It is good for single travelers as it has the basic requirements. Very good location near the most important sightseeing and also near the metro station and supermarket. But it has no luxury accessories. So if you are traveling with family i don't recommend this hotel.

The stay itself was more than okay, friendly staff, nice rooms, affordable prices, HOWEVER what really ruined it for me was the fact that they sensor a lot of websites. I couldn't even visit news websites from my own country and I overheard some other guests saying they were unable to access websites containing adult content. But then again maybe... More

The first time I stayed at the YMCA West Side I got a shock by how basic the rooms are. They are tiny, the beds and beddings are old, and the atmosphere is almost prison like. At first I thought 'this is awful - I can't stay here'. But after a couple of nights I changed my mindset - I... More

Stayed in this hostel for one night. The location was great, a few steps to Central Park. And it was almost the cheapest place in Manhattan with such a good location. We had a small room with bunk bed. The walls were very thin, we heard all the noises outside. Wi fi didn't work in our room on the 13th... More

The location is perfect, a few steps from the Central Park, perhaps a mile from Times Square, 300 feet from the Lincoln Center and the subway station and the facility is as "spartan" as you should expect from a YMCA chain...but the lack of maintenance is more than obvious. It takes too long for the service personnel to clean the... More

I travelled here in February 2015 and stayed for 4 nights on business. I stayed her with some students as I am a teacher. I think this place is great. I always get a room with a view of Central Park. The staff are ok and the little cafe is handy. The location is amazing and ideal for exploring the... More

So our room had a broken bathroom door, broken shower door, no door to the wardrobe, a broken bathroom blind, a noisy bed and ants on the floor. Despite this it was fine. The shower was painful though, it was broken (like most of our room) and had only one setting of so powerful I will decapitate your head. Anyway... More

I was traveling standby to new York where I had a reservation thru booking.com at the Westside ymca. Storms caused me to get stuck in San Antonio for a day. I tried numerous times to contact the hotel to see if they would hold my reservation but never heard a response of any sort. Their message claimed they would return... More

Place was very clean and simple. It is in a great location, opposite central park and walking distance to time square. Showers are super small, no where to hang your clothes or shower items. Being a pillow if you can as the ones provided are thin. Nothing wrong with this place, bit pricey for what you get but you are... More
