We stayed for five nights in an Executive Queen room. The room was a good size and everything was clean and in good condition. The breakfast buffet was good but a bit of variety would have been preferred rather than exactly the same items each day. The staff were pleasant and efficient. The location is good, a quiet street but... More

I was please to find that this hotel was more than I expected. The room was comfortable, the view was great and the staff was attentive and kind with many helpful tips for travel in NYC. The bathroom had a dual shower head, phone and hair dryer. The room was two double beds with comfortable sheets and pillows. The room... More

I stayed over the marathon weekend and opted for an executive room. For below $300 a night, the room was very spacious, with windows on two sides, overlooking a quiet street. Considering this was NYC and I was 5 minutes' walking from Times Square, I was more than pleased. The location was fantastic as it is easy to go to... More

We had an executive king room, which included free Wi-Fi, a bonus in NYC! The room, even number, had a very decent, open view, of lower city area. There was a tiny kitchen area, sink, fridge, micro, and some cupboards, kerhig coffee maker. No dishes, cutlery etc. The room had been renovated, but drapes and carpet were very tired BUT... More

W 48th...Midtown Manhattan....Time Square....Belvedere Hotel is the perfect location when visiting New York and you want to be in the theater district. Easy walking to shows, shopping, eating, and even central park! Close but not too close to get the busy street noise. The room with the kitchen area was an added plus to our stay. Clean hotel with a... More

We don't usually stay in this neighborhood, but it made sense for this particular trip's activities, and the Belvedere was a very good home base. A room was ready for us upon early check-in, and it proved comfortable and largely well-appointed. The only missing items were a wastepaper basket in the "kitchen" area (coffee-maker, fridge, sink), and an additional chair... More

This hotel is near the action of Times Square and the Theater district, but not too close to be in the center of all the crowds. The hotel was clean and the staff was very pleasant and accomodating. The room was spacious and quiet, for the most part. We were awakened on Saturday morning by the garbage trucks outside our... More

Situated just off 8th Avenue this hotel is literally five minutes from Times Square and you pass a couple of theatres to get there. Rooms are small but well appointed and come with a coffee machine, fridge (empty) and microwave. Bed was extremely comfortable. Staff were very helpful especially when we had a problem on the first night which was... More

Reception staff not friendly. Indifferent at most. Air Conditioning at room very old. Breakfast is ok, but, again, staff not friendly. I will try and find some other hotel nearby next time. One good point: location (close to but not inside the broadway fuzz)

Staying in Hell's Kitchen (Located within Midtown)

Neighborhood Profile
Hell's Kitchen
Just a few strides from the pulsing beat of Times Square, Hell’s Kitchen has a much more local pulse than its buzzing neighbor. The low-key vibe is part of the appeal, but there’s also a new energy arriving in the neighborhood in the form of modern residential buildings with new retail and food shops. Ninth Avenue is lined with restaurants of all types, from tiny Thai hangouts and Italian trattorias to French bistros and Southern cuisine. Just show up hungry and walk up and down the street, you are bound to find something that looks good. For a more classic taste of the city, grab a bite to eat along Restaurant Row (46th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues) before a Broadway show. The Hudson River provides a break from the city blocks with riverside views, piers for boat tours, and parks perfect for a stroll.
