A well located hotel with friendly staff and nice big rooms. Mia was super friendly and always helpful. Don't stay anywhere else in Manhattan, particularly if you need to be close to Madison Square Garden!

The Affinia Hotel - great place to stay. We had tickets to see Billy Joel at Madison Square Garden and searched for a place nearby. Chose this hotel and we are so glad. No waiting for check in, valet took our car at the front entrance, luggage brought in, Room was ready for early check in as requested. Everyone working... More

After debating which hotel to choose I finally chose the Manhattan Affinia and I am glad I did. I came in from Newark Intl Airport and after arriving at the New York Penn Station I only had to go across the street and there was already the hotel. The hotel itself is neat, nice lobby with lots of seating space... More

I've only stayed there this once for two nights, was a good experience overall. Most hotels in this range in NYC are a bit noisy and this one is no exception. But service level for check-in, concierge and housekeeping was all good. And the location by Penn Station makes it great for in-bound travelers, something to consider especially for those... More

Stayed one night to catch a hockey game. Reception area was great... Room not so. Tiny window, old air conditioner, beaten up desk, paint scratches all over walls , chipped ceiling paint in bathroom and terrible lighting. Beds were ok and bathroom was well appointed. Used all of renovation money on reception area. Great location but..,

The hotel is situated central to Manhattan almost opposite Madison Square Gardens. It's a 10 minute walk to the Empire State building and only around 15 minutes to Times Square. %th Avenue and Broadway are a matter of minutes away. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was smaller than i was expecting but it was cleaned... More

I have yet to hear back from the hotel yet - but I have traveled quite a bit - including staying in hostels - and never have I come home with a neck full of rashes and my body. Good news - many were scared it might be bed bugs - but my rashes were definitely stemmed from something on... More

Dear Sunjoyjoy, Thank you for the feedback, we truly appreciate it. It sounds like you enjoyed our hotel's prime location, and after moving to the larger guestroom, enjoyed your accommodations. However, I am disturbed to hear your accusations towards the cleanliness of the room, which we take very seriously. We did have this room looked at and was negative for... More

Having stayed at the Affinia Shelbourne and been for a drink in the bar here previously, I can only say that the rooms do not match up to either. I asked for a quiet room and have been placed in one overlooking 7th avenue. There are side street rooms and despite querying it, I was offered one still overlooking 7th.... More

Dear sueholidaylondon, Thank you for the review and noting we are very close to it all a true benefit although, from time to time the noise can pose a challenge for some guests. We recognize this and do our best to accommodate and provide earplugs to “put NYC in mute”. I am very sorry we were not able to provide... More

I have never stayed in an Affinia hotel before, I thought i would try one as the website suggests nice design and pretty rooms I will avoid this chain in future The lobby is bright but the rooms are grim I stayed in a studio suite. The room was good sized but it had a tiny tiny window in one... More

Dear fogsmom, Thank you for your review and feedback. Our location, opposite Madison Square Garden and Penn Station just a few steps away from Herald Square, is in the heart of New York City. Neighborhood Profile
Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighborhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighborhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighborhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.
