I took the advice of other reviews on this board and booked a room on the 12th floor. I just came back from there and for the price I paid ($102/nt), it's the best I could get for around New Years time in New York. The rooms are definately small. I got a private room w/2 bunks. Likes: - price... More

Tips are to get a room on the 12th floor and ask for a view of the park. Otherwise, IMO, you don't get what you pay for. I paid $86/night for a 2-day weekend stay, which is cheap for Manhattan. My room was on the unrenovated 11th floor and it was a dive! Uncarpeted, old linoleum floors. Old paint on... More

This hotel was cheap by New York Standards ($110US per night) and the location is excellent, right near central park and only a few blocks from Broadway and Times Sqaure. It was a little noisy (from the other guests) so I would bring some earplugs. We had no hot water in our private bathroom or in the shared one I... More

My husband and I had a great stay. The location is excellent, with easy access to the subway and easily walking distance to Broadway, Times Square etc, and across the street from Central Park. I had read previous reviews (about bad bathrooms etc) so I asked for a room on the 12th floor which has been renovated. I also asked... More

We took a group of 10 students, arrived tired late on friday (20 Oct) night to find our girls were booked into 2 quad rooms on 5 floor which has no female bathrooms and teachers booked into single rooms on different floors to any students. Receptionist Tony was very helpful and patient. despite the fact that the place was 'fully... More

I took 100 students on a field trip. I am used to staying in very basic accommodation when going with work, and this is by no means any different than the other budget accomodation I have stayed in. Everyone talks about over friendly americans, but I have yet to meet a budget hotel receptionist that seemed pleased to see us.... More

I recently stayed at the YMCA and it was great. This is obviously a budget room so do not expect all the usual frills of a hotel. However, for the cost of the room I cannot complain. I stayed in a single room w/ a private bathroom for only $109/night. I had previously stayed in other hostels with a shared... More

My friend and I stayed here for 8 nights in September. The room was very small, had bunkbeds, a desk, tv and a closet with about 5 hangers. We received fresh sheets and towels everyday. I was worried about the shared bathrooms but they were not a problem. I usually took a shower in the morning and most of the... More

My first impression was that it was a bit old and run down. I was on the 10th floor in a twin room (bunk beds) for a week. The room was very basic, small with a bunk bed (no bar across the top), desk, tv and tiny cupboard. It would also have been nice to have a carpet or rug... More
