There was a group of us staying at the Sheraton, when Storm Juno hit, we were stranded and flights were cancelled, the Sheraton was NO help and wouldn't offer us a room considering no one arriving etc. We had a 75-year old with us, who was struggling with this cold weather, we stayed in this hotel (Ameritania) in 2012, and... Fantastic stay at this hotel. Location is great and you can walk to most places easily. The staff are all helpful and knowledgable of the area, and the doorman sorted our transfer to Newark easily. On arrival we had champagne and a card waiting to acknowledge our honeymoon - we also got a corner room so could see a lot... More

Overall the Ameritania is a good hotel in a fantastic location if you're in NY for tourism. THE ROOM The room is small, although I believe this is to be expected in Manhattan. It consisted of bed, desk, small closet, and a sofa chair. Washroom was cramped - if you were on the toilet you were also right up against... More

The Ameritania exceeded our expectations. Staff were friendly and helpful. As soon as we arrived we were given an upgrade to a king suite. Bed was extremely comfortable. Overall a perfect experience..

New York city is an exciting bustling city, but certainly staying at the beautiful, clean Ameritania Hotel added to the experience. The staff, especially one of its managers Swlvia, go out of their way to make sure that we are welcomed. I admittedly ran into several traveling faux paux, including needing an extra day, needing copies and even forgot personal... More

I was given a corner suite which was very spacious and clean. Only complaint I have is with the housekeepers - if you don't have the do not disturb tag on the door they will just walk right into your room w out knocking (or waiting for a response)

Stayed here 1 week in January.Loved it,great location, very nice staff. Both Julian and Jeff were very helpfull with my luggage and tips on where to go. Only thing I missed in the room was a coffee/tea maker. You can get coffee and tea in The lobby but it would be nice to have it in your room so you can start the... More

This is comparable to its sister hotel, the Moderne, with a couple of differences. The furniture at the Modern is still in one piece - the silver chair in my room was absolutely worn, with silver flakes shedding about. I hunted for an outlet, and found it under the television, too far from the desk to use with the computer,... More

The location is excellent. The hotel is clean and modern. The staff are very helpful. Very comfortable bed. The room was quite small room but typical for a city stay as not much time is spent in hotel.

Stayed in this hotel for four nights in January. Absolutely love the decor, it may not be to everybody's tastes but I thought it was fantastic. Beds were fantastic and very comfy, and the shower was gorgeous. Not much of a view from the room but we didn't need one, as Times Square itself is only a few blocks away.... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
