Ever since we started staying at this hotel four years ago, we have will never go to another hotel. From the time you check-in, the friendly staff make sure your stay is perfect. We always enjoy seeing how our room or suite is decorated as every one is different. We enjoy having a lemoncello next door at Cipriani's before retiring... More

Picture perfect 1st family visit to NYC, and the Sherry played a huge part. Top to bottom this is a CLASS operation, from the minute you arrive you are treated with white gloved service, doormen, bellman, desk, housekeeping, just excellent. Last minute reservations to Peter Luger's after a broadway show? Renee at the desk made it happen like she had... More

Lovely little hotel and the rooms we had were nice enough, but I found nothing super spectacular about this place. It is across from the park and right next to The Pierre with all the great shopping nearby, as well, but I like many others in NYC better. I did, though, ride up in the elevator with Diana Ross (she... More

My husband and I recently visited the Sherry Netherland for a weekend trip to NY and this hotel was in the perfect location. On the SE corner of Central park, the hotels location on 5th ave. was picturesque! Also, many shops and resturants are within walking distance. The hotels offers amazing suites, with separate kitchens, living and bedrooms. Plenty of... More

Our family stayed in five rooms at the Sherry Netherland this weekend. It's a beautiful old hotel, with excellent service and great attention to detail (eg. the elevator operator remembers on what floor we were staying on the first day). The rooms are spacious for NYC, and were quiet and clean. We have stayed in the Pierre, Waldorf, Essex house,... More

I've stayed in a lot of hotels in New York, this was one of the best. Doorman, elevator (lift) attendant and everyone seemed to remember my name which was probably the most impressive thing. A fridge with several complimentary drinks refreshed every day, free wifi (sadly unusual these days). The location was perfect, right next to the Apple store on... More

We chose this hotel because we wanted to stay in a child friendly location in New York, and to be frank, you pay a little more but you get much more for your money. I don't want to spoil the surprise for you by going into detail about all the niceties that this hotel offers, but I can promise you... More

I have traveled all over the world and stayed at some of the finest hotels in Europe, Asia and Austrialia. A hotel needs to be truly special to impress me enough to leave a review. The Sherry is such a place and I can not say enough about what a wonderful experience it was to stay there. The location is... More

what can I say? attentive staff, homey feel, perfect location, big rooms, tastefully furnished. the hotel is very quiet, no lobby , plenty of " habitues'', you will be called by your name and feel very welcome and taken care of..I really thank all of the team who made us feel at home and particularly jackie who upgraded one of our... I found this quite an odd experience. The hotel is part of an apartment building so doesn't have the feel of a hotel at all. Check in was fine and my bags were delivered quickly to my room and I was shown how to work all the various things in the room. Complimentary drinks in the fridge is a real... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
