I brought my daughter on her first trip to NYC, to visit our son who recently moved to the City. I wanted to stay someplace easy to reach from his upper east side apartment yet close to attractions, and could not have done better. We arrived at 11 p.m., tired from our cross-country trip, and the concierge, bellman & elevator... More

My family and I needed a mini escape for the night. We were blown away once again by the service and attention to detail from the entire staff at The Sherry Netherlands. Hand written welcome cards, fresh flowers, chocolates and libations are their way of welcoming you. In a city of so many hotels to choose from I can't imagine... More

Just returned from our 4th stay at The Sherry. It is the only hotel we consider when visiting NY. Reason being, it NEVER disappoints, in any way. Even though the rooms are very generous in size, splurge on a suite.

This historic hotel is located on the Park near The Plaza Hotel. It is very near the Subway and is the perfect Upper East Side Hotel! The staff is very helpful and welcoming. They make you feel right at home---probably since the hotel has a lot of residences there. The rooms are very spacious for NYC and very comfortable.

We stayed at The Sherry Netherland for our anniversary. Everything was really great. This is a very relaxing and quiet hotel in a great location right across the street from Central park. The room was very nice but the bathroom was a little small. Everyone that we came in contact with on the staff were all very nice and helpful...

Beautiful hotel, very convenient location. Super down to earth friendly staff; from the doorman to the front desk to the elevator operator[ beautiful elevators as well] ! Upgraded us to a suite which was so nice as it was for our anniversary. If only this could be our city apartment! Even had a little [ although not for the city]... More

What a fantastic trip that started with being greeted at the airport by Chris. We used a car service that the hotel recommended for us (we always get a car) this was by far the nicest welcome we've ever had. He was so friendly and waited with us to get our luggage talking to us the whole time about all... More

Wonderful spot at an incredible value. Staff was very helpful at every turn with friendly and efficient staff. Large room, free beverages & chocolate treats in room, very comfy bed.....all in a great location! Nothing not to like here.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
