Myself and partner stayed at the Carlton for 4 nights. We opted for the superior room as I had read that the standard room was quite small. Well our room was still small! but we managed. The room was always well cleaned by staff and we had nothing moved or stolen as mentioned by the previous review, but I kept... more

We stayed here for the better part of a week and left feeling really just shocked at the indifferent service. Not just indifferent. It was as if even being in the hotel was a bother for those who worked there. The doormen did not hold the door open, say hello, or offer to flag down cabs (except in one circumstance... more

The Carlton is a classic old school hotel - grand lobby, beautiful furnishing and TINY rooms. The photos posted on the web of the "standard room" which showed an armchair, bed and desk were nothing like the room we had, which had a bed, a small desk and desk chair and about 1 square foot of space. No where to... more

This hotel is nice enough, in a good location, but the service is terrible. For us, it started already at check-in, where Guadalupe gave us an attitude you would not believe. Afterwards, she continued to make our stay unpleasant. We asked for a rollaway upon arrival, which never came. When I complained the next day, all she could muster was,... more

Don't even bother unless you enjoy your personal belongings being stolen and a staff that does not accommodate you in ways such as......................calling the police because of grand larceny, not cooperating with NYPD and covering up the fact that the staff is involved!!!!!! Even spoke to some of the nice employees and they told me it happens all the time!... more

Stayed for 4 nights in superior double. Hotel is beautifully furnished, the bar is good with decent food, the room was comfortable and a decent size, although it overlooked the hotel's air vents so it was pretty noisy. Overall, quite nice. HOWEVER, despite there being plenty of staff standing about, none of them were helpful. On our arrival, the valet... more

It is hard to spend too much time in a hotel room when in NYC, so I did not pay much attention to the hotel. But the tiny room was hard to miss. It was just a bit bigger than the bed. The bathroom was also very small, but also quite elegant. Another annoying thing was that the wireless Internet... more

A really lovely New York Hotel, From experience the average NY hotel can be really small and cramped but this hotel wasnt! The room was great - a corner room with a view from the shower of the Chrysler building!! The staff were nice and inclusive breakfast (continental) decent. Great location, near time square but not too near! Near Union... more

We looked for ages for a Manhattan hotel within our budget that wasn't icky. This one came in on a good deal through Expedia, and we jumped at it. Four Star at 3 Star Prices. Lovely Hotel, nice rooms, all as described on their web site. The only reason I have marked down the Cleanliness is that the mirrors in... more

The hotel was in a good location; however, I am happy that I was traveling alone due to the rooms size. I always stay at 4 star hotels,(Morgans, Muse, Sofitel, etc), but this has been one of the smallest rooms I have ever seen. In addition, it was plain. Upon looking out the window, I was greated with a brick... more
