Positives: nice lobby, friendly staff, complementary wine with happy hour, location. location, location. Negatives: old furniture and carpets, very small rooms and very very thin walls plus very loud cleaning staff early in the morning. This hotel does not have a lot of amenities, but the rooms were clean and comfortable. It is located in a quite (for NY) neighborhood within walking distance of the Museum of Natural History, a few cafes and bagel shops. You will not have the typical action and traffic of other NY neighborhoods. More

Hotels need to be assessed relative to the city. You will find cheaper than the Lucerne in New York, but we found the security, cleanliness, proximity and comfort worth the extra.
