Large rooms, clean, friendly and helpful staff. Located in Korea town, just a block away from Empire state building. However the breakfast were way below average. It states continental breakfast, but it was 3 different kind of bagels with Philadelphia cheese and butter. Stayed for 8 nights, had breakfast first 2 only, then had to get breakfast else where due... More

I am not given to writing reviews, but felt compelled to write this one. We recently stayed at this hotel for a week, but our experience was very disappointing! Our first impression was that the hotel was very shabby, tired & run down. We had paid for a 'standard double' room, but on allocation, it was really a small, shabby... More

Just spent 4 nights at the Stanford and we enjoyed our stay. The hotel is within easy walking distance of Penn Station, making it convenient for train travelers. It is very centrally located in mid-town Manhattan (in Koreatown, with lots of Korean restaurants nearby). The Empire State building is right around the corner. Our room was very quiet (8th floor),... More

This is a tired hotel, we stayed twice in different rooms, some are better than others, however all are clean and adequate but in need of updating. The staff were attentive and very helpful. The breakfast was very limited food often having to wait for a table. The situation close to subway, Penn Station, Empire State, and Time Square is ideal... More

The Stanford is ideally located for us, in Koreatown roughly halfway between the Flatiron District and Times Square (10 minute walk either direction). There's a subway entrance right on the same block to the 34th St station. Penn Station, Madison Square Garden, Macy's and the Empire State Building are all within 2 blocks. The rooms are quite large by NY... More

We spent two nights at the Hotel Stanford. The rooms are clean, spacious (we stayed in a Jr. Suite) and the pillows are comfy! The staff are pleasant and accommodating. The Hotel is located within walking distance of restaurants, shopping and many attractions.

Good hotel right in the middle of everything near the Empire State building and all shops and cafes etc. Had some noise outside the room but the staff moved us and also on the last day let us have the room for longer as I wasn't very well.

This hotel is by far one of the best I have stayed in. It is in a central location for seeing the sights of New York. If you arrive by train it is a five minute walk from Penn Station. The room was lovely, with air conditioning ,spacious , and also had a fridge. Toiletries supplied and stocked daily. The... More

I found this hotel to have pleasant staff and clean rooms. The double/double bed room we had had a lovely bathroom much updated from the bedroom itself. I only had the hot tea at the breakfast buffet, everything else was just breads and mini muffins. If the price is right stay. Its in the vicinity of Penn Station, Madison Square... More

This little gem is in the heart of little Korea, Manhattan NY. It is an older hotel at Herald Square, w34th and 6th ave. Lots around to see and eat. Subway right on the corner. It is situated by The Empire state building, and close to Macy's. We stayed 3 nights and never had any problems. Wifi free, good connection, continental... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
