This hotel is perfectly located and has brilliant staff. I stayed there for 4 days and they did everything possible to make our stay plesant and well. I highly recommend this to anyone travelling to NYC.

I was too excited after reviewing the pictures online and thinking, Wow, this is where they filmed several movies, the Presidents stayed here. First of all let me say if your a Modern Day person, this is totally not the place for you. I arrived thinking that I would be blown away with look of the lobby just from the... More

I stayed just one night in this hotel on my first night ever in NYC back in August 2010 This was my first trip to the States so I wanted to spend a night at the historical Waldorf, as it is in all the old movies etc. Upon arrival, I got out of the limo (yes, I got a limo... More

I stayed at the Waldorf twice in the last year. The most recent stay was the nights of 1/23 and 1/24/2012. As a Hilton Honors member I was upgraded to a superior corner room on the 10th floor. The famous Waldorf Towers have the top floors of the hotel. I don't know how many they have, but most floors are... More

Love NYC, love this hotel. We were one floor below the Presidential Suite and had the most fantastic views over Manhattan.

The Waldorf was on my "bucket list"... it was everything & more, I had anticipated.... The room was Huge, bed sooo comfy & Ferragamo products in the bath. I always travel with my mini poodle, & from the minute we checked in, until we departed, we were treated like royalty. It was fabulous! Thank you WA! I can't wait to... More

I have stayed at only a handful of 5-Star hotels in my travels; two Fairmont properties and a Ritz Carlton as examples. Admittedly, I am primarily a Hilton / Marriott business traveler. On a recent business trip to NYC however, I found that the hotels I was familiar with were all fully booked. Had Expedia not offered a "head-turning" rate... More

This hotel is truly a historical New York landmark with its opulent and grand decor, its famously ornate chiming clock where many a rendez-vous takes place and most significantly it's attentive and capable staff. They are numerous due to the vast size of the hotel but work harmoniously within their fields to ensure an efficient and dedicated level of service... More

My partner booked a surprise Christmas break in New York with a 3 night stay at the Waldorf - I knew it's name of course but thought I'd check out the reviews on here before we arrived: I needn't have worried though - yes, our room was a bit tatty but it was clean and large and airy and furnished... How did this Astoria come to be so far below the standards of other Astoria's and Hilton's? The lobby is fine but beyond that the rooms are shabby with worn carpeting, fixtures and dated bathrooms. Service for HHonours is insulting and the expected standard amenities of a lounge does not exist for it's members. Check in was dismal. There was... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
