Although our rooms were small and a bit shabby (I think we booked the cheapest as it was New Years Eve) the hotel was ideally situated for New Years Eve celebrations, old world charm abounded and it was pretty good value. Bar was great and we got a good nights sleep

Myself & my wife stayed at the Algonquin Hotel for 5 nights in March 2010. From the moment I booked this hotel I knew I would be pleased with the level of service I received by email. My wife does not do elevators and I had a bad experiance with another hotel on my first trip to NYC when they... More

My wife and I stayed at the Algonquin Hotel for four days during the Christmas Holidays. Staying at the Algonquin was like staying at a quaint inn. Since we had tickets to two plays, the location was perfect. The staff was extremely friendly. Our room was small, but the cozy atmosphere of the hotel made up for it. The hotel... More

I stayed for 6 nights at The Algonquin in December and had a suite. So this review might not be applicable for travellers booking standard rooms. Also, I am fully aware that the Algonquin is a very old hotel, so this is also considered in the overall rating. Room: The suite we had was really nice. Small bedroom whith walk-in... More

If I had paid attention to the silly negative reviews, we would have missed out on one of the truly wonderful hotel experiences of my long life. While not massive in ANY way, we loved this delightful historic hotel, perfectly located right in the heart of the midtown area, a short walk, even with roller bags, from Grand Central. The... More

A very charming hotel at 44th street between 5th and 6th Avenue. With its 12 floors its one of the smaller ones at this place. A great difference to all the large international hotel chains in Manhattan. You will find a family atmosphere and a famous restaurant with superb quality of service and food. According to the age of the... More

From the time my sister and I arrived (12/20/10), we we're greeted immediately, welcomed, and made to feel like we were at home. We arrived an hour early from the train, so our room was not ready. We enjoyed our wait in the lobby and the martini's were fabulous. Because of our wait, our martini's were on the house which... More

We had a lovely night here. While the room and bathroom was small, everything was immaculate and nicely furnished. Staff was friendly and helpful. We had a late night snack in the lobby bar with good food and nice service. The hotel is now part of the Autograph Collection and associated with Marriott.

We did not have high expectations about this hotel but were pleasantly surprised. The room was small but quite comfortable and functional. It looks like the hotel was renovated a year or two ago and the rooms are in very good condition. We did not dine at the hotel restaurant. Wanted to get room service but they have last call... More

I stayed here with friends for a girls weekend. Hotel was clean and updated somewhat recently. Great location within walking distance to Times Square, subway, restaurants etc. Friendly helpful staff and priceline offered a great deal. Highly reccomend if you want to be in Times Square but stay in a nice hotel.
