I stayed at the Royalton for four nights in late October. I found all of the staff very welcoming, pro-active, friendly and accommodating with the exception of one clearly bored employee. Great location in Midtown Manhattan. Staff was friendly. We were wowed by the lobby ambiance. The experience was not so good once we made it to our room. As the other reviews say; location is great and probably the hotel's best asset. It's on the same street as the Sofitel and Algonquin so it's one of the best places to stay in the middle of Manhattan. 5th Avenue is on one side. Times Sq the other. Location was good, rooms were a good size, very clean although a little sparse. The bathroom was luxurious and very modern. The lobby was dark at commented in other reviews but this didn't detract from the ambiance of the hotel.
