The location of the Stanford is a huge plus point. Just two minutes walk from Macy's, 5 from Empire State, Flatiron & Penn Station. A 15 minute walk will get you into Times Square. A 10 minute subway ride either north or south will get you to Central Park or Battery Park. Rooms are small - but then again most... More

On arrival at the hotel the door was opened by the porter who took our bags at once and without any fuss...the reception was quiet but there was a slight problem when we were asked for a credit card to secure against our room, we all had Post Office Travel cards but it was only by luck my friend had... Good location for all attractions and just a block along from Empire State Building and 5 min walk to times sq Clean, spacious comfy room and on spacious side for New York, but a brick wall for a view, however this doesn't really matter as only sleep there Also unusual for NYC is free breakfast however it's not great and no matter what... We stayed here for a long weekend sightseeing and shopping in New York. This is a pleasant mid range hotel on the next street to the Empire State Building, by 34th Street subway and just around the corner from Macy's. It was only a five minute walk from Penn Station, the perfect location. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable... More

This hotel is reasonably basic, as in you get exactly what you pay for. It has lovely clean and comfy rooms, a modern and clean bathroom with free toiletries. It is safe and clean with very comfortable beds. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was mainly bagels but it fills you up for the day and is... More

First visit to NYC. This hotel is in a fantastic location and is clean and tidy. Staff are outstanding and couldn't do enough to help. Would totally recommend as a base for exploring NYC. If I was to write anything negative it would be that our bedroom windows faced a wall, but we were out from dawn until dusk so... More

We had a 3 night stay at the Stanford with friends and would thoroughly recommend this hotel for its cleanliness and friendliness. The bed was extremely comfortable and as we had a corner room, it was very quiet. We had 3 superb nights sleep and no traffic noise. The upstairs bar had a buy one get one free offer for... More

This was the second time we have stayed at the Stanford, last time we enjoyed our stay as a family but this time it was as a couple. The location is great with the Empire State Building a short walk away. Macy's is just around the corner as is Times Square. We landed at Newark airport and took the AirTrain... More

Location brillant, staff very friendly and the room was very clean, breakfast was great as it saved going out for coffee every morning, also free tea coffee and juice durning the day, Also the taxi they ordered to bring us to jfk was pure luxury and good value, the driver was a gentlemen. Worked out cheaper than the yellow cabs.

Very central only 15 minutes walk from Time Square and Penn Street and 5 from Maceys. Getting breakfast in the morning is good and you can get free tea and coffee and juice in the hotel bar during the day. The bar at night has a great atmosphere and serves food - the drinks are reasonably priced. The staff were... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
