Hotel is in a great location to enjoy time square but it ends there. It is expensive (even for New York), marginal service (I will skip the customer service sagas), and not the newest inside (typical of a 3 star hotel that looks 10 years old). On the plus side, lots of people and activity and street vendors just outside... More

As others have said, the main strength of this hotel is its location. Its position in the heart of Midtown NYC makes it incredibly easy to walk back from a Broadway show, get to and from hop on hop off bus stops and access visitor attractions such as Central Park, Rockefeller Centre and Times Square. My wife and I were... More

Hello Topdowner, Thank you for leaving such a wonderful review. We are thrilled that you enjoyed first-class sleep, excellent Starbucks coffee, and a convenient location. Your recommendations to fellow travelers are much appreciated; we also love the 53rd Street Gourmet Deli! If you have the opportunity, we suggest trying out our in-house restaurant, Hudson Market, as well. Thanks again for... More

Our party consisted of 4 which stayed in a standard room with 2 double beds. The room was very compact and there was not a lot of room BUT we didn't mind as we weren't there much as we were on a OE we were out exploring and only slept in the room. The facilities were nice, not high standard... More

Incredible location within walking distance to the "Big Three" of Times Square, Central Park, and Rockefeller Center and even closer to various subway stops. Get off at 7th B/D/E and upon emerging at street level you've practically arrived at the front step of the hotel. Subway stations for the red, yellow, and orange lines are also easily reached on foot.... More

We stayed in room 2323 for 3 nights mid July. Hotel is centrally located and help from concierge was excellent. However the room was dirty. Floor was obviously not vacuumed, toilet bowl was stained and worst of all bedspread and blanket on one of the beds were stained with blood!

For the most part, I enjoyed the stay at the Sheraton New York Times Square Hotel. I would like to share some plusses and minuses from my 3-night visit in July 2014. On the hotel’s Web site, the Sheraton touts its “world-class New York City Midtown amenities.” I would argue that some of the amenities and service fall somewhat short... More

My daughter and I arrived for a dance convention for a total of 9 days. My first impression of the hotel was the large amount of smokers congregating outside the entrance, not pleasant at all. We then approached the reception desk to check in where we were greeted by non friendly staff, no smiling, no welcome, nothing! My daughter and... More

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of an organised trip from Canada. We found the hotel to be good in all areas except for the slight issue I would have with the size of the beds in room. We were a family of 4 and the beds were only queen size but we made do. The hotel is... More

Very nice spot. One of the busiest hotels I have ever stayed in, but well managed, clean and friendly. Close to Central Park, a variety of restaurants and shopping at Times Square. Glad it wasn't in the center of Times Square which was a crazy, cool, madhouse. I'd definitely stay there again.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
