This hotel has good rooms - modern, clean, stylish - and a great location in the Upper West side. My complaint is about the bizarre TV reception and lack of local channels, the total absence of any Internet, and indifferent staff. We stayed for a long weekend Oct 09 and found On The Ave to be extremely nice. Friendly & very helpful staff, very clean & comfy rooms. I couldn't really fault it to be honest. My third time during 9 yrs in On The Ave - and I don't think I'll ever go anywhere else in NYC again. (Tried once but went to On The Ave after the first night...). Brilliant location exceptionally convienent being so clos to a nuber of subway lines, central park and a number of museums. The hotel staff were extremely fiendly and helpful. The room was a great size with a unbeleivably big tv very clean and well equiped. Would gladdly recomend a stay here. more
Beautiful room... Lovely balcony with wicker chairs where you can take your own wine/beer and enjoy the view... Helpful staff... Relatively quiet for Manhattan... Close to Central Park... Nice restaurants nearby... more

Imagine being in NYC when the Yankees are playing in Game 6 of the ALCS and the local Fox channel carrying the game isn't available. The front desk didn't even apologize. Said something like it hasn't had local channels for some time but might by the next time I stay. Right, and hell might freeze over in the same time.... more

We chose this hotel for its location and descriptions on its glossy website. Never having been to NYC, we expected accomodations and service to be on a par with other hotels of similar acclaim and cost in which we have stayed. We were disappointed. Our "Standard" room was 9'x12', not including hall and bath. No chair(no room for it). Shower... more

Very convenient location for Central Park and the nearby museums. The rooms are not as nice as the lobby suggests. The staff was nice and friendly. Good option if you can get a good rate. more

OTA was a great place to stay in NY City. I was nervous from reading other reviews that suggested bad TV reception, unhelpful staff, etc. The staff was terrific from the moment we arrived (there were some maintenance trucks parked in front of the hotel so no where to leave the car immediately and the bellman was VERY helpful) through... more
