I picked this hotel as a family break. The foyer of the hotel is grand, the checkin is slow and poor. When we were given the keys to our two rooms and went up in the lift as we got to our floor WHAT a come down. It was like a 1930s bed and breakfast. The paint was dull the... more
I could not believe our suite. I made reservations 2 months in advance and requested a large suite. Our suite was large, but that was it. It had 2 1980 TV's, no flat screen, When I complained, they put in flat screens, but they did not work. The electrical work in the room needs upgrading. The bathroom tiles were coming... more
The Waldorf Astoria lives up to it's reputation as a world renowned hotel. From the moment you enter the hotel you are aware of the service that you will receive. The rooms are lovely with city views and offer everything that you could possibly require. The decor had a traditional English vibe which I loved. The main pro of this... more
I travel to New York frequently on business and stay at the Waldorf as often as possible. The rooms are quite spacious (especially by New York standards!), well decorated, and comfortable. We booked the Waldorf Astoria in New York for 4 nights on the last leg of a family holiday to America after researching the hotel website and in particular the guest rooms which looked lovely in the photos and were described as "luxurious guest rooms". They were also described as "cheerful bedrooms with oversized marble bathrooms which give our rooms... more
NO room ready after travel from Europe and made a special request for an early check in months in advance. Told to change in the public bathroom off the lobby to reach walking clothes and shoes. An abrupt angry black man at the concierge desk told us to change now or he was taking our luggage..NOW! So we flung it... more
Stayed on the 7th floor, Park Ave side and found the room to be spotless. Could be the room has been redone lately as it had a flat screen TV and was in excellent condition. Have stayed here in the past and have always had a great room. It was a business trip but the location has always been perfect... more
I met my best friend and her parents in NY in the middle of my tour across Canada and stayed in this amazing hotel! First time in new york, amazing location with a starbucks restaurant and bar in the hotel and a few minutes walk from times square this is definitely a great choice. very spacious bedrooms with ensuite, lcd... more
I'm afraid our stay at the Waldorf was very much marked by our check-in experience. I booked and paid for a superior king room 6 months before our arrival. We checked in at 7pm. The receptionist found our booking and quickly allocated our room. However, when she handed us the keys, she quickly mentioned our "Queen room". We pointed out... more
