My husband and I just spent 2 nights in this super hotel and have nothing but good things to say about it. They were accommodating with an early check in and even comped us 2 free cocktails in their famous lobby bar. The suite was spotless and very quiet. I usually have to cajole my hubby to visit NYC as... More

A lovely old hotel, brought up to date. Great common areas, small rooms. A very pleasant stay and good value.

I bought a 3 one-night packages at the Algonquin on RueLaLa, $200 per night including 2 cocktails and 2 breakfasts per night. I knew about Dorothy Parker & the Round Table, but I wasn't sure what to expect now that it was a Marriott. It couldn't have been a better experience. The rooms aren't huge (kind of typical for NYC),... More

This must be one of my best experiences with hotel staff. They were great and the hotel and room was really nice. The only thing that bring down this place is the hotel bar. Very rude bar tender. He thought that I was difficult because I could feel some fuzz in the Still Water I ordered and I complain about... More

Our first experience with The Algonquin was Father’s Day weekend 2011 when I booked a room using Marriott points. Was I surprised that all the single rooms had only one bed- a little small for me, my wife and 2 teenage daughters. When I approached the front desk, the woman (whose name I didn’t get) sensed my concern (and fear)... More

Hotel was beautiful. Just like something right out othe pages of history. The staff however, well they were lacking to say the least. When I came to check -in I was clearly bothering Ann, I think that was her name, at the front desk. She was englufed in whatever she was typing and who am I to interupt. The bellman... More

Priceline put me here twice, and despite the decent price, I now try to configure my searches to not get put up here again. If you're looking for a 3 star hotel, with a great literary history and a good location, you'll be satisfied, but there's no way this is a 4 star hotel. I travel to NYC about once... More

Stayed here in the 2nd part of trip to always fabulous NYC. This property was a priceline bid winning, and I wish I could win it again everytime I bid for NY hotels! We had already stayed at 44th st and loved the location. The hotel common areas are charming, classic, with great memorabilia from the Dorothy Parker times... and... More

My husband and I stayed here for a business/pleasure 4 day trip. It was one of the few hotels that came up in our search under $200 for a Manhattan hotel. It has kept its charm but the rooms clearly have been updated with new paint, furniture, etc. The room was on the smaller side, but it was clean, streamlined... More

If you're coming to New York City and want a taste of old world charm in the heart of the theatre district - this is the place to be. The Algonquin Hotel has wonderful history but even better a first-rate hotel staff who will make you feel comfortable, secure and welcome. It also boasts a wonderful lobby bar and cabaret... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
