This hotel had many advantages. The room was specious and really good (only drawback was not enough room to put your things in bathroom near the sink although the bathroom us large). The service is mostly good (concierge was very good and then not that good so depends on who you get). Location is great if you want midtown. But... More

At one of the best possible locations in town, Upper East on 5th Avenue with Central park across the street, The Pierre is an icon of luxury of another age. Friendly staff, comfortable beds, quiet and spacious rooms. This 5 star hotel offers a 5 star experience. You don't need a lift boy or girl in every elevator, but this... More

I used to be client at the Pierre before the change of ownership to TAJ. I can't say i was pleased of my stay... i really felt the change. Although the reception staff tried to be accommodating, i couldn't help but feel condescended the majority of the time. the rooms were quite small, but very well cleaned. The only true... More

I was lucky enough to be in NY on a visit for St. Patrick's Day, I was also lucky enough to have a very good NY friend who booked afternoon tea in the Pierre that afternoon. As there was three of us, we had plenty to eat. I opted for the Lapsang Souchong tea which arrived with beautifully made sandwiches,... More

I have stayed at the Pierre quite a few times over the last twenty years. At times it has been a bit tired and the service has faltered. But my impression this time is that the hotel is now better than ever. Our renovated room was extremely comfortable (amazing new bed) and I really like the attractive and subtle interior... More

Well, I have to say I'm torn about this review. The hotel was nice, the location was great, the staff impeccable. So why not 5 stars? I can't say. The hotel could've been ANY hotel, in any city. Yes, it was luxurious, yes, there were some outstanding features (the rotunda), and perhaps it is going for the understated elegance and... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
