My room smelled of mildew. Other than that it was fine, if shabby. The elevator wait was excessive, and the tiny "lobby" could not handle the number of people that needed to flow through it. I adore Westin hotels; they are my first choice anywhere and everywhere. This just did not feel like a Westin. Next time I want to... More

Simply put this is a practical location but its a bit away from the heart of Times Square and I find that if you are in NYC that's the place to be for action all day and night, having said that, it is a clean and comfortable hotel but nothing to write home about. In the end I would definitely... More

The Westin Grand Central is a great New York Hotel. It´s close to the Grand Central Terminal which gives perfect access to publik transportation. The rooms of the Hotel are comfortable, with a nice bathroom. The bed is typical american style (big and one sleeps well in it). There is now wireless internet access available in the rooms. For an... More

We travel very frequently are Starwood Preferred guests and decided to try this Starwood property again after 5 years since our last visit. We have been staying at the Ritz Carlton Central Park on most visits into the city and choose this over the Ritz Battery Park for this visit due to location. The hotel was originally one of the... While the room size was bigger than a typical NYC hotel room, we were overall disappointed. Our first room had gross stains all over the bed spread and we had to wait longer than I would have liked to get a new room (this was after waiting an hour and 30 minutes in the lobby with my infant). The restaurant... More

Loved this hotel. Away from the hustle and bustle of Times Square, but still a vibrant, central part of the city. I chose this location for the proximity to Grand Central Station and was happy to explore a new corner of Manhattan. A short walk to the UN complex and the East River. I loved the view of the Empire... More

Stayed 5 nights in a corner room on the 11th floor. Have been an SPG Gold member for last 5 years or so. In short, below are my comments: PROS: Very positive check in experience with friendly woman. Was able to check in early walk-in shower was pleasant (I think only available in corner rooms) CONS: Biggest irritation for me... More

We are happy to hear we were able to provide you the service Starwood and the Westin brand is known for. We are delighted to see through the details of your stay and ensure each stay is memorable! I've stayed at this hotel 2 times now and I've been impressed each time. The rooms are definitely larger than the average NYC hotel and the staff is some of the nicest I've come across. Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
