This was my first stay at the Royalton, and it's in a great location, quiet, but still near everything. There was a doorman when we arrived, though missing when I left the next day, leaving me to get my large heavy luggage down the stairs by myself. The lobby area is very nice, sunken with couches and fireplaces, obviously a... More

I had a one night stay here on the final leg of a US business trip and I would definitely recommend The Royalton to anyone looking for a smart hotel in NYC. The rooms are relatively small but an excellent use of space means that there is comfortably room for a desk and best of all a walk in shower.... More

Of course Trip Adviser did not exist then, nor did the internet or dial phones, but 53 years ago what the first time I stayed at the Royalton with my parents, who were in NYC for an anniversary dinner and show. We were ditched at the hotel (Very risky idea for 2 young boys aged 7 and 9) and our... More

A deep thank you to BK and the staff for an absolutely perfect and seamless long weekend for my wife's and my 10th Anniversary. While there are certainly more expensive options in Midtown, there isn't a more refined, yummy, comfy or elegant one. Our Alcove Suite was perfect - and the bed was divine. We used the round soaking tub... More

Comfy bed and pillows. Clean room and clean hotel in general. Helpful staff. Only complaint is that all the lighting in the room is mood lighting. The best bright light was in the shower. The bar/dining area is attractive, again all mood lighting, but very noisy.

Hi Louolou3! We’re so happy you had a fabulous stay at Royalton and enjoyed your room. We do have some of the most comfortable beds! I do apologize that you didn't seem to like the mood lighting. We are currently working on getting brighter bulbs to illuminate our rooms. Our bar and lounge area gets very busy during the weeknights!... More

Every detail in my suite was amazing, the adjustable low level lighting, the delicious world class shower and bathroom, bath robe, candles and even the luxury desk chair made it like you were working from your own private spa. I had some relaxation music on my itunes that i used to finish the mood (remote speakers would be awesome).

Central location and great environment. Room and service excellent and polite. Bar service a little slow but bar food is good. Bar is busy every night and suitable for office meet ups but not families. Will use without doubt next time I'm back in NYC

Very convenient hotel for all the sights. Comfortable room and very helpful staff. We didn't eat in the hotel but the bar was very good. Room on the small side but the bath/shower was spectacular! East to pick up taxi to take us to JFK airport.

In a useful midtown location, this hotel has an ultra-cool lobby/bar (though the lighting is so low that I walked straight past the reception desk without seeing it), and chic rooms. I last stayed here in 2001, and mercifully the bathrooms -- which are an absolute design classic -- appear to have been kept the same (though I mourned the... More

Greetings! Thank you for taking the time to write a review regarding your recent stay. We are thrilled you came back to Royalton to join us again. We renovated our lobby in the early 2000’s so we (sadly) do not have the Champagne bar in the front anymore. However, our lounge and bar area is still lively as ever! While... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
