Our family spent nearly a week at the hotel last month and it was marvelous. The service, from the front desk to the housekeeping staff, could not have been better and the rooms were impeccable. The location was perfect, as well.

Although the hotel is old it was "grand" Fantastic lobby, great breakfast at Oscars and our bedroom was massive. We were VERY impressed. Room was clean and tidy and made up in a timely fashion. We really felt spoilt and part of history!

Stayed 2 nights at the historic Waldorf in June 2015. Used parking $, Great front desk service, got 4 drink coupons and 2 rooms across the hall from each other. Bell man was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Fireplace in room for effect. Great view of Chrysler Building. Did not eat in restaurant. Close to Grand Central & subway...make sure to... More

I chose the Waldorf Astoria for a very special trip to New York and I was not disappointed. The staff were all fantastic, so helpful and really made us feel welcome and special. Being in this beautiful hotel is enough of an experience but to add the excellent service and atmosphere made this trip unforgettable. So many wonderful memories, from... More

As other reviewers have mentioned, this hotel is not the same jewel it once was. When we arrived at the hotel at 3:00 pm, the hotel lobby was jammed with people and their suitcases just standing around waiting on their rooms. We were told that our room wasn't ready yet and that we'd need to wait a few minutes (even... More

Dear Erin R, That Sunday brunch IS the best- I agree. Great presentation and as you mentioned the price becomes most understandable when your recognize the high quality of the cuisine. I'm glad you met Frank in the Peacock Alley bar. He is wrapping up authorship of The Waldorf Astoria Bar Book- likely to be published in Spring of 2016... More

We arrived at the Waldorf Astoria and the check in process was quick and easy. We used the hotel parking ($65) for 24 hours (no in and out service) It seemed that the person checking us in was going out of his way to place us in the best available room possible. We were given two free drink passes to... More

Dear World T Your review is thoughtful in its composition and gives me several aspects to work on. Thank you. If I may, please know our midweek days are generally very compressed and indeed it is our expectation to sell every room just about every night. Of course that does not mean your special occasion or the fact that the... More

My self and daughter stayed here as a surprise for her 18th birthday. We were greater by the door man with a big smile and a welcome. Our check in was quite quick, we had booked a superior room but was offered an upgrade for $50 as we were Hilton members. Our room was on the 17th floor and had... More

Dear Mandie 1 Thank you for the great comments. I hope you continue to bring your daughter back for many more birthdays, albeit it gets harder to induce family travel as they get older. Maybe the granddaughter some day??? Regards, David O' Keeffe Front Office Manager More

Our experience of staying at the Waldorf Astoria was incredible! From the moment you walk in the front doors greeted by a bell hop that carries your suitcases up the marble stairs to the beautiful lobby that stands before you. Check in was easy with the help of Charise and Agnes who upgraded us to a junior suite - complementary!... More

The ambiance in the lobby and the bars is superb as is the customer service. Location of the hotel is excellent as it is very close to subway stops and is within easy walking distance to a number of different hot spots. Unfortunately, I found the room to be lacking. It was extremely small and, while very clean with all... More

Having seen much of the New York Hotel scene - I was very pleasantly surprised to experience the Waldorf Astoria. Mainly in part to the front desk manager Ron who went above and beyond to make my stay memorable, enjoyable and most importantly made me feel very welcome in such a large hotel. I would come back without hesitation. My... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
