We stayed at the Sherry Netherland over Thanksgiving week and really enjoyed our stay there. The location can't be beaten. Rooms were very large by NYC standards. We especially liked that the bathroom had a large counter with plenty of room to hold our toiletry bags, hair dryer, razor, etc. Huge TV was great for watching Thanksgiving Day football -... More

We used to stay for long periods in the hotel in the past. We stopped going there as we thought that we could find some much better other places, but when we came back this time, after our Atlantic crossing on The QueenMary2 from Southampton, we arrived very early in the morning at the hotel and our room was ready.... We chose the hotel based on reviews on TA, and had high expectations due to the reviews and the price. However, we weren't disappointed, and it exceeded our expectations. The service was simply superb - when we mentioned that we were on our honeymoon, the lady at the reception tried her best to find us an upgrade. As our flight... More

We stayed at the hotel for a week over the NY Marathon. The hotel was excellent. We had a room overlooking Central Park which was well worth it. The hotel is fantastically positioned at the crossroads between midtown and Central Park. The room was large with a wonderful view of the Park and down 59th street. Service was very good.... More

We stayed at the Sherry for 7 days at the end of September. It was my husbands special birthday and he wanted to celebrate it in NYC with our 3 teenagers. At first I thought that the Sherry was out of our budget but then saw the special - book a suite and get the interconnecting room complimentary. The rooms... More

During October, we stayed at the Sherry twice - once for two nights and again for one night. We decided to try the Sherry based on positive reviews. We were not disappointed! This is a boutique hotel, with a small but sumptuous lobby and only 50 hotel rooms (in addition to the permanent residents). There are numerous staff, including elevator... More

Over 20 years ago, a wise older gentleman I worked with told me that he always stayed at The Sherry Netherland and that there was no better hotel in NYC. Since than, I've had multiple tips to the city, but circumstances always directed me elsewhere. This year, we had had a long weekend trip planned, and it seemed the right... More

We were looking for a good base for a five day visit to New York. Not a huge budget but we wanted somewhere not too noisy where we could get a good nights sleep Ina nice large comfortable bed. Allegedly not so easy to find in Manhattan. We made a shortlist from Trip Advisor reviews and this hotel was suggested... More

What is not to like at The Sherry! The location is perfect, and the rooms are lovely. The staff is well trained and professional. It is a slice out of a more graceful time, surely. We originally were assigned a room on the second floor which would not work for us at all because of the street noise, even with... More

The staff in the Sherry were charming and could not have been more helpful, however to me a hotel requires some public rooms and at least a coffee shop. The Sherry is a collection of 50 rooms embedded in a massive upmarket residential complex, not a hotel in the conventional sense. It's true that the hotel incorporates the Cipriani restaurant... Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
