My short stay at The Waldorf Astoria left more to be desired. At first glance, the ambiance and setting was fantastic. The location is good and it makes it easy to see many attractions. The room definetly fell short of my expectations. When I first entered the room, I thought that the window was open because the sounds from the... More

After decades of missing NYC at Christmas, we stayed at the Waldorf this past week. We had a king deluxe suite, and was so happy we took the plunge! A bit pricey, but the service, the cleanliness of the suite, friendliness of the staff (housekeepers, bell boys, front desk staff, room service attendants) was by far, outstanding. The Lobby decor... I feel very blessed to have been able to stay at this amazing hotel! The staff was so wonderful...make sure you stop into the lobby bar! ALL of the bartenders were top notch! We're keeping it in mind when we're in the city but don't want to fight the crowds at a another club/bar! We're going to the Waldorf!

Being somewhat "in the industry" it was a childhood dream to stay at this Iconic establishment; entering into the lobby initially truly lived up to everything..... but then hit with the smell of bacon and carvery was a strange touch. To have the sunday brunch, however signature, in the main lobby area when people are checking in after long overnight... More

My husband and I drove into New York from Maryland for an overnight stay with plans for a broadway show and dinner. We found check in to the Waldorf to be easy and hassle free. From the valet parking to the front desk...the entire staff greeted us and offered assistance. During check in, my husband mentioned that we were celebrating... More

The Waldorf is living on its name and not a good value. I am there on a business trip and quite disappointed. Check in service was very slow and my room was not ready at 6 pm. They gave me a drink voucher and said they would text when ready, but never did. My room was quite small and tired.... More

It's hard to top the grand hotels of old New York for elegance and style. From the grand lobby and art deco architectural details, the Waldorf is gorgeous... in the lobby. The rooms are a little on the worn side. Not necessarily bad, but not up to the grandeur of the public spaces in the hotel. The service is impreccable.... More

The Waldorf is considered the epitome of classic, old style NY hotels, The rooms are an OK size for the city and the staff is extremely professional but I guess it is just not our style. Room appointments are dated and worn and the atmosphere is on the "stuffy" side. The location is convenient if you have reason to be... More

We stayed at the Waldorf for 3 nights during December 2011. Lobby is beautiful and was lavishly decorated for Christmas. However, our room was in major need of repairs. Very small (which is ok), old bathroom with peeling paint on the ceiling. Old tub with strange shower set-up. Tiles missing behind the sink and covered with vinyl. Only the heat... More

This is a beautiful and grand hotel with lots of history that deserves its place among the best. Christmas decorations were going up already in the main entrance and very lovely (see photo)Service from maids to bartenders was top-notch(we really liked Tony, the older gentleman who took our bags); the quality of food and beverages (Have Noah the Bartender in...
