Room is pleasant enough and relatively clean. However the heat broke down and hasn't been working. This is understandable but the front desk had had a very unhelpful attitude, which was to just ask us repeatedly to wait. With a 2 year old in mid-November past midnight, this isn't the easiest task. Otherwise the hotel is fine.

My wife and Ihave recently returned from a visit to NY, and had a very comfortable stay at the Lucerne. This started off with a broad smile and welcome from the doorman and continued in the same manner at the Reception. Excellent first impression. We then went up to our roomon the 9th floor which gave us a good view... More

I just returned to a trip to NYC where I went to visit my daughter who attends Columbia. The Lucerne is one of the hotels recommended by the school. I must point out that the best hotel installations in the world are of very little comfort if the people that work at the hotel are not up to par. In... More

This is our second time to stay at the Lucerne, both times traveling for pleasure--mainly to go to the theater. First, the pros: This hotel is in an outstanding location: one block from the subway, 2 blocks from Central Park and near the MNH. There are many restaurants/bars/wine bars around the corner on Amsterdam, so plenty of options after exploring... More

I was in new York with my Dad and we found the hotel outstanding. It's unusual in New York to find a hotel with rooms bigger than a shoe box, but I found myself in a huge double room at a very reasonable cost. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and Upper West Side location is perfect for exploring, just... More

We stayed here for our trip to run the NY Marathon. The hotel is about as close as you can get too the finish line - perfect for tired legs after running 42km. The decor is not my style (very old world) but the suites are a good size, there's a fantastic coffee shop across the road - Irving Farm,... More

Great location if you hope to get an on street parking, saving you a lot of $. Safe neighborhood, nice affordable restaurants nearby, great museums, great parks close by and away from the nastiness around Times Square.

Stayed for three nights to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Love the upper west side. This location is convenient to subways and there are great restaurants nearby. Check out Fred's and Issabella's had wonderful dinners at both. Grabbed dessert at Cafe Lalo and that was great too. Hotel was very well kept and clean. Our room was not large by... More

This our first visit to NYC in a long time using a hotel. Previously until recently had an apartment downtown which we sold. The staff was friendly, and made you feel comfortable and welcome. We had a large room and the bed very comfortable. My wife wants to know the make of the mattress which we will find out. We are... Stayed here for 3 nights was enjoyable enough. The room was spacious, I didn't expect the nice sized closets with plenty of hangers and an iron! There was also an extra pillow and an umbrella. The bath products were Aveda, the shower water pressure was decent. It's a tad dated, they have that brocade "is this a comforter or decoration?"... More
