The beds were very comfy, but the wonderful service and delightful Nice Matin bistro were what made our stay special. We ate all our breakfasts here and sat outside on the sidewalk patio with a glass of wine in the late evening, just watching the world go by.. Delightful!

We have stayed at this hotel many times over the years. It remains a classic hotel in a great neighborhood. The metro is at the Conor of the block and Central Park is a few blocks away. There are loads of restaurants within easy walking distance. Our room was upgraded upon our arrival. The rooms are decorated in a traditional... More

This is now our hotel in New York. It is small (not to small) and comfy. I guess that is the word. Comfy. We were there July 2014 and loved it. Went back and still love it. The rooms feel like home. Warm. So many hotels re-design to be "modern" this hotel re-designed to stay true to its original charm.... More

This was my first time staying at The Lucerne, located in the Upper Westside of NYC. It was a wonderful hotel with a lovely and very clean room. I received great service from everyone who worked at the hotel. Also, the location of the hotel is perfect, i.e. surrounded by outstanding restaurants, is a few blocks from Central Park, the... We've stayed at the Lucerne Hotel many times when traveling both for business and pleasure in NYC. Recently we visited again and were excited that we'd been upgraded to the Presidential Suite. The suite had two nice-sized (especially for NY) rooms, a bathroom with jacuzzi tub, a king-size bed, and a wine cooler. The room was clean and clearly well... More

Enjoyed every bit my four day stay in this hotel. With a location five minutes walk from Central Park, the American Museum of Natural History, even closer; and the ferry stop to Staten island being also nearby, and yes within a block from the 79th Street/Broadway intersection and metro station. Is in a nice part of upper west Manhattan. Had... More

We had a nice, spacious queen suite, and it came with a proper separate room that can be used as an office or as an extra guest room because it had a sofa bed pullout. Plush bedding and decent decor. This is an old-school-yet-updated hotel that keeps the best of the old school elements... attention to detail, quality of staff,... More

We booked a basic room with a king sized bed, and as it was our first time in New York we were hoping for a room with a bit of a view but we were on the first floor facing another wall and next to the elevator with some noise throughout the night - bit of a bummer. The room... More

We scored a room at a very good price. Room was small but both it and the bath were immaculate! Coffee machine...great bed. In other words, perfect! Front desk gave us a coupon for 15% off our breakfast. And the meal was very good! Highly satisfactory experience.

This is a wonderful historic hotel. We loved our stay here! Going for a mother-daughter trip, we spent 5 restful nights in a room with two queen beds, plenty of space, excellent maid service, good in-room coffee, daily newspaper and caring staff. Bedding is very nice, towels soft and rich. The décor is tasteful and period, the single window as... More
