The hotels is ideally located for business travelers with meetings in the midtown area. As a bonus it is very close to Grand Central for those needing to go to CT from NYC. The room was small but it had a walk in closet. Maid service was very good but the room had peeling wallpaper. Overall the room was comfortable... More

Being in NYC for the holiday season - there's just something magical in the air! And the Waldorf epitomizes that. I have been going with my family since I was a little kid and it's still just as magical. The piano, the decorative lobby, the always dapper and elegant staff and of course the elaborate accommodations - every part of... More

Used award nights from Citi Reserve HH cards for this stay. If I had paid rack rates I would have been furious. Check in was with a very cold CSR. Diamond status was not recognized other than to get two $20 drink certs. Beautiful Art Deco common areas, but the room was positively beat. They are supposed to turn this... More

Stayed a week here and really enjoyed it. The location is very central with many museums and Times Square within walking distance. Beds are very comfortable and firm. Rooms are large. Ask for a room in the corner and you get windows on both sides. Price is steep but this is NYC isn't it. Staff was quite friendly and helpful.... More

Old world class and charm are the best way to describe this hotel. The suite in the Towers was beautiful and spacious but it was the work and kindness of the staff of the hotel that really made the stay so perfect. Our concierge was even so kind as to have a Waldorf Teddy Bear delivered to our room for... More

On business or pleasure this is the best bet. Dependable service, lovely surroundings, a 'city' within a block, a block within a city, an absolute star in the crown of Manhattan. This is a full-service hotel with the very best amenities. Everyone should experience the Waldorf at least once, but if you go often it will become your hotel and... More

Though the hotel is a bit dated, it's location can't be beat! It is within walking distance of everything we were interested in ...Museum of Modern Art, Central Park, Rockefeller Center, The Gershwin Theater. There are plenty of restaurants right outside the door and shopping galore! If you can get a good rate, this is a very good option in... More

Beautiful heritage hotel. We had a 2 room suite which overlooking Park Avenue. The service was out of this world with friendly staff in every area-reception, doorman, housekeeping, etc. No problem cashing traveller's cheques @ reception. The only 2 draw backs were $18.95 per day for wifi in your room & no fridge/coffee maker. Would definitely stay again even though... More

From the moment we arrived the service was second to none. The room was very spacious and in a classical style - if you're looking for modern accommodation this is not the place for you, our room was ready on arrival despite this being a few hours early. The location was great, close to grand central and subway stations and... More

Wow, what an amazing hotel. The service is second to none. The gym was top notch. The room was spotless. The beds were comfortable. The one word to describe this hotel is elegance. You must visit this hotel at least once in your lifetime. It is worth the price.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
