Got here from the UK and was told the room I had pre-booked was no longer available. They sent me to another hotel, 12 blocks north and gave me $7 for a cab fare which cost me $9. Not impressed at all.

I've been staying at the Mansfield about 3 times now, and the greatest thing is the neighborhood, full of restaurants, shops, basically everything I need. Rooms are not really big but I honestly do not spend much time there. Comfy bed, overall clean. Most rooms are a bit aged, and not always very quiet. Personnel all very kind. Bkfst used... More

Enjoyed a 7 night break at this hotel with my daughter. Excellent location between 5th and 6th Street. Round the corner from Times Square. 10 min. walk to bus station. Accommodation excellent, great buffet breakfast - more than we had expected. Complimentary bottled water, tea, coffee going all day/night. Rooms recently refurbished - clean and comfortable. Plasma TV screens, complimentary... More

My boyfriend and I stayed in room #305 at the Mansfield hotel. The room was the smallest and most poorly laid out I have ever experienced. It felt like a utility closet. The bed faced directly into the bathroom and since the door didn't close properly, the person on the bed could watch the person on the toilet and vice... More

The Mansfield is one of those typical New York hotels with rooms so small you have to step into the hallway to change your mind. However, it's also rather charming. The decor is a bit trendy, with a Jayne Manfield theme (no surprise given the name). The bar is nice, though a bit pricey (even for NYC), but the in-lobby... More

The Mansfield is a sweet, compact boutique hotel. The lobby is simple, yet elegant and its clear measures were taken to maintain the Mansfield’s historic charm while modernizing its facilities. The library, in the front of the lobby, was a warm and cozy place to relax while enjoying the complimentary coffee and cappuccino, provided 24 hours a day. The staff... More

We decided to try this hotel after getting a great rate through Travelzoo. It's in a great location and we liked it a lot.Our room was newly refurbished (some are still in the process), and had a comfy bed and bedding, plasma TV,nice bathroom and shower, complimentary bottled water and free wireless internet. There was an included breakfast from 7-10, as... More

We spent one night here with friends from Boston after taking the train in from CT. The location worked out well for us as it is such a short walk from Grand Central terminal. The location was central to Times Square, good dining selections and the subway. While small, the rooms are more than adequate, especially for short stays. There... More

This little hotel is in a fantastic location, just 2 blocks away from the heart of Times Square. We went to New York to catch a bunch of Broadway shows and all but one of them were a 10-minute walk from our room. Location-wise, it's across the street from the Iriquois and just a few hundred yards from the Sofitel,... More

No air conditioning in room. Not too bad since it was a bit chilly out, but being on the second floor, it was a constant choice between street noise and smell of Indian place across the street or stuffy room with maids/guests banging doors. Service was nice but not very professional. The library is very small and filled the entire... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
