I stayed at The Mansfield in May (booked through a third party website) and had the worst experience. The room I got was super super tiny, gloomy and had the nastiest smell. I asked to be moved to a different room. The second room was maybe a touch bigger and the nasty smell was still there but not as bad.... More

Lovely little place to stay with large rooms in the heart of the city! Walk to everything, and enjoy the unique bar! We would certainly stay there again! We visited over the holidays and everything was decorated beautifully. The only drawback was the building was undergoing renovations, so you could not see the front of the building which proved to... We stayed at The Mansfield June 26-29th. I had never stayed at the hotel before and booked on a 3rd party travel site. When my confirmation arrived it said a room would be assigned at check in, so I called the hotel to request a room with two beds. I mentioned I was coming to the city for my birthday,... More

I love this little boutique hotel. It is in a VERY convenient location for Time Square and Rockefeller Center. The precious bar has excellent food and great specialty drinks. When I am booking a Manhattan Hotel, this is my first choice.

Found through Hotels.com when looking for a hotel close to Times Square. I have been to New York City more then a dozen times and always stayed in different hotels. The Mansfield was very well priced for the quality of the hotel and my wife and I loved the old school vintage feel of the hotel! Clean rooms that are... More

Dark dingy room with a view of a brick wall. Noisy from other air conditioning vents but ironically air conditioning in my room didn't work - they had to send for an engineer. Patchy wifi. Expensive for what it was and much nicer hotels for the money. Not suitable if you are staying here on business.

We came here for a 2 night stay during a friend's wedding and we we had a wonderful time. We had a junior suite that came with a separate living area and bedroom. I adored the historic architectural detail that were preserved in the room. It really gave the hotel character. We had a beautiful set of French doors separating... More

We stayed for 8 nights in mid June. Excellent location in Midtown Manhattan, just a few minutes walk from Grand Central, Bryant Park and Times Square. Our room was on the 9th floor, and very quiet - didn't notice the parade staging outside on Sunday morning until we got to the lobby! Our bathroom was very small, and we couldn't... More

As they say, "location, location"! Staying at the Mansfield was a great price for being right off of 5th ave. in Manhatten. Although it was an old hotel, it was clean, the staff friendly and a quiet respit from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
