We spent 6 nights in the Michelangelo and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were given a large, quiet room on the 6th floor. The housekeeping was excellent and the general peace and quiet inside the hotel was a delight after walking around New York all day especially as it was so hot. The staff were always pleasant and helpful and... More

Michelangelo Hotel is a wonderful place to stay in Manhattan. Room was spacious--yes, spacious--clean, quiet and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful. Central location convenient to Broadway, midtown, subway. Would definitely stay here again.

nice hotel with a great location at center of things, most of staff was always nice and helpful, rooms are large in NY "size", breakfast pastries were good, will stay again...only draw backs....very old hallways with some old dirty carpets, AC unit in our room was old and noise......beds were great though..

Mayhem is right around the corner in Times Square but you have this oasis waiting for you at anytime. Recommended by friends as a quiet hotel I was amazed at how quiet this hotel was and on a 4th floor room no less. Technical difficulties on the wifi in the bedroom lead to a swift action by management to rectify... More

We were fortunate to get a good rate at this hotel on Bookit.com for Memorial Day weekend. I had done lots of research on hotels in Manhattan and wasn't finding anything that I liked. Took a chance on this place and was not disappointed! It is lovely! I've traveled a lot and this is the only hotel that I have... More

The location is wonderful & the hotel was very clean. Two very important things. Scott the concierge was very helpful. The doormen were lackluster at best. More interested in talking to themselves than to the arriving guests. No one offered to get me a cab in the three days I was there. No said hello to me as I was... More

The Michelangelo was a great hotel. Clean with large rooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The Concierge was spot on with all his suggestions. The hotel is also located close to all the shows and Times Square.

Walking into the Michelangelo from the crowded mid-town streets is like a breath of fresh air! A travel agent told us about this hotel many years ago. We do try other hotels every now and then -- to save money or to put us in a different location. But we find ourselves drawn back to the Michelangelo (especially if we... More

The hotel is in a great location to see most of the tourist attractions. However, some of the rooms are not in good shape. Furniture is worn out, major stains on carpet and upholstery, and some things in the room do not work well. Other rooms fair better. So it is luck of the draw what you get. Some staff... More

The Michelangelo is an unassuming, quiet property in a prime location. The public spaces are tasteful and lovely, the rooms spacious and beautifully decorated. Its greatest advantage is that it is less expensive than other Manhattan hotels of like quality. Give it a try!

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
