We stayed here two night in August while my husband did the NYC Tri. The hotel is geared up to accomodate the racers with bikes in the lobby and rooms. The staff was courteous and in fact one of the doormen was so kind and helpful it was beyond. The front desk was polite. The rooms are sort old European... More

Good value for the price. Rooms on the smaller side (comfortable and cosy) which seems to be the norm in NYC, but well equipped. Walking distance to food, shopping and Subway. Located in a safer neighbourhood. Central Park close by.

My partner and children and I stayed here for four nights. Our room was a corner room (would definitely recommend) and even though that may have increased the noise (which to be clear was less than we expected), we were very happy with the views the room provided. The beds and pillows were comfortable, Internet/ wifi was consistently good, and... More

Just stayed at the Lucerne for the fifth year in a row on our Labor Day weekend trip to NYC. It was yet another excellent stay - the staff was friendly and efficient, and the room well-appointed and comfortable. The location is fantastic - one block from the subway, two blocks from the Natural History Museum and Zabars, and three... More

We have just returned from New York and the experience at The Lucerne Hotel was perfect. The hotel is located between Amsterdam Avenue (full of places to eat and full of life in the evening) and Broadway (which runs along Manhattan). Very close to the metro line 1 (at the end of the road), 5 minute walk to the lines... More

New York is a tricky place to stay because you really have to balance value with location and services. Trip advisor helped me choose this hotel and I'm glad I stayed here. It is much better value than hotels closer to the Broadway hub and the extra bonus is that it is much quieter too. The location is great being... More

We chose The Lucerne Hotel for it's location (upper west side), room size (two full size beds), price, and consistently high ratings here on Trip Advisor. Check-in was quick, and the room we received with the 4 night 20% discount did not have much of a view, but was a nice, large corner room with windows on 2 walls and... More

The rooms was large and comfortable. The hotel is easy walking distance from Metro station. Therefore it is easy to get downtown Manhattan very quickly. The hotel is close to Central Park, Museum of Natural History and The Met is not too far. The immediate surrounding offers many dinning options, from little deli shops to nice restaurants. I loved that... More

Lovely hotel in a wonderful area - close to so many interesting sites, restaurants, etc., but away from the noise and crowds. Room was beautifully appointed and very comfortable. Staff were excellent - friendly and welcoming.
