I took my GF to NY on her 30th birthday last year and stayed the weekend in The Fitzpatrick. It's a nice hotel, decent prices (considering its NY in Manhattan) and really nice, friendly staff. It's a decent location and not to bad of a walk to Times Square. I didn't mind the walking, I'm used to the NY blocks.... More

Great location in walking distance to many major attractions and transportation routes. Off the the main "arteries" of Midtown (Park Ave, 5th, and Madison, which I believe gives you more travel flexibility with cabs, and lower fares. A 2 min walk to Grand Central which gets you anywhere in mins. The staff was super helpful, and extremely nice. They went... More

Arrived on Thursday last week and stayed for 3 nights , my wife and I have stayed in many New York hotels ( basic , mid price and luxury ) and I have to say the Fitzpatrick Grand Central is the best.Great Irish bar serving excellent food , we enjoyed a traditional Irish breakfast each day and had several meals... We were Rery pleased with our short stay at the Fitzpatrick Grand Central hotel. Naturally, the Fitzpatrick's location is perfect if you're traveling by train, and there's a terrific coffee shop right next door. The hotel has old world charm, combined with a host of modern features. The Fitzpatrick's staff were all very pleasant and helpful. One note: the hotel's... More

Greeted with a warm Irish welcome, Fitzpatrick's Grand Central met all our requirements for a city centre hotel.... Minutes walk from Grand Central station, a perfect Midtown location. Clean, comfortable room, bathroom housed all the amenities but a little on the small size. As with all NY hotels, there was some noise... but hey, it wouldn't be NY if there... More

Pros: - Location - Price - Size of the room Cons: - Street noise - Hotel noise - Nowhere for shower steam to vent - Really soft bed New York is notorious for cramped hotel rooms that cost a fortune. While I've stayed in nicer than this, it's pretty high on the scale for NYC. Location can't be beat -... More

This was the first time I had stayed here. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was generously sized and very comfortable. The location is great, just across the street from the entrance to Grand Central Station on 42nd street. Really enjoyed my stay.

From the moment we stepped into the hotel we had a very warm welcome. Staff were always friendly and happy to help. The trip was to celebrate my 40th birthday, we had champagne and chocolate covered strawberries in the room and we were given free wifi in our room and 2 complimentary drinks in the bar and 2 complimentary breakfasts.... Great hotel. Nice decor. Large rooms, very clean and comfortable. Great hotel and in very convenient location, half a block from Grand Central. If you are in the mid-town area, this is an excellent choice for a hotel. There is an Irish Bar called Wheel Tapper in the hotel - great place if you like a pub type of atmosphere.... More

I stayed here for 4 nights over Thanksgiving weekend. The location is excellent, right by grand central & just a couple of blocks to the JFK airport bus-stop. The staff are extremely helpful & friendly. Our room was spacious by NYC standards; two double beds, a large bathroom & walk in wardrobe. Only fault I can report is the absence... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
