If you're travelling to NY you will notice that sleeping is really expensive there. This place was a really good option if you travel on budget. The rooms are ok, and so are the bathrooms. The best is the location, just few steps to Central Park and 15 minutes walking to Times Square. Close to the underground. You can't ask... More

When I heard that we would be staying in a YMCA I must admit I had my doubts but they were quickly forgotten. The rooms were basic but what you needed. The bathroom facilities were completely normal and the location is the main draw. Very close to central Park and any subway stations. There are lots of fscilitied to use... More

We stayed here over New Years for a week and it was honestly such a good choice. We were on a limited budget and expected the rooms to be basic (which they are) but the location and the service was amazing. You're about a 10/15 minute walk from the Museum of Natural History and about a 15/20 minute walk to... More

The West Side YMCA is in a great location. We were on the 13th floor and the bathrooms were usually pretty clean and I never had to wait. The rooms are absolutely tiny and the wifi didn't work in our room, only in the hallway. It's definitely a "family " hostel, not many young people about. The bunks weren't too... More

Stayed at west Side when I was visiting New York. It's basic (just a basic room) and it's a shared bathroom. But the location was Great. We were located at the west of central park, only 5 minutes away from a metro station and the Lincoln centre. And 10 minutes from the museum of Natural history. Also: the prices were... More

Very basic facilities in a fantastic position.good ameneties like swimming and yoga if you have the time. I had a very pretty nightdress under my pillow that disappeared and unfortunately couldn't be found in the laundry or any of the usual places.

As far as hostels go, this is a pretty good one for somewhere as popular as NYC. The location is great, walking distance to a lot of the tourist areas and Central Park is on your door step! We stayed in a two bed room (simply because it was fairly priced when we booked) and it was fine, nothing special... More

1/2 block to Central Park, 2 blocks to Columbus Circle and 15min walk to Times Square area/Broadway. You couldn't find a better location in NYC to be. If you like to run, having Central Park outside your door is awesome. Riverside Park is only 0.8 miles to the northwest also, for another great NYC running option. Room was spartan, like... More

My stay here was for almost 5 nights. The location is good. In addition there are lots of amenities available like gym, health club, etc. The staff is very cooperative. However, housekeeping in common toilets need to improve a lot.
