This was my first visit to this hidden gem and it could not have gone better. Beautiful hotel with a boutique feel, fantastic location (across from central park), excellent service and flawless rooms. I stayed at the Sherry Netherland over St. Patrick's Day and the parade was literally outside the front door. Great restaurant located next door and many other... More

This was our first stay at the Sherry- Netherland. We chose to stay here after reading many wonderful reviews. We were not disappointed!! From the moment we arrived, everyone was so welcoming. The hotel is gorgeous. We had rooms 915 and 916, a king with an adjoining double. My husband and I along with our three teenagers were so comfortable... More

The staff made you feel welcome and did everything they could to make your visit enjoyable. From the assistance of the Concierge making dinner reservations to the kindness of William the doorman the staff was outstanding. The City View room contained a spacious living room and separate bedroom. The bonus of a small kitchen enabled us to enjoy coffee and... More

Immaculate, quiet rooms, comfy beds, (ours was allergy free), beautiful amenities, lovely personnel. Great room service from Cipriani,- delicious, quick, and with a smile. Coffee/tea bar in room. The entire hotel has been completely updated in every detail including its historic ceiling in the lobby.

Visited for a long girls' weekend - and it was marvelous! The room was clean and very comfortable. The location is unbeatable! Most outstanding was the staff, from the doorman to the desk to housekeeping. I look forward to visiting again, next time with my husband.

I love New York but never found a hotel I liked. I saw the reviews on Trip Advisor and thought we would try the Sherry Netherland. What a find. We opted for a room overlooking Central Park which had the best view ever. It was large, unlike other NY hotels we have stayed in. It was beautifully furnished and comfortable... More

Our stay at The Sherry was nothing short of fabulous, from the moment we arrived straight through to when we drove away. The trip, a celebration of our marriage after 21 years together, was made memorable by the upgrade we were given, the friendliness of the staff, the delicious food we consumed at Harry Cipriani's and the absolute beauty of... I brought my daughter on her first trip to NYC, to visit our son who recently moved to the City. I wanted to stay someplace easy to reach from his upper east side apartment yet close to attractions, and could not have done better. We arrived at 11 p.m., tired from our cross-country trip, and the concierge, bellman & elevator... More

My family and I needed a mini escape for the night. We were blown away once again by the service and attention to detail from the entire staff at The Sherry Netherlands. Hand written welcome cards, fresh flowers, chocolates and libations are their way of welcoming you. In a city of so many hotels to choose from I can't imagine... More

Just returned from our 4th stay at The Sherry. It is the only hotel we consider when visiting NY. Reason being, it NEVER disappoints, in any way. Even though the rooms are very generous in size, splurge on a suite.

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
