The room was fantastic, more like a mini suite, the bed was so comfortable and it was lovely and clean. The hotel itself was full of period features, old photos of famous guests from bygone era and the clock that chimed every quarter of an hour. When we were leaving we waited for the go link bus to the airport... More

when we travel to New York we usually always stay at the Waldorf. Never disappointed. Although this time our room definitely showed a little wear and tear! Wallpaper behind TV cabinet was coming off the wall. Chair for desk console was in dire need of some padding! As always staff accommodating and pleasant. Think wifi is a charge. Ours is... More

This is a classic hotel. Renowned world-wide for the ultimate stay in Manhattan. Presidents, Royalty, famous personalities & movie stars have all stayed here. And you can too, just like we did. Don't expect quick check-in or check-out. There is a line almost constantly. At least in August. Don't expect a cheap cup of coffee ($9 at the restaurant) or... More

This was my wife and I's third stay at the Waldorf. We have always been pleased with the rooms, the restaurant, and the fact that it's just far away enough from Broadway to make it seem like a vacation, but close enough to walk. Great experience......

Invited family from South Carolina to a weekend in NYC and they chose this landmark for a pampered stay. The lavish lobby and exquisite shops certainly made them feel like they were very special indeed. The suite was elegant and spacious. They loved the little NYC things that you don't see everywhere, like the small collection of books in the... More

You just can't top the service at this hotel! Wonderful staff willing to go above and beyond. The lobby and amenities are just amazing, too. Clean, spacious and relaxing rooms with a good size bathroom as well. Only (slight) negative was that I was in a deluxe room and some items showed their age, but honestly that is expected in... I went to NYC for my 40th birthday, and chose the Waldorf based off it's outstanding reputation. The LOCATION was EXCELLENT! Right on Park Ave, I walked to Central Park and Times Square, etc. The BED was EXTREELY COMFORTABLE. However, there was a long, black hair on top of the bed upon checking in. Okay, no biggie. The room was...... More

A very disappointing stay at the Waldorf. The rooms are in need of a full refurbishment and are dirty amongst other things. Some of the front of house staff are rude and one member of staff tried to charge me an additional 50 dollars per night for the room. After moving 4 times l managed to have the extra amount... More

Dear Jayne D, I am very sorry we disappointed. We are known for providing unparalleled service to our guests, and after many reviews citing this level of True Waldorf Service, I do not know what could have gone wrong to inspire such negative sentiment. Our front office team is often able to upgrade our valued guests at the time of... More

My wedding dress was stolen from the parking garage of the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in NYC when my husband and I stayed there the night after our wedding for our honeymoon. After speaking with just about everyone in the hotel, hotel security, the hotel insurance company, and the parking garage, i was told that I would receive a call stating... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
