Good quality cotton sheets that stayed tucked-in versus waking up with a wad of sheet under you and your cheek against a hotel mattress. Even in 100 deg F heat it was a perfect walking location for Madison Ave shopping, Rockefeller Center, MOMA, Central Park, Broadway. Great coffee for continental breakfast. Although their scones & croissants were good, variety would... More

My husband planned a surprise trip to New York to celebrate my birthday and to help mark something off my Bucket List. The first part of the trip, we stayed at the Michelangelo for its convenience to the Gershwin Theater. The location is excellent. Our room was beautiful and SPACIOUS!!!! The towels were soooo soft and the bedding luxurious. I... More

The location of the Michelangelo Hotel is fabulous. From the hotel, it is an easy walk to the theater district, Lincoln Center, Rockefeller Center and Central Park. Crosstown buses and the subway are a short block away. A series of covered arcades begins across the street and leads directly to Central Park about five short blocks away. Rooms are large,... More

My toddler and I travel with my husband for work to nyc often. We've stayed in some good rooms and some not so great rooms at the Michelangelo. If you go be sure to ask for a renovated room. Rooms offer good space for NYC. Food is average and prices are acceptable but definately not cheap. Service is dependent on... More

We stayed here in May 2010. The hotel is very central - west 51st and 7th avenue, and Times Square is about two blocks away. Our room was on the 4th floor, and hence there was lots of street noise (which is understandable). The room was well furnished. Lovely soft beds. The bathroom had some odd switches and a heat... I travel over 170,000 miles a year for work and have stayed at the Michelangelo hotel many times before. Recently took my daughter for weekend of Broadway plays and restaurants. This hotel is quite frankly the best in NYC for service, rooms with a sense of belonging and comfort, and location. James, the concierge can steer one to the best... More

For a long time I longed to stay at this hotel but always found it to be out of our budget, This trip I decided we'd stay here and we even got a good rate for a rather spacious room ( no view, but who cares!) I am so glad we stayed, everything ( with the exception of free wifi)... More

We loved this hotel. It was small but very nice. The rooms were big, esp by NYC standards.

Our room was very plush, roomy and comfortable. We were upgraded upon checkin to a room with 2 king beds for a reasonable extra fee (2 more family members joined us at the last minute so our reserved 1 king bed would have been a tight fit). The location was right around the corner from Times Square but walking into... More

We have stayed at the Michelangelo many times before. It is always our first choice. Everyone is friendly and prompt. The rooms have always been meticulous. Morning continental breakfasts are available to all those who wish to partake. The atmosphere is consistantly pleasant both in the Lobby and the rooms. This is a special place.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
