I got a great deal through Continental, booking flight and hotel together for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. I compared pricing with the Plaza and found a suite at the Waldorf to be about half the price, having stayed here in June of 2008 and enjoying the experience, I decided to stay here again. We stayed on the Lexington side... more

Over the last 20 years we've stayed at many hotels in NYC. Coming in from CT for Broadway weekends our thing is to stay at different hotels and try various restaurants in order to soak up the essence of NY. When we saw the special Waldorf rate it was time to experience the best. For $219 we upgraded to the... more

We stayed here for a week while visiting New York. We parked in the hotel and upon arrival our bags were removed and car was parked within minutes. Reception: Excellent service, fast efficient and very helpful Room: We had a corner room which was quite big by NY standards. It included a large walk-in wardrobe that accommodated all of our... more

my wife and i booked this hotel for our honeymoon as we got married on 31/12/2008. prior to our arrival we made a point of informing the reservations desk that it was our honeymoon and we had hoped they would make an effort to make our stay memorable, they made it memorable, but for all the wrong reasons. 1.very badly treated when... more

Just stayed for a 4th of July 2009 visit to NY at the Waldorf. Have previously stayed at the Ritz, Palace, the Sherry Netherland and before renovation, the Plaza. Thought were getting a great deal for a single room - King for under $300 per night. Not so. We were on the Lexington side of the building (no view -... more

It was great, but also expensive...If money is not playing a big role for you, you should try it! Very beautiful grand hotel and one of the oldest! more

Outstanding from the great check in staff to the staff in the hallways. This hotel that was once owned by George Bolt of Bolt Castle fame on the St. Lawrence River(now mostly restored) lives up to it's previous reputation for greatness. The rooms bring you back to a time of pure elegance and fine service. From gold fixtures to wonderful... more

What an amazing honeymoon, being in New York was fantastic staying at the Waldorf Astoria, Park Avenue was everything we expected from a 1930's iconic building as beautiful inside as outside. From the moment we walked into the foyer through the grand marbled corridor to the reception area we felt back in the era of Ginger Rogers, Lana Turner and... more

Excellent old hotel with a "character", not comparable to the most other hotels in this price range: simply a "must have stayed"! Centrally located in midtown. Smooth check-in and -out. I stayed in the "Astoria level" (26th floor) in a clean and very spacious room; breakfast (on the same floor) was included in my price. Fantastic furniture in all rooms!... more

We were excited to stay at the historical Waldorf Astoria, to look at the pictures and marvel at the beautiful decor in the lobby - and it was very interesting to see and read about the history... but the charm ended there. Our room was small and in need of being renovated, the drinks/ food were very overpriced, as expected,... more
