First trip back to the Royalton in some time (still good check out my previous review). It's still the uber chic dark bat cave of old. If you want bright and breezy this is not for you! If you like urban edge, dark mood lighting and a chilled vibe this is your speed. Anyhow I just stayed 3 nights after... More

Dark lobby, cozy, and warm. I had a large room, which looked new - though felt like something was missing. Poor lighting. Dark hallways - felt like I was in a submarine. Room service wasn't that good. Location was great. Staff was very nice. Drinks were good...but on a busy day, bar service Very Slow! Would recommend.

I'm one of those people who just doesn't "get" NYC. As such, I don't often go and when I do it's usually just a quick in-and-out trip. This weekend was special, it was our anniversary, we had theater tickets, dinner plans and also wanted to go see the tree at Rockefeller Center. First off, the hotel's location was perfect! It's... I stayed here with my daughter for a few days in January 2015. We chose to stay here purely because I received a special offer from Secret Sales which made it sufficiently cheaper than the Andaz 5th Avenue and the Hyatt Union Square (both of which we love) to make it wort branching out. Once you're past the anonymous-looking front... More

LOVED staying at the Royalton and recommend everyone stay here at least once even if you're a local! If you don't stay here, at least go to their bar and have a drink. Really awesome cocktails and great staff. Highly recommended. Spacious rooms, great bath and amenities combined with a super cool vibe = win. Bryan W. (General manager) was... More

Stayed at the Royalton the weekend of MLK, first time at Royalton and it won't be my last. Great size rooms compared to the norm in NYC. Bathrooms are very spacious and the rainfall shower is so relaxing/hot, especially when is 19 degrees outside. We are senstive sleepers when it comes to light, the rooms are complete blackouts when the... More

Just got back from a fantastic stay at the Royalton. I booked a Loft Suite, but was given an upgrade upon arrival - the room was great (especially the HUGE bathtub). The staff was incredibly attentive, and assisted with ordering Thai food to the room, lighting the fireplace, and providing a bucket of ice for Champagne. Overall, I would highly... More

I've now been to New York several times and stayed in several Midtown hotels, however, I've now decided that from now on I will always try and stay at The Royalton! I find the rooms to be a good size and nicely done. I find the staff to be warm, friendly and professional. I like the bar and the breakfast.... More

The Royalton made our stay in NYC perfect! From the second we got there, we felt so invited and comfortable. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the staff is incredibly friendly. We originally booked with Hotel Tonight to go for two nights while my boyfriend was taking his MCAT in the city. While he was at his MCAT, I asked... More

I chose Royalton from Secret & because of good reviews. My friend and I were attending.. the Fleetwood Mac Concert. I requested 2 beds and upgraded the room. The room had a queen size bed and a leaky, running toilet but as it was only one night so we made the best of it. Did tell front desk about the... More

Hi MegTaylor10, Thank you for joining us at Royalton. I am sorry you didn't receive prompt service at the our bar, it can be a very bustling venue, and I assure you our bartenders don't have a preference on the age of our patrons as long as they are 21 and up. We would love to make it up to... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
