I paid over 300 dollars for one night at the Affinia on my way through NYC to Philadelphia. The hotel is very convenient for Penn station and Madison Square Gardens which was why I chose it. Staff were welcoming and the entrance foyer is grand. The room was very disappointing with a tiny bathroom, difficult to control heating and rather... More

We had never stayed here before, but we will stay here again. The beds were the most comfortable of any beds ANYWHERE! The rooms are small, but that doesn't matter, as you really aren't in them much. The bathroom is small but ample. The lobby is modern, although the hotel itself is old. We could here a lot of firetrucks... More

Have stayed in many hotels in Manhattan and would rate this good-very good. Large clean room with comfortable bed. Bathroom tub/shower a little dated and shower curtain needed to be replaced but not horrible. No outside noise ( room in back ) but hallway noises were easily heard. Desk staff were polite.

My fiance and I recently stayed at the Affinia Manhattan for my birthday and had a lovely time. The staff were all incredibly friendly and accommodating. We even got a free upgrade upon our arrival. We had stayed at the Affinia Shelburne last year and loved that hotel as well. We are completely satisfied with all of the Affinia hotels.

Its location by Penn Station is a double edge sword - very convenient if arriving by train, but very very noisy. The hotel is right on top of a fire station. Luckily they provide ear plugs which worked very well. Mixed bag of employees - some very helpful, some very rude. The online check-in worked well, and I was able... More

Though it was a short stay (just one night), we had a great experience at the Manhattan! Every staff member we encountered was extremely friendly and professional. Tatiana from the reception desk and Natalie C. from housekeeping were especially gracious and made us feel very welcomed. Our room was spacious and clean. Plus, the location of the hotel is awesome!... More

We spent a Saturday night during holiday season and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our room was spaciousness, updated and very clean. They have done a wonderful renovation, with a modern and classic lobby. Being close to the train station, a church and firehouse the are can be noisy. Very convenient to shopping, sights and transit.

As I lay in the most uncomfortable bed with 2 crappy pillows trying to fall asleep after flying across the country from SF/Napa, I just want to cry & find a way out of this hotel room. Good thing I only have to be here for about 6 hours. But even that is too long. Where the heck were people... More

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in December 2014. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was in a busy area right next to Penn Station and Madison Square Gardens. The 'deluxe room' had a decent sized comfy bed, spacious sofa and desk area, with ample room for large cases. Room was warm despite it being very cold outside!... More

I stayed at the Affinia Manhattan with my family at the beginning of December and had a lovely time. The hotel was in a great location. After reading reviews about the noise and size of the rooms I would have to disagree. Our room was not noisy at all and was very spacious, we had a one bedroom suite, and... More

Staying in Chelsea

Neighborhood Profile
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighborhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighborhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighborhood new life as a tourist destination.
