If you are going to flip out because your television and internet don't work fast enough, then don't even think about it. If little quirks and well-worn furnishings repel you, look elsewhere. If you don't get a decent deal, say, under $325, you might want to think twice. But I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Algonquin. I loved sitting... More

I have no complaints about my stay here. I expected a smaller room, as is the norm in NYC. Some historic hotels are in awful shape and quite dirty, the Algonquin was not in this category -- it was in excellent condition and I found it to be very charming and a delight. In fact, its decades-old bathroom was in... More

Stayed here while in NYC for 2 days. Loved the atmosphere with its historic Oak Room. We definitely felt the history as we were greeted at the doorway by the bellman and entered a lovely hotel lobby with wood-paneling and cozy tables for socializing. Make sure to visit the Blue Room and cabaret room as well. Room was just right... More

My husband and I stayed at the Algonquin for 4 nights during the first of April. The place was lovely. The lobby is particularly lovely with an old fashioned ambience to it. The bar is classic looking and the people were all very friendly and helpful. The location is ideal for walking to nearby Broadway and Times Square. Our room... More

No better service have I receieved in such of a fine Hotel. Arrived in blue jeans and was treated 1st class. No snobby stuff . Partner had a broken ankle and the staff went all out too accommodate us. One of New York's finest.

First trip to New York and couldn't have chosen a better location. It was really central , just a stone's throw from Times Square. We didn't spend too much time in the hotel as New York had so much to offer but enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere there in the evenings ,after a hectic day.Yes the room was tiny, the hotel is... We are just back from a 5 night stay in the Algonquin hotel in New York. Firstly the bedrooms ARE small, but dont let that put you off. We had a walk in closet, a reasonably sized bathroom ( could have done with better quality towels) with ample space to put our stuff. The bed was immensely comfortable and the... More

choose this hotel as it was a landmark of nyc and had read a lot about it. my reservation was made 3 months in advance and paid about 350 usdollars per night, based on the condition that my room would not be in the back side, where according to internet work in a close building did not allow you to... Stayed here because we managed to score a really great rate for the room. The price and the hotel's central location was the best part of my stay. Hotel and the rooms were clean and comfortable, decorated in a somewhat stuffy manner that I don't particularly care for but has nothing really wrong with it. Feng Shui is not for... More

The algonquin hotel is a historic hotel just blocks from times square. My room was very small (a queen bed, with little space around it), but I was traveling alone so it was enough room for me. The view was dissapointing considering I was facing an alley way, but besides that I had a great experience at this hotel. The... More
