When Ian Schrager opened the Philippe Starck designed Royalton Hotel in the late ‘80s, he was a pioneer in the designer boutique hotel niche. The Royalton was to hotels what Studio 54 was to night clubs, the place to see and be seen. We first stayed at the Royalton in 1990 and enjoyed it immensely. We recently returned and were... More

Love this hotel! Staff members were so helpful. The lobby area is visually appealing, and the people are eager to assist customers! My husband and I can't wait to plan our next stay! Especially helpful staff members were: BK, Phillip, and Marcos.

Everything nice, great location in Midtown, good atmosphere, only the interior and the bathrooms need to get through some makeover. Suggestion for summer-stays: have breakfast in Bryant's Park, just around the corner, pick your coffee and croissant from the "Pain Quotidien"-Pavillion!

The staff was very helpful doing their best to resolve a matter I submitted to the reservation center way before my arrival and no one inform the hotel. Special thanks to Marcos, at the reception. I usually stayed at the SML and the Sanderdon and i was expecting the same quality of services at the Royalton but I was a... More

After living in NYC for many years, then moving out of state, my husband and I were thrilled to return to our city and stay at the Royalton. Positives: 1. The lounge renovations look great 2. Front desk was polite and personable, as was bellman/valet 3. The room was lovely, clean, great bed, quiet, bath products- though dark 4. Location!... More

The midtown location was great for our theater weekend, the room was delightful - cozy but with room to spread out and was very quiet. The staff was helpful and kind. The lobby was full of energy and had a sophisticated feel.

The Royalton is very conveniently located, and the lobby/bar is a very comfy and refined space, where excellent cocktails are served. Unfortunately, the air conditioning system in the rooms is VERY loud, and it is difficult to sleep, even with earplugs. Service was great, except the doorman wasn't very helpful when we needed a taxi cab.

Hello there Maxi3milien. We're so glad you loved our lobby/lounge area where you got to enjoy one of our delicious cocktails. However, I really do apologize about the noisy AC unit. When something like this happens, please let the front desk know immediately so we can change your room for you. We want you to get rest; that's why you're... More

Rooms are too small and narrow lacking charm and comfort. Bed is low to the floor, rooms are peculiarly configured with much wasted space, and the lobby unnecessarily noisy all day. All the described attributes would be tolerable at lower rates.

Hi there Pearlmutha. Thank you for writing a review regarding your last stay at Royalton. I'm very sorry you did not have an exceptional experience with us. If you have traveled throughout NYC before, our rooms actually are pretty large for the New York standard. Space is a premium in this beautiful city! Also, Royalton is a boutique hotel and... More

This is a trendy hotel in mid-town New York City. It is a great location if you have business in the area. The room was clean and the staff were polite and courteous. I had breakfast and dinner there on one day only and it was ok - not too many selections for those who are lactose intolerant. There are... More

Greetings DoneSailing. Thank you for reviewing your last stay with us here at Royalton. It seems like you enjoyed your visit however I do apologize that the lighting seemed to be a challenge for you. Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
