We chose to stay at the Travel Inn Hotel for one night as we were travelling back to Europe the following day. The location on 42nd street couldn't bee much better. Normally hotels with pools in New York City are way more expensive than the Travel Inn Hotel, so that was definitely a nice surprise. The staff in the lobby... More

Went with family 4 adults, 1 senior and 2 kids. Check in was a breeze - room was ready when we arrived at noon. 5 min walk to Port Authority. All staff were friendly and we were able to leave our bags after check out. Quiet rooms facing pool on 6th floor. Pool was a treat!

Took the bus to the Port Authority and the Travel Inn was only a block away. Was in NYC doing an Off-Broadway play. The location on 42nd Street was just a short walk to my theatre on 45th Street. Check-in was a breeze. The double double room was much larger than expected and the refridgerator was huge compared to other... More

We wanted to stay close to Times Square without paying a huge price. The Travel Inn was perfect. All the things we needed at a most affordable price. Parking for our car as close as you can ever get, nice man to greet us when we arrived with very late notice, room was comfortable and clean, a deli in the... More

Just spent 4 nights here. Lovely pool area which was appreciated in the heat wave. Very clean rooms cleaned every day. Just be careful getting out of the shower, slippy which resulted in a fall. Internet available and ATM. Only 10 minutes from Times Square and 5 minutes to the river. Would stay again

Hotel is clean and tidy but in need of modernisation. Great base just to sleep and only a 10 minute walk to Times Square along 42nd street. Staff helpful but not the most friendly. Great little deli next door for breakfast open from 6.

Last weekend I decided to stay on the west side and picked the Travel Inn. What a pleasant surprise. The hotel is very easy to drive to. You get on Westside highway and turn on 42nd st and you are there. The rooms are decent sized, comparing to the tiny spaces offered by the newer hotels. I stayed in a... More

This was our first stay in New York and overall was ok. Staff were professional though not overly friendly and our room was clean though very dated, particularly the bathroom. Big plus was the central location with a short walk to Times Square.

This hotel has been remodeled and has upgraded rooms. Very clean and has a parking garage next door. Location is midtown Manhattan, so it's close to everything! This hotel has a large outdoor pool. It does have WiFi for $5 a day.

The hotel was about a 10 minute walk to Times Square and Broadway. The only real issue we had was the key cards didn't work to get back into our room. This, they told us, was due to going through security x-rays when we visited places like The Empire State building. A heads-up on that prior to going out would... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
