Room was very clean but small, bathroom tiny. Very noisy which can be expected in the centre of a city, but right next to the fire station. Short walk to all the attraction's including, Times Square, Macys, Empire State Building, Broadway, etc.

We were here during "snowmageddon". Had called ahead as our flight had gone tech and been cancelled and we now be arriving a day later. No problem for Affinia, checked us in to keep our room. Like other reviews, the room is smaller but prob size of a Premier Inn in UK, has everything you need - after all a... More

I'd like to give a better score as its a nice hotel but when we arrived they said we were not booked with them and they wanted us to leave, but we had our paperwork and proved we were booked with a large Uk company . They eventually found us. We went to our room only 2beds we needed 3... More

The hotel is in a great location, right opposite Penn station / Madison Square Garden within walking distance of most mid town attractions. Staff were pleasant and efficient. Room was small but well laid out.

Not my first visit to NYC but my first to this hotel. Great is just one word that sums it up. Friendly staff, nice rooms, great location and a good restaurant as well. Rooms are of normal NYC size so dont expect large Vegas style rooms but in saying that they are a good size and offer a nice room.... More

I made a reservation here for 1 night because it was so close to Penn Station and because of the good reviews on tripadvisor. It is a nice hotel, a little older and could use some updates. The room and bathroom were both clean. The room was very spare. No pictures on the walls - basically a bed, two nightstands,... More

We stayed here for five nights on our honeymoon. Very impressed. The rooms themselves are fairly small (I get the impression this is typical for NYC hotels), but very clean and nicely decorated. The best bit about the hotel though is the staff. Everyone there was really really helpful, especially a women called Maven who helped us enormously. The atrium... More

This is a great little hotel to stay in. It looks very NYC from the outside and the lobby is a great place to hang out. The rooms are interesting, nice and clean although not to my taste. The location is great! We flew in to Newark and got the train in, it was literally opposite the hotel. We spent... More

First visit to NYC and what an experience! Arrived at Penn station following a 15 minute transfer from JFK and made the 2 minute walk to the Manhattan (far quicker and less expensive than a cab). Jonathan on reception greeted us like old friends and nothing was too much trouble which was a welcome relief following our 12 hour journey!... More

I came to NYC for a short weekend visit. Found the hotel through Amtrak when I was purchasing my train tickets. Despite the uneven reviews on this site, I booked it and was very pleasantly surprised. You can't improve on location if you are coming by train. The room was very charming, comfortable, and quiet! The sheets clean and luxurious.... More

Staying in Chelsea

Neighborhood Profile
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighborhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighborhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighborhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.
