Excellent location between Broadway and Amsterdam. Lots of stores and 24hr drug store across the street. Many small restaurants to choose from within a 10-15 minute walk. 5 minute cab ride to Lincoln Center and one can walk home after the performance. Prices are high compared to most cities in US but the hotel is much better quality than an... More

The bellmen are the nicest, the front desk helpful, room nice size, very clean. We love the neighborhood, close to a subway, lots of good restaurants. The price was perfect. We will definitely stay at the Lucerne again.

Stayed at the Lucerne for a week in the first week of December. This is a lovely traditional hotel, in a pleasant area, in an excellent location We easily walked to most places but there is a subway less than two minutes walk away if you prefer the alternative. We found the accommodation very clean and comfortable, housekeeping excellent and... More

Great bell hops. Cleanlliness of hotel is excellent. Great central location, walking distance to many things. Front desk staff could be more informed. Conciere needs to concentrate more on the requests of travellers rather than trying to sell them on packages

Very nice place in a great neighborhood. Twenty, or so, ethnic restaurants within two blocks Clean, help is fine, rooms are nice. Now the downside. Almost no closet space, and virtually no shelves or area to put the most basic things in the bathrooms. The hairdryer hangs on the door. They installed a fancy bathroom mirror in a recent renovation,... More

We stayed at The Lucerne for four days in mid-November. The staff were very friendly and helpful particularly in upgrading us to a larger room which was much more spacious and comfortable than their first offering. The Nice Matin restaurant attached to the hotel was excellent for breakfast with reasonable prices. The hotel is close to Central Park and the... More

In all my trips to Manhattan, I had never stayed on the Upper West Side, always electing to stay in the Times Square area to be close to the theatre district and avoid late-night trips on the subway after a show. Having said that, I must say I enjoyed the Lucerne. The No. 1 subway is a block from the... More

We stayed here for 7 nights and it was perfect for a more relaxed NYC experience; we wanted a traditional hotel nothing modern or loud and funky. This was ideal! Our Superior King room on the 5th floor a the back was spacious, quiet, with a big comfortable bed and always clean (leave the heating on whilst you are out... More

I would like to have given this hotel a higher rating, because the staff was so pleasant and helpful, but there were enough things wrong that I felt I couldn't rate the hotel any higher than I have. Several of these things may have been room-specific, so it might be that staying in a different room would have made a... More

Stayed here for 5 nights. Good location- just two blocks from the American Museum of Natural History and the subway is close too. Rooms were comfortable and well heated, though small (yes, this is Manhattan...) Pleased with the service too, right from the front desk to the housekeeping. The only disappointment was the lack of a kettle and minibar in... More
