If you looking for a place to stay that has a past, this is the hotel for you. This hotel was rebuilt in the 30s as the largest and highest hotel in New York City. It is very elegant with a history of many important and famous people staying there. Who knows who slept in the bed you are sleeping... More

I stayed here for 6 nights last week and I have to say that I was a bit on the disappointed side. The hotel lobby is beautiful with lots of marble and brass but beyond that the hotel is a little ragged. I'm a Hilton Platinum member and I was very disappointed that I was not upgraded. I was put... Stayed here for 5 nights commencing March 21st, 2015 and this hotel is simply beautiful. Elegance personified. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Admittedly it may appear dated to others but for me this just added to the charm. Quick check in and check out and the staff were very helpful. Great location too. Perfect!

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights. The staff were all very helpful and polite and Tim who checked us in was brilliant in the upgrade he gave us and personally showed us to our room in the Towers. I won't disclose the details behind the upgrade, for obvious reasons, but suffice to say he was very polite... More

This hotel is now tired and requiring refurbishment. The air conditioning was not working, the doors have been over and over and over painted and are now cracking, only one power point in the room in an inconvenient place low down; the other power points were used for stand lights. to add to this the plaster was falling off the... The hotel lobby and guest amenities are classic and beautiful. The history is wonderful, obviously. However, actually being a guest wasn't as pleasant as I thought it would be, and the luxurious feeling left once I stepped into my hotel room. The rooms are outdated and not kept up well. People will say,"Of course they rooms are out dated; the... More

Albeit my stay was for one night, I still expected more from the infamous Waldorf in NY. (I stayed here many years back) The staff was friendly, but not overly helpful. I was offered no assistance with my huge suitcase. I had hoped to get information about the spa and restaurants, none was offered and after such a long stay... More

Dear Renee, Thank you for your comments. While I am thrilled that you had an experience that reflected a high standard of luxury, the fact that your review contained negatives does not meet the expectation. I apologize that we were unable to inspire a 5-star review! Our check-in process was designed to be as quick as possible while still providing... More

Stayed in the Waldorf 20-27 March. This is an experience not to be missed. A Grand Hotel with a real sense of history about it. Check in took minutes and we were allocated a superior guest room on the 21st floor. We had a corner room (2139) with a fantastic view of the Chrysler Building. The room was in good... More

We had a delightful stay at this historical landmark. The location, service, accommodations, room amenities were all excellent! Our stay there brought us back in time with its beautiful Art Deco decor. Breakfast at Oscars brasserie is a must! The price meets the experience.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
