Yes, the cost is very cheap for a New York hotel in such a great location. Sadly, however, that is about all this place has going for it. I stayed at the West Side Inn for two weeks, checking out over the weekend to go and stay with friends up north. Over the first week, I had very few problems.... More

We stayed here as there was parking offered - this is actually on the street and nothing to do with the hostel so should not be used as a facility on their details. The hotel is grimy, the kitchens are horrendous, and the girl on the desk is really rude. The bathroom window on our floor was jammed open so... More

I stayed here ten years ago as an impoverished student and just found it again on trip advisor. To my horror and amusement it still exists and looks exactly as I remember it. Not much to say for the place itself - its a total complete and utter dump. Of the highest calibre imaginable. Stay here only if you can't... More

Fly for 12 hours, to come to this! The pictures on this site are complete LIE! The man behind the desk had to have known that this place was awful as he asked me if we wanted to see this room before we paid. Then tells me that we are on the 5th floor and there elevator does not work... More

The website photos are obivously fake, the rooms are vile, the "facilities" offered in bathroom and WC are hardly what one would expect for what they charge. The worst place I have ever stayed in. Avoid this dump at all costs!!!!

The best thing about this place, beside the price, is the location! Very safe and nice area, right next to the subway, lots of bakeries, coffee places, restaurants and bars. The rooms are tiny, and barely have anything in them. BUT if you are coming to see NYC, and NOT spend your whole time in the room, its perfect. I... More

We booked to stay here for a week with lastminute.com - it was a fantastic price for the overall package - and after a bit of research about this place it seemed okay. Initially when we arrive it looked okay from outside, when we entered the receptionist wasn't the friendliest & had made matters of our reservation rather confusing. We... More

You get what you pay for!!!!!I the hotel is an interesting experience of new york on is own. Rooms are dirty and smelly. Public bathrooms most of the times all occupied on every floor at the same time. Staff not friendly and rude. But you got what you pay for, at that price u can't complain. Love NYC

the room is clean, but very simple! the staff is nice and helpful and the area is not too touristy, so you can experience the real new york and great restaurants in the area. even the bath rooms are kept clean throughout the day and in the basement you find a chillout area with a flatscreen tv, pool table and... We were sent here since our room at Candy Hostel (don't go there, that's really a terrible place!!!) was double booked. I don't expect anything, except for my sheets and the bathroom to be clean and this was the case. Furthermore the people are very friendly and helpfull. On our last night they even offered us to move to a... More
