What an amazing time we have just had in NYC . It was our first time visiting from the UK. We chose this hotel through recommendations from Thomas Cook. Here's a honest review of the hotel : First impressions were very good. The hotel isn't new or moden by any means but so what ! The reception area is so... More

Contrary to other reviews we've stayed here twice and here's what we found. The front desk people were wonderful especially Margaret! As returning guests they gave us an upgrade to a wonderful king size bed on the 16th floor(last time was two doubles on the 9th). The bathroom had new tile and wallpaper, the room although small and simple was... More

I was very happy with our stay. I used to live in Manhattan and knew I wanted to be in this area, away from the insane crowds at Time Square, and walking distance to see Broadway shows. We had a clean and spacious two bedroom suite which was perfect, with a newly renovated bathroom. We were surprised to get such... More

Location was between Central park and Time Square, near to metro stations. Breakfast was in a downstairs diner. They had quite a good omelettes there. NOTICE! I don't have a "bad" back but I had to go to the chiropractor for 2 weeks after the trip. That bed in the hotel was not supportive at all. The staff is not... More

The location is perfect. Subway is right at the corner of the hotel. Rooms are clean (we had a suite with two rooms and a kitchenette). Beds are very good, I'd say the best sleep quality out of 4 other hotels we've stayed in NYC. Overall it was a good stay, however one irritating thing I would like to mention:... More

There is definitely a lot of charm to this hotel. I had originally reserved a double bed room somewhere else nearby and at the last minute, and cancelled that one when I found out that I could have a large 2 bedroom suite with a full kitchen at the Wellington, for less money! Since I love having my space, that... More

Lovely hotel, with antique furniture in a fantastic position as Times Square is to the left and Central Park to the right. A myriad of restaurants are close to the hotel Shame about the weather as we had 3 days of torrential weather.

I'm one of those people who believes that accommodations can either make or break your vacations. Staying at the Wellington wasn't my choice and thankfully lasted one night only. I had reservations for another hotel, right across the street, but for some reason, my room wasn't ready for me and they accommodated me at the Wellington in the meantime. Although... More

Stayed there last month. Location excellent, hotel very good. Really pleased with it. We had a lovely large suite - the beds were really comfortable. The a/c was rather dated and noisy but we were so tired with all the sightseeing (and unusually hot weather) we slept well regardless! Major criticism though is the amount they charge for wifi -... Great location in NYC. Close to Central Park and the theater district. King room was newly renovated. Bathroom is small but adequate. Always busy lobby. The desk staff was helpful. Make reservations with the hotel website to get free wireless. Would stay here again.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
