While the public areas still declare grandeur and beauty, the rooms are shabby, outdated and low below the standard of expectations from such class. Service is good. "traffic" in the public areas reminds of busy train station. Oscar serves the best breakfast in NY. Rates are not justified.

The Waldorf Astoria has a beautiful lobby featuring mosaics, marble pillars, and fine shopping. This hotel in an area of New York City that is in walking distance of Central Park, the Theater District, Times Square, and Rockefeller Center. The rooms are spacious, though they have not been remodeled for some time. Despite the older decor, the hotel has a... More

Dear C W, Thank you for your kind words about our beautiful lobby and the lovely room accommodation you enjoyed during your recent stay. Many of our rooms have a huge appeal in terms of size, which you will not find in many other hotels in our area. As I think you captured in your review, our hotel offers many... More

$120 Breakfast for Two was served 16 minutes late and bacon had consistency of rubber. When you pay so much you expect timely service and high quality ingredients. Check-in was extremely slow despite my HHONORS status. Waldorf-Astoria only seems to care about Diamond members, Gold membership no longer carrying any benefits. Noisy construction work going on outside did start at... More

Dear Michael, I am sorry that we failed to impress. While your rating shows that there were positives to your stay, we regret that these did not merit a mention in the body of your review. As Waldorf aficionados will know, our in-room dining team handles more volume than many major restaurants insofar as many of our most elegant groups... More

My fiance and I decided to really treat ourselves for her first trip to New York City. We got tickets for the Lion King and had a full day planned. The staff at the Waldorf were AMZING! From the bellmen to the desk staff to the folks working the gift shop, these people were awesome. The hotel is older, but... More

As it appears with the head. I was a guest in the towers and had an incredible experience. Every staff member from the butler till the manager was polite and had this amazing zeal to help and provide what is demanded. The separated entry,check-in,even the elevators is just as good as it's clientele. The suite 33* was my room and... More

My family and I traveled to NYC for spring break. We stayed at the Waldorf Astoria 3/18-3/22/15. Check in was easy and fast. We stayed in a Luxury Guest Room. We were very impressed with the size and beauty of our room. We received excellent service. The staff goes over and beyond to make sure your needs are met. I... More

Stayed 4 nights in a deluxe room (1924) was a bit anxious because of the odd poor review and never been to New York before. It was superb! The position is excellent for exploring the city. The lobby is beautiful in its Art Deco styling with Cole Porters piano and the old clock in the centre. Our room was perfect... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
