Perfect location and awesome gym. Security and reception 24/7. However quite old building and very cold rooms in wintertime. I wrote longer review in my blog: https://dreamerachiever.wordpress.com/2015/01/18/hotel-review-west-side-ymca-upper-westside-manhattan-nyc/

The hotel is located very close to subway and central park so it was very convenient to travel around. I booked a room with the semi private bathroom. The room is too small and not very clean and included stained carpet. The air box near the window was open and broken which made the air from outside flow inside. The... More

The most attractive things about it are the great location and the reasonable price. It is located near columbia circle and within walking distance of many famous attractions such as central park and times square. However, the room is too small, and when you take a shower, the water is too hot. When I complained the hot water to staff,... More

I went with my almost grown daughter to introduce her to Manhattan. We staid two nights in a room with bunks beds. The room was tiny, but had a small desk, towels, and a closet. Shared bathrooms were nearby and were clean. The room and common areas were neat, clean, and organized. The security desk was helpful in answering questions... More

We stayed here for 4 nights in a private doubleroom, floor number 9! The rooms are very small and you cant open the window which is not so nice because even though its winter you need fresh air! The beds are alright, they clean it everyday and you have fresh towels everyday. Thats great because a lot of hostels dont... More

If you are on a tight budget, want a room just to sleep in and go, and be in an ideally conveniet location in Manhattan, this is it. But as they say you get what you pay for. The rooms range from cheap to about $60 a night more and I would recommend going for the more. For this you... More

I was expecting some quirky experiences based on the Village People song. I really enjoyed my stay here, and I would do it again. If you are looking for value in NYC, this is it! There is VERY tight security, so you don't have to worry. The rooms are spartan, but they are pretty comfortable. It is close to MANY... More

Well location was great but the stuff act like a police in prison, especially the guys at the fronte desk. They treat me like I was been there for free 8 days. The room was clean but the bathroom look like hospital for hommles. However for that price you can finde a hotel where you will be treated like a guest with dignity.

I stayed here for the first 2 nights of my week long trip in NYC. For what it was, it was great. If you're expecting luxury look elsewhere, but the room, and the facilities for the price were great. This combined with the incredible location make it a good place to stay.

We hosted in this place from 10th to nov/14th 2014. My score about it: LOCATION = 10 ROOMS / CLEANING = 7 BATHROOM / CLEANING = 8 SERVICES = -14 (Yes, 14 NEGATIVE) -> Please give some attention about what I´ll describe below, its quite serious!) The feeling of being there was like we are there in favor to the... More
