The Algonquin Hotel was a great place to stay for the weekend. Rooms are small, but if you are on the go like we were, the only time we were in the room was to sleep and regroup. Only a few blocks from Times Square, 30 Rock, and many of the Broadway theaters on a very quiet and uncongested street.... More

Marriott took over this classic NYC hotel around a year ago. It is nice, but since it was built in 1902 it suffers from the same problem virtually all hotels from that period suffers from - small rooms! The location is terrific if you're in town for the theater. Fabulous BBQ restaurant across the street towards 6th Ave. The but... More

The Algonquin is small and the rooms tiny but my husband and I adore this small jewel. I've never liked big hotels no matter how luxurious. We feel at home here, spending a fall afternoon in the lobby, snuggled into a soft chair or sofa behind a palm with a newspaper, having something to munch on and tea or a... More

Recently stayed at the Algonquin Hotel in New York. It's an old place that oozes character and history. The location is great, right in the middle of everything. I found the staff to be super friendly and helpful. And the rooms are clean and well furnished (all I'm looking for on a short trip) It's just average however in terms... More

The Algonquin is a true throwback to the age of the Broadway boutique hotel. You can see and taste the history everywhere you look. The 44th Street location is perfectly situated near all things Broadway. My room was tiny, but adequate for my needs. The one gripe I have is consistent with what I have read from many other reviewers...the... More

Too small terrible service. Penny at front desk is rude and disrespectful to guests.

The hotel is a beautiful bijou spot of old world charm in modern decor. It has loads of personality. The room was smaller than I had hoped but that may have been me having huge expectations of the hotel. Staff were wonderful, rooms were comfortable and overall the place was a little different.

Look, you go to all this trouble to find the best deal, the best location a great hotel and good reviews and then you arrive. Well I have to be honest i genuinely thought the hotel being in New york would be way bigger than it was... but having said that you doorman greets you and you walk right in... More

I was going into NYC for a quick trip to visit a friend from England. The city was very crowded and most of my usual "quick overnight" spots were booked. Everything was terribly expensive. I kept looking and finally found an inexpensive corporate rate under the auspices of my company at the Algonquin. I was quite excited since I had... More

This is coming alittle late but I had not realized I had not written a review on it sooner.......We went as a family in June and booked through priceline.com and got a great deal on this hotel!!! But when booking through priceline I seem to think they do not offer all the extras that you get when booking through themselves.....no... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
