I expected the hotel to be a bit worn from some of the reviews. I stayed in a corner suite, while not my favorite architectural style, that was very nice and comfortable. As a bonus it had great view of the Chrysler building. The bed with the pillow selection was great. The only downside was the additional charge for wi-fi... More

We had a Signature Suite which was absolutely beautiful. Friendly staff, beautiful surroundings and terrific location. The downsides were that the thermometer didn't work, and if I hadn't checked in online beforehand I'd be waiting in a long line with everybody else to check in.Guests were very upset and they should be. Hilton must be too cheap to hire more... More

Went for my dads 90 th birthday. His favorite hotel. It was gilded. Plush and nice. Had a great time. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Well worth the stay. Always a cab in front of the hotel so getting around was simple.

Was amazed walking into the lobby at the ornate carvings and the beautiful bar with piano playing at happy hour. Not amazed by the internet which cut in and out or the random hotel staff who harassed me at 10AM demanding to know when I was going to leave as I was wrapping up some work before leaving for the... It has been a dream of mine to stay for years; luckily our daughter wanted to go to NYC for her 21st. I booked a suite as there were 3 of us and it was lovely to have the sitting room to relax in post sightseeing. I had asked the hotel to mark the occasion if possible and she was... More

The lobby is very nice. The rooms are very clean. The beds are comfortable. We had some peeling wallpaper along the windows in our room and the door to the bathroom has begun to crack through the paint. The location is excellent but everything is just a subway ride away in NYC! The hotel hosted 2 black tie events during... More

Dear PhatCatz, It is wonderful to see that you enjoyed your visit to our hotel on the whole. Our seemingly never-ending circuit of galas in the Grand Ballroom certainly does lend itself to an unforgettable people-watching experience! You never know who you will run into at the Waldorf. Our guest rooms continue to be an area for improvement for us.... More

Old style and tradition is alive here. It is a very nice hotel. We had a De Luxe room at a Senior rate (room 1471). The room was quite big and it functioned well. Floor 14 could us a little "shine up" in the corridors. Cleaning throughout the floor was also not convincing! Staff in The Waldorf us generally veryhelpful... More

I have wanted to violist the Waldorf NY for many years and at last we made the trip. Stayed for a week, 1 night would have been enough. Sometimes long queues at desks & staff not always helpful - Except Andrew, whoever he was he was an utterly charming consierge Fantastic history, beautiful public areas but just lacking something in... Dear SheltieBeltie, Thank you for choosing the Waldorf Astoria as your host for your recent visit to New York City. Please know that we expend more as a... More

My husband and I visited NYC for a long weekend in March. We stayed one night in the Waldorf Astoria. Thankfully, it was only one night. We had a corner room and I enjoyed looking out and people watching. I did not enjoy looking across into the office building across the street, but I guess that's NYC. The room was... More

Dear luvdiz, Thank you for letting us know that you enjoyed your one night spent here. Our ample-sized rooms are certainly a treat by New York standards, and we’re glad that you found them spacious and comfortable. As you may have heard from various media reports, there does indeed appear a strong chance a major restoration will occur sooner rather... More

Almost beginning to admire this old lady! Our third visit now, although the previous stay had been pretty dire for a number of reasons, which prompted a complaint and in fairness a return response to revisit, in order to restore our faith in the Waldorf, together with the offer of upgrading to their New York suite, diamond checkin etc etc.... Dear Jane O, I am so glad to see your review and find that we performed at a high level this time! Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
