Our stay at the Grande Dame is amazing thus far. Our excellent client service started with Wayne at the front desk, who provided a friendly and efficient check in and orientation of the hotel. Our room is gorgeous and beautifully appointed. It is my mother's first time here and it hasn't disappointed. Delightful and I am eager to return!

From the time you drive into their garage till the time you are escorted back to your car, after several nights, there is not a time you do not feel like an appreciated guest of the Waldorf Astoria. The staff and the accommodations are nothing less then the Best.

My bullet point review for the Waldorf Astoria POSITIVE A classic New York landmark, that respects the feel of it's history by conserving it's decor. Location is great, everything is within reasonable distance. The hotel was very clean for it's age. The room size is reasonable for New York and the bed was comfortable. The bar was very nice and... Dear HG56, Thank you for your review. It is wonderful to read that you enjoyed so many things about our hotel, though it is most disappointing to read your comments about our service. From your review it appears we did perform at a high level, but not high enough insofar as some of the elements you referenced in room condition.... More

we have enjoyed the waldorf before and will again. but a $95/person brunch? no slippers or bathtub plug and peeling paint on the bathroom door, exorbitant parking. i inadvertently left my pocketbook in the room at checkout. when we returned to retrieve it - a quick phone call to security (which first routed through dallas?) assured told us that it... The Waldorf Astoria is undoubtedly one of the most iconic hotels in the whole of New York City. However, this once luxurious property is long passed it's best. The hotel is in desperate need of refurbishment and it's still somehow clinging on to it's five star reputation. Whilst the lobby and reception areas are every bit as grand as you... More

Dear DifferentClaz, Thank you for choosing our hotel as your host for your recent visit to NYC. It is great to read that you were impressed with our Sunday Brunch offering and our soaring public spaces, but I do regret that you were underwhelmed with your room appointment. All can agree that we'll need investment in structural improvements and as... More

The wow effect of the decor etc is huge. It is a very big hotel but you are not aware of this as you move around it. Check in was fine but our friend's room was miles away from ours despite having booked together and having emailed to ask for them to be close together. They did manage to find... More

I stayed at the Waldorf Astoria in NYC for a long weekend and had an exceptional stay! The room was full-on luxury, from the soft robe to the upscale toiletries. Would definitely stay here again. Nice location which is just a short walk from Grand Central Terminal.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
