We have just returned from a holiday to New England and decided to start our trip with three nights in New York, so we thought where else than the Waldorf. We booked directly with the hotel, but then after visiting the Trip Advisor reviews we were more than a little worried by what we read. No need, we arrived at... more

I know I am late in writing this, but as I have not received any reply from the hotel in over a year after writing to them several times via email and completing their feedback form several times, I want to write about our experience. Hopefully they have renovated by now. This was supposed to have been a wonderful experience... more

We stayed at the Waldorf for 4 nights in April, 2008. I had reviewed the comments on this site, and was skeptical but, we decided to go for it. We are so glad we did! It was absolutely everything we could hope. We had a two room suite which was better than what I expected. The rooms were very well... more

We spent 4 nights at the Waldorf Astoria (WA) in a suite on the 9th floor. We were using travel miles that had accumulated over 9 months time. This was my third trip to NYC, and we loved the WA's location. The lobby and its expanding hallways are magnificantly furnished. The entire place had that "old money" feel. Our checkin... more

We have just returned from a 4 night stay which was booked as a surprise for my birthday. I found about the trip 2 days before we went, came straight on here to check it out and was apprehensive to say the least, after some of the reviews! Get the not so good out of the way first - our... more

What a beautiful Art Deco lobby! ... it seems to be one of the NYC top sights. Get a coffee from Starbucks located next to the Park Avenue entrance and sit down comfortably in the lobby and enjoy. Afterwards leave the paper cup somewhere, on the stairs for example. The staff is so snobby they won't even notice You (unless... more

I very much looked forward to staying at the W=A given that I had heard that they had refurbished the hotel. The common areas, including the ballrooms have been cleaned up to reflect the original style (classic modern architecture) and, while not my style, they did a nice job. The rooms, however seemed to have been overlooked. Wallpaper seams were... more

I really am glad I stayed, but next time I will stay in a newer hotel. Check in was easy and quick all the staff we came across were very friendly. I went to New York with my mum, sister, 2 children and husband. I stayed in a king size room which was bigger than the 2 x double bedroom.... more

3rd May 2008 We have just returned from a week at the Waldrof Astoria, New York. What a fabulous place, without doubt it must be one of the best hotels of its kind in the world. Not a glass and modern minimalistic boring place, but one steeped in history and grandier that you don't find in many places today. When... more

My husband and I had always wanted to stay in NYC around the holidays so we cashed in some Hilton Honors points and stayed at the Waldorf. The building and lobby are beautiful and dramatic. The location can't be beat for all the mid-town touristy sites. However, the room decor could use some updating but was very richly decorated. We... more
