We have stayed at The Lucerne many times and always pick it as our go-to place to erstwhile in New York. A great staff and very nice accommodations make for a wonderful experience. We have visited and stayed at The Lucerne six times previously and have always had a great experience.

The Lucerne is a great surprise in a big city. Central Park and the Museum of Natural History are just two blocks east of the hotel. Staff is helpful, rooms are clean and comfortable. It is a good value on the upper west side. It is far enough away from the busy part of the city but close enough that... More

A very attending staff in the Lucerne hotel on the upper west side, great retauarants around on Amsterdam and if you stay longer you have Zabars on Broadway to buy food for light dinners like cocktail shrimps ( the big ones!) cheese, baguette , fruits and vegetables. Overall the staff is very attending. We will be back. The hotel restaurant... More

I stayed at The Lucerne Hotel for one night on business. It's an imposing but attractive building with a terra cotta facade in the beaux arts style, but over the years the renovations have left it with nothing of that style on the inside. It tries to come off as a luxury hotel with lots of opulent looking fabric and... More

My husband and I stayed at the Lucerne for 5 nights in April as part of his 40th birthday celebrations. We chose The Lucerne for its location as we prefer the Upper West Side of Manhattan to Mid Town. I'd walked past The Lucerne many times on previous visits to New York but had never stayed - and this time... More

A noisy night, slamming doors, I could hear anything happening in the corridor + when the air conditioning was working on the next room, my room was shaking. The vending or ice machine sounded like a railroad station. A half used body-wash was waiting for me in the bathroom when I checked in. And it was small to begin with.... More

Easy place to stay nice and clean all up to date. Wonderful staff! Doorman ran across the street to make sure a parking spot would be reserved in the independent parking garage, he knew they were full except for me. Quest clean room on the 9th floor with view of the city and Hudson River. Easy commute via walking or... More

We stayed at the Lucerne Hotel twice in early April for 4 nights each time. Our room contained two doubles and was quite spacious (we asked for the same room). The beds and pillows were very comfortable - not too soft or hard and of good quality. There was a chest of drawers with a flat screen TV (cable zillions... More

There are lots of drab functional NYC hotels. This is not one of them. The Lucerne is a nice, comfortable, clean, and safe hotel conveniently located a short walk from the #1 subway stop at 79th St and Broadway. The building is an older building with really cool ornate brick/stonework on the outside, and comfortable modern rooms on the inside.... More

I stayed at the hotel during a business trip. I arrived in the morning after a long overseas flight and they had a room ready for me. The room was a relatively large room by NYC standards and the rate was very reasonable. The room was quiet, very clean and looked recently renovated. The staff were extremely nice and helpful....
