Stayed recently on a business trip - my second stay there. Very special hotel - this is not your run of the mill Sheraton/Marriott/Hilton/Hyatt. Think of it as a throwback to the classic NYC hotel. Very nice, with some annoying aspects. Depending on what you are looking for, you will keep going back or look for alternatives. On the positive... More

From checking in at this hotel and being recognized as a returning guest I can sum up the experience as a charming and over the top. I was escorted to my room by the front desk receptionist - a great way to greet guest and treat them special. This was a room over looking Central Park and a room with... More

We stayed here for four nights at the beginning of February 2015. Excellent hotel, fantastic staff - so helpful and friendly - nothing too much trouble. Our room was immaculate and we were very well looked after.

I stayed here as part of a group in January and it was perfection, we had our rooms upgraded to a view of Central Park, the rooms were lovely and the shower was actually powerful enough to wash my long thick hair which sometimes is an issue! All the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful and the location of... More

I was at the Taj Pierre for business a few weeks ago in context of a government delegation. While the place is well located. Some of the service experiences were dodgy. In the end we got the regular Taj experience but some of the earlier staff were unhelpful. Including mentioning this is Taj in Ny please do not expect service... More

My boyfriend and I stayed at The Pierre at the beginning of February 2015 and it made our holiday. Firstly, the hotel is beautiful, immaculately maintained with well appointed, light, clean and luxurious rooms. I'm very fussy when it comes to pillows and mattresses but the sleep I got at The Pierre was some of the best. We had a... More

This hotel is simply magnificent, with excellent service from start to finish; the incredible location helps too, just opposite Central Park and a Duane Reade about two blocks away for pure convenience. What really impressed me where the staff, I unfortunately booked my flight wrong and had to stay an extra couple of nights, they very generously upgraded my room... More

We came hoping for a unique time and found something outstanding. We have stayed in many fine hotels and for us the key has always been if the staff really seemed to care and made you feel at home. This was a special occasion for us,our Golden Anniversary, and we chose the Pierre because its name always seemed to stand... More

The Pierre is sure to accommodate each guest, completely. The location made Central Park, the Empire State Building, the Met, Time Square, and of course plenty of food and wonderful shopping, an easy walk. The rooms were luxurious, not huge, but lovely and elegant. The service was always beyond helpful and the personalization of the stay made my NY visit... More

We stayed in a large suite on the fifth floor. Not much of a view. But the room was exquisite! Bathroom was larger than rooms in precious stays. Thrilled that it had a tub. Impeccable housekeeping as always. Really just a lovely hotel with a fantastic location!

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
