Location is great!!---walking distance to time square -broadway-central park-subway-grand central station- empire state building and so many more sightings... Parking--underground and $ 20.00 a day The Rooms-standard looking room-- very dated and old.... I kind of felt ewwwww.... there were mouse traps under the beds--thankfully no mice in them!!!! I will say that NYC does have a lot of mice... More

For many years the Travel Inn offered the almost unheard-of perk of free, on-site parking in Midtown. It's a perk I really miss having stayed here a number of times over the years! It set the hotel apart from the many, many discount hotels in the city. The hotel is still a good bargain much of the time (the price... More

this hotel made everything about my first trip to new york perfect! its very hard to find a reasonably priced hotel so close to the middle of times square, especially with private bathrooms. the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. i would definitely stay here again and recommend it to everyone

Stayed at the Travel Inn from December 19th to the 23 Rd. This was our first trip to New York so I wanted something that was within walking distance to Times Square and other attractions but we are also on a budget so I wasn't sure it was possible. This price was great for the location! 10 minute walk to... More

Good midtown location close to West Side Hwy. for easy access in and out of NYC, with great onsite self-parking for only $20/night (a real bargain in NYC). Only a few blocks from Times Square hotels and major subway lines and easy access to cab service or walking to midtown tourist sites. Rooms are spacious by NYC standards and having... More

We were looking for a cheap hotel close to Times Square and this certainly fit the bill. Pros: - the room wasn't huge but was big enough for what we needed. - there was just enough bedding and towels, but more importantly these were replaced daily. - the bathroom was clean and the shower was more powerful than I expected... We stayed because it was close to Times Square and we had tickets for New Years Eve. It is in a good location and walking distance to most attractions but the beds are a little hard and uncomfortable. Some staff members are definitely not suited to jobs in customer service while others were excellent.

I have been staying here every year for 15+ years when I attend the Accessories Show at Javits. I have none of the complaints I am reading. Economical, great beds, safe, clean, fantastic location....wine, grocery (love luxury of refrigerator/microwave in room), deli next door (breakfast bagel the Best), walk to Javits, walk to Times Square for subway, lots of great... Stayed for two nights, January 3 and 4, 2015. Wifi - is not free. I must be an idiot. The term "WiFi Internet available throughout the hotel" does not mean free or included. I believe the 24 hour additional fee is $6.95. Very disappointing, more importantly devious in their web site. Room 512 had been recently renovated. Paint and furnishings... More

We had booked here because of free parking. Had printed out ads on internet which stated this. When we arrived we were told this had changed. I showed the ads and after insisting that these were still first ads that came up when you searched they did not charge. Shower was dark and water temp variable. No heat in 1rst... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
