4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Just stayed 3 nights here with no problems. Our room (PHII on the top floor) whilst being quite 'compact' was all we needed, a little dark in decor maybe but with a nicely refurbished bathroom, comfy bed and everything worked as it should. The hotel is nicely situated being near both Times Square and Grand Central Station. There is free... More

On entering our room your could hardly move the room was so small. You could touch the bed from the door, We had 4 coat hangers and not drawers to store our clothes. Only one bedside cabinet! The room was like an oven but the A/C unit was directly level with the bed so you either got blast of cold... More

Atmosphere was spectacular, hotel was beyond charming, and staff was very hospitable. Only negative was that we left a cheep street painting and were not able to recover despite several attempts/phone calls.

Convenient to theater, Times Square, Bryant Park and subway stops. Lovely old world charm and ambiance; a reminder of days gone by. Clean, comfortable, very accommodating staff. We loved The Mansfield!

I had a perfectly adequate stay at the Mansfield while in NYC on business. As previous reviewers have noted, it does have an outstanding location- easy to access if you're coming in from Penn or Grand Central and easy walking distance to most of the city's top tourist attractions. The M bar is also a great spot for an evening... More

I have stayed here on two occasions for one week and a fortnight respectively. This is not a modern sterile hotel, but instead a lovely historic building which feels very homely yet is quite cool as well. The rooms are fairly small (although the suites are fine), but you are unlikely to spend much time there anyway! The design is... More

Where to start ? The Hotwire booking stated this was a 4 star hotel - hardly. Bait & Switch on the part of Hotwire- will deal with that separately. The room was a shoebox with cheap furniture ( inadequate closet and no bureau/ drawer space) and the galley bath with no real door was worse. Upon a 1:30 arrival we... More

This hotel is in an a perfect location close to the majority of tourist attractions. The staff were all very friendly and helpful - we had issues with our air con unit on the first night and they moved us straight away! The rooms are pretty small but you are in New York - we were hardly in it!

Stayed at the Mansfield for three nights- it is an old historic building in a good location. The lobby is nice enough, but the rooms are dark and tiny. We saw a huge dead cockroach in the stairwell which makes you wonder about if there are more. Tiny room and bathroom with small windows that looked out into darkness (maybe... More

I stayed in this delightful retro-chic hotel just off of Times Sq on E 44th Street. Lovely rooms in a great location, very reasonably priced and with staff keen to help. Nice atmosphere in the evening bar, and a good breakfast in the morning.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
