The standard rooms are a good size and offer the expected amenities. Some fittings are a little on the old/worn side, but it is nice that the hotel tries to maintain its original fittings. These rooms are not to be confused with the Waldorf Towers in the same hotel, which are that next step up, which we also stayed in.... More

We recently stayed at this hotel and were very welcomed at the reception desk. Terry Louise (A trainee) from London was very friendly an accommodating. She took a few more minutes to find us the best room - we got a corner room 1787 facing Lexington street with a view of the Chrysler Building and the room was more spacious.... More

Came here for a holiday for 1 week for at Patrick's day. What can I say... Amazing place!! Room was dated but gorgeous, all marble bathroom. Staff were very very attentive, had been emailing patisserie chef in order to surprise loved one for birthday, cake arrived as planned and was out of this world and very special. Room service was... Thanks to Ms. Charnise at the front desk and her manager, my friend and I stayed in a huge one-bedroom suite on the 23rd floor with a view of the Chrysler Building. There was a hiccup with the on-line reservation which was how I booked a room. When I brought it to Charnise's attention she spoke with her manager and... More

The wife loves it for its old charm but in truth the rooms and bathrooms have always been old and a little shabby, great location though. The lobby is a wonderful place and the steps down to Park Avenue are quite dramatic. I passed (former) Mayor Bloomberg on the steps on my first day so it's got to be the... More

We went here to celebrate our 20 wedding anniversary. Hotel is very beautiful & PRICEY throughout. Ask for your complimentary items at check in because staff May not tell you like they did me. Be careful moving items in the mini bar because it's on a sensor and it charges to your credit card immediately so discuss your bill in... More

I stay with my daughter in February. The Hotel is huge maybe too much for us. We were following people to try to find the Breakfast Room in the morning. We were charged 200 dollar for a breakfast for 2 people. We decide then for the following mornings to go to Applebee every instead for wonderful pancakes! The Hotel is so... More

The ambience of the hotel, the size and quality of our room and the extremely high level of service exceeded our expectations. The hotel also provided easy access to theater district, shopping and Grand Central Station. Our only complaint was with the inconsistent wifi service provided for free to Hilton Honors members

It was my first time staying at his heritage property and I wasn't disappointed. The original charm of the building thrives and the staff are helpful and friendly. This was the hotel that invented room service and it has it down. Served within 30 minutes and hot. Would return!

Beautiful hotel with friendly staff. Very plush though we booked a suite so it was to be expected. Extremely helpful staff, received a parcel while I was there. The only downsides were noisy air conditioning units and a huge queue for a seat at the bar (January) though we probably should have booked! Great location too.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
