Gorgeous hotel! Perfect location to 79th street train station! Shopping nearby was convenient and many places to eat were within walking distance. Very clean and comfortable. Hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended this hotel.

If you want to a place in west side, this is a good choice. We stayed in a suite for 2 weeks. The front desk people need to smile every now and then. I really appreciate that the check in was really quick! They also let us get to our room early. The beds were very soft, some people might... More

I recently had a horrendous experience with Hotels.com regarding a change in my reservation dates at the Lucerne, they were no help whatsoever. I called Ghizlane, the manager of the Lucerne Hotel, who understood my dilemma immediately and worked with me towards a positive solution at once. Without her help, this would have been a vacation nightmare and we would... More

Our family had a FANTASTIC experience at The Lucerne, celebrating our parents' 50th wedding anniversary with 4 nights in NYC. This hotel was just perfect us - great location near Central Park and subway, clean, large rooms (a rarity in NYC), friendly staff, and nice French bar/restaurant next door (Nice Matin). We had rooms on the 10th and 12th floors... More

The Lucerne is a good hotel in the best neighborhood in NYC. It's tough to find a clean, comfortable hotel on the upper west side and the Lucerne fits that description. It's old in a charming sort of way and maintained well. My room was a little short on closet space but they did ask me upon check in if... More

5 minutes walk from the 79th Street subway station, 30 seconds from a selection of bars and restaurants, the Lucerne is in a fantastic location for walking to the American Natural history museum and Central Park. In addition, the Subway opens up the whole of NYC. We had a room on the corner of Broadway and 79th Street and were... More

Unusual yes but I really wanted to do it. The hotel is just fine; it's a bit dated but that adds character. What I really wanted to share was my surprise to return to the room after a housekeeper named Jania had cleaned it for us. It had the feel of home. I had no idea how I'd changed to... More

This review is mostly about a young woman, Jania, a lovely housekeeper. She took care of our room for 2 out of the 5 days we stayed there and I have to say her touch gave the room warmth and made returning to it a bit more like home and less like a hotel. It's so easy to get an... More

After staying in the more frenetic midtown, we decided to try a hotel in the more residential Upper West Side. We could not have been more pleased with the staff and location of The Lucerne. Even before our arrival, we contacted the concierge for Broadway tickets. Ron could not have been more helpful. On arrival, we found the staff and... More
