Up there with the best hotels I've ever stayed in. Everything they've done they've done really well. It's not attempting to be luxurious and really top end. But they have done a fantastic job of all of it. All the staff are extremely helpful with a fantastic can do attitude and the facilities are top notch. Really impressed.

Staff very friendly. Room was very nicely furnished. Average room size for New York. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was clean and bright. Good powerful shower. They supply you with a set of ear plugs, which is a good idea as New York is definitely the city that does not sleep, perhaps they should ban the use of car horns... More

GOOD: Great location right in Times Square. Awesome bar next door (Three Monkeys). Great bartender in the lobby bar. Large rooms and showers (by NYC standards). Very comfortable beds. Modern decor. NOT SO GOOD: Not all doormen are very helpful or pleasant. (Two were very nice.) The lobby bar with that great bartender is pretty much never open. Elevators were... More

The hotel is very modern and the rooms are very spacious. The bathroom is really cold, specially during the winter. Beware, they charge you for everything in the room. A water bottle $7, a snickers $7... Well you get the idea. Make sure that you ask prices and double check if something is complementary. The prices are triple of what... More

I stayed in this hotel when coming on a vacation from the UK, the hotel wasn't the cleanest but there was no extreme or terrible issue. The staff did not provide customer service that was welcoming or pleasant. The beds were however okay and the bathrooms were decent sized. Would not stay here again unless a great deal was offered.

This turned out to be my best stay in New York City. It started a little rough since I was given 'an express room' to begin with. However, the staff reaction to my dissatisfaction with the first room was first rate and I'm so glad I chose the Ameritania for my 3 night stay. I will use it again. You... More

What a fabulous trip! The hotel is literally 2 blocks from all the excitement of times square. We came into New York to celebrate my daughters 13th birthday. I was alone with 2 teenagers girls. The staff at the hotel was amazing! They answered all of my questions and even googled directions for me when I needed them. A special... More

Great central location and a short walk from Times Square. Close to subways and cost us $5 from the train station in a taxi. The room itself was ok and the bathroom was a wet room. We stayed three nights and on occasions the bed was made but bathroom wasn't cleaned thoroughly still rubbish left. There was no tea or... More

Very good hotel in a perfect mid town location in NYC! The hotel is perfectly located for Broadway theaters and minutes' walk from 5th and 6th ave, Central Park, and Line 1 of the Subway. The lobby is very comfortable and the concierge is mostly helpful, rooms are comfortable and pretty. Heating in the room is a bit noisy but... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
