Stayed here for four nights on business last month and for the most part enjoyed it, with some issues along the way. The Good: Big corner room with classic décor, nice carved wood sitting chairs, comfortable bed, small walk in closet with lights. Nice bed linens and towels. Bathroom had a very large (OLD) tub and the shower had great... More

A great american landmark. Beautiful public rooms ($19 for a glass of wine at the bar though) History abound. The location is less than it was (as the geographic center of NY has shifted west). Still one of the best. The guest rooms are much less spectacular than the public rooms as they are very tight even in suites.

My first trip to New York so I wanted to stay at the famous Waldorf Astoria. The hotel lobby is amazing but always extremely busy. I am sure the very expensive suites are very grand and luxurious but the average room isn't. The one I had needed refurbishing. The staff always gave the impression that you shouldn't bother them. Would... More

What can you say about one of the world most well know hotels, that hasn’t been said before. What I can say is the Wonderful Waldorf Astoria lived up to its name and reputation. It’s a living museum right in the heart of New York, & after flying in from Australia I was so looking forward to or stay &... More

I stayed here 7 or so years ago and remember the stay being fantastic...sadly not so much this time. I love the history and age of the property and the service remains top rate. Sadly, this property has become an aging old lady that needs some work. If you have read my other reviews there are two things I comment... More

We spent 2 wonderful nights in this well kept historical gem and it was everything and more than I could have expected. Staff was extremely friendly, courteous, and accommodating. The architecture and old style are enough to sell the property on it's own, the room and bathroom we had was huge by NYC standards with a fireplace and view of... More

We arrived at the iconic Waldorf Astoria a few days before our Central Park wedding. We loved our historic suite on the 8th floor - the separate living area and bedroom allowed some space for us to work on our vows (hand-written on hotel stationery - what a keepsake!). When we returned to the hotel following our private ceremony and... More

I checked in and immediately smelled mold in the room. I stayed in for 20 minutes or so and called the desk to change rooms. The Front desk person transferred me to Guest Relations who told me he was going to send housekeeping to look into. I left the room and told them I was going to be back at... More

We booked this hotel based on its reputation as one of the Grand old hotels offering 5 star service. It was a special trip being our first time in NY and to celebrate a 50th birthday. It was so important to make this trip special and we had high expectations. I even wrote to the hotel bookings manager 2 weeks... More
