We were booked for a business trip at this lovely jewel box hotel on the upper east-side very close to where my children live. We knew based on the location, reviews and parent company we would have extraordinary New York experience. Unfortunutely I was hired to work for Holland America cruise lines and my training in Alaska would preclude our... More

This Upper East Side Manhattan hotel is not listed in some guide books because it is a small hotel with a small, unimpressive lobby. But get past that! We found our room to be well appointed, although small. The free breakfast was generous and reminded me of a European hotel. And in the evening, they serve free wine and cheese.... More

Reviewed Yelp app because we were nearby, and my son and I drove over to check out the hotel. NYC is HUGE, rooms are SMALL in hotels, so we did not expect a large upper-chain type hotel. I requested to view a room and, although, it was small, it was impeccably clean, stylishly furnished, and very comfortable. We got an... More

It's a charming hotel with a very nice staff but the devil is in the details. The window cooling unit is three decibel levels below that of a refrigeration truck. The front desk tells me every room is like that. However if I turn it off, it's likely that I will suffer heat stroke so my options are not good.... More

We stayed here for 4 nights. We booked and pre-paid for our stay via the hotel website but when we arrived late on Sunday evening the hotel told us they had no record of our reservation. After 30 minutes of waiting in the hot lobby the receptionist found us a room but it was smaller than the room we had... More

Charming small-scale hotel with elegant updates. Small petite guest room, but fully adequate for this traveler visiting solo for medical business with Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (from whom I got the referral, but their negotiated discount applies to larger rooms and long-term stays, take note). An easy subway ride down on the 6 line to get to the Outpatient Pavilion.... More

European style hotel. rooms and bathroom was very small ( we got the largest in the hotel) but were clean, comfortable and adequate for our needs. Nice people, great location. Free breakfast and wine. You have a choice, you can bake over night or you can spend the night listening to the AC to keep from baking. Either way, you are not getting any sleep. We would have loved to have gotten up early to enjoy NY. Not possible with lack of sleep.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
