This hotel is great for those looking for value. Yes, the room is very very small but it worked for us since we were not looking to make the most of the room or hotel facility. The bed was not the most comfortable but it did the job. The only two windows in the room looked onto brick walls. The... More

Above average experience at this hotel. Location is perfect for Times Square, Broadway, Rockefeller Center and midtown in general. Stayed in a penthouse on 12th floor. Bed was very comfortable and clean. Wooden floor, excellent bathroom. Rooms are small but this is fairly normal for many older buildings. Dark decor which is fine with me - reminds me of a... More

We booked via Priceline and were assigned room 212. It was like being dropped into the bottom of a well. There were 2 windows, one in the bathroom and one in the bedroom. I'm not exaggerating when I say there was absolutely NO natural light coming into either window. You'd think the hotel would put extra lighting in these rooms,... More

Just returned from a fabulous weekend in NYC. Loved everything about it, Great service, helpful staff. Amazing Library, with many comfortable chairs to lounge in, fireplace and a very good "free" coffee machine. This hotel has an old time charm to it. Reminded us of some hotels we stayed at in Paris. Special shout out to Robert the concierge. Very... More

I stayed at The Mansfield for two nights on business. The location was great close to the theatre and Bryant park. The hotel is small, but it had a Great Gatsby feel. The bar and lounge were cozy. It was clean and the staff was friendly. They valet parked my car. If you are looking for a big hotel with... More

I think the title resume everything. Don't expect to go there as a 4stars hotel. The services is very the minimum you can expect. The room is very small and the A/C wasn't working so the room was like a spa. I needed to sleep with open windows. Could be a great 2-3stars hotel but definitely not a 4stars.

So it's a boutique hotel in NYC. Good location close to 5th ave, and walking distance to all that midtown has to offer. The lobby and library room are quaint and homey. However, that is where it ends for the good news. Things that are not up to par for a "4*" hotel.... 1) Parking - - valet is rarely... More

Yes, it's old, but very quaint. This was our second visit from many years ago and it is still a great place. We were able to check in early. We got a junior suite as promised, booked on kayak.com. Very comfortable. They were even able to store our bags after check out so we could see last minute sights in... More

Upon arrival at the hotel we were confused to see no one to great us at the door and take our car. i double parked and and ran inside to the very small lobby that seemed more like a coat check than a lobby of a 4 star hotel. I was told they did not have valet today and was... More

This is the letter I wrote to the hotel when I left: When your hotel first opened, I was a frequent guest. I loved the atmosphere, the charm, the staff - it was a very pleasant home away from home. When I came to New York this week on business, it was the Mansfield where I chose to stay -... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
