I went down to NYC to see friends, plays, and museums. I wanted a comfortable room that I would enjoy going back to and a convenient location. The Michelangelo was perfect for my needs. Its location, at 51st and 7th, let me walk to three Broadway plays and take a quick subway ride to Lincoln Center for the fourth. It's... More

Everything about this trip was perfect. We arrived early and the gentleman at the front desk helped us pre-register and stored our bags for us. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Our room was comfortable, clean and huge! It was also the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in!

Arriving at the Michelangelo always starts our annual trip to New York City on a positive note. June welcomes us back at the front desk and makes sure we have a spacious room. If Henry is at the front door, we get big smiles and a hug. (Even when Henry is off shift, we get welcoming smiles). Like coming home... More

My stay was fantastic. I was met by an extremely pleasant front desk associate named June who made me feel welcome from the start. The support staff all around were warm and helpful all around and my room was serviced immaculately by Frema from housekeeping. Rooms are large and well appointed. The location cannot be beat with easy subway access... More

What a great find for our Easter weekend. Centrally located, safe and an European air. The rooms are spacious and did I mention the great mid-Manhatten location. The breakfast room is stark but the coffee and croissants make up for it..You will not be disappointed

Stayed 3 nights in a larger room, which is worth paying extra for as the bathroom was spacious and well fitted. Service of all the hotel staff could not be faulted, we did not take advantage of the free coffee etc in the mornings as there are plenty of cafes nearby for breakfast. Nearly all hotels midtown are old and... More

Stayed at this hotel from the 24-30th May this year. The rooms are really large for New York but they need more suitcase racks. The room cleanliness was good and the rooms serviced very well the staff were always attentive and friendly. The location is excellent and handy to everything you need to do in NYC, shows, restaurants, attractions and... More

This hotel reflects the charm of of an Italien hotel with many architechural touches in all areas. The staff was wonderful, helpful from the check in to the door man and the service staff. Everything is well care for in this hotel. A simple morning brakfast is provide or a complete breakfast can be purchased in the lobby area. Rooms... More

My family and I stayed at The Michelangelo for 10 nights this month; this was our third time there. We travel to NYC often and have stayed at several high end hotels in Midtown. There is NO BETTER than the Michelangelo. The location is perfect. It is walking distance from just about everything but isolated from the Times Square and... More

As it was my first visit to New York City, I used tripadvisor reviews to choose a comfortable mid-priced hotel. When I entered the lobby, I felt relief that I had made the right choice. Quiet elegance. The staff provided friendly and immediate help for anything we needed. Our room was spacious and comfortable. We will return to the Michelangelo,... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
