A really beautiful iconic hotel with all the grandeur one would expect. The staff cannot do enough. My only gripe was that we were put in a room on 11 th floor number 1135 backed onto the lift shaft, no need to explain. We were moved twice after an eaqually noisy room, to a suite on 19th floor 1909. To... More

Recently booked into the Waldorf with my wife and parents on a joint 25th and 50th wedding anniversary and I have to say it was a truly wonderful experience.we were upgraded to the towers on the 41st floor and from start to finish we were treated like royalty by the hotel and especially the lovely Siobhan Delaney who could not... We took the Kings superior room and we love it! Service is great, room is big and we just feel lucky to stay in a place with so much history... The powder room is the size of a regular hotel room. Many nice French restaurants and patisseries around.

We loved our stay at The Waldorf Astoria. The Art Deco public rooms are beautiful and there is a constant buzz. The staff were efficient and helpful. Our room was well equipped and large but desperately needed refurbishment with a cracked basin and loo. However we loved our stay and would have given it 5 stars if they had included... More

To be honest, I am this hotel didn't have the WOW factor we were expecting. We have been lucky enough to stay in some amazing hotels around the world, and this would not be in our top 10. Don't get me wrong, it was a lovely old hotel and we enjoyed our stay, but we were expecting it to be... More

Thank goodness we decided to stay at the Waldorf, it's gives you that old classic feel. The rooms are spacious and wonderfully appointed. Plus the staff are all very friendly, courteous and helpful. Can't hear the hustle and bustle of the city from the room which is a great plus. Location is just perfect, centrally located. Close to the Grand... More

Everything has been written about the Waldorf Astoria: it was for many years the largest hotel in the world, and it's still one of the best. Just two things: the perfectly preserved Art Deco style throughout, and the photographs of the guest through 80 years of history, from Kings and Queens, to Presidents and heads of states and famous actors,... First off, you need to go for the right reason. This for us was to stay at an iconic and historic ny landmark. The lobby and its bar was buzzing every night andHarry's bar is great for a drink before and after the night out. The room was large with a wonderful bed and nice large separate living area and... The hotel lobby is nice and the staff was friendly. The room, which I was told was an upgrade, was very small even for NYC. The room was vey clean and the bedding very comfortable. The bath tub was all chipped up but we just covered it up with the shower mat.

My husband (a Hilton Honors Diamond member) and I stayed for 4 nights recently and enjoyed staying at the iconic hotel. Sure it's not modern, flashy and contemporary but if that's what you are looking for you've not done your research on the property. And it is worth noting that we have stayed at 4 other Waldorf Properties elsewhere so... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
