The location of this hotel is convenient for most places in Manhattan. However the hotel interior is in serious need of redecoration and refreshment. As you walk into the main lobby you are greeted with dark grey walls and an uninviting reception where we waited for several minutes before being dealt with by aloof staff. We had booked a king... I have stayed at this hotel several times over the past three years, and all my experiences have been very good. The hotel is pricey but easily up to Western high class standards. The service has always been efficient and helpful. I have eaten in all the restaurants. The restaurant and the buffet are excellent. The Mediterranean restaurant is my... More

Visited in January 2015. Hotel was very basic and dated. Location is very good being close to Times Square so a definate plus but in terms of hotel standard, it was very basic, rooms were small and hygiene in bathrooms was poor. Tiles were in desparate in need of being cleaned or replaced. We were given complimentary wifi from our... More

In the past I have out bad reciews down to people ranting and the fact that it's our nature to moan about things rather than praise where it's due. This was a mistake. Bar it's location and a few of the staff this hotel is truly terrible The first night we were kept awake by what sounded almost like a... More

The location of this place is exceptional - couldn't ask for better - especially for New Years Eve.!!!! The checkin process did take some time - housekeeping was a little shoddy at times - 3 adults CANNOT use hand towels to dry themselves (even if given 12) and a bottle of spirits did go missing......The lifts were out of action... This is the second time that I have stayed at the Manhattan. The first time was December 2013. This stay was good however there was a problem with the hot water. We chose to stay a second time over Christmas 2014 as they sent us a good deal which worked out to be much cheaper than the hotel we had... More

This is becoming my go-to hotel when I have to be in New York City. Last visit found me there for 3 days, so I really got to experience the rhythm of the place. What I like is the staff at the breakfast bar in the morning. John and Will can't do enough to make their customers just smile. Next... More

My husband had booked this trip as a surprise, to be honest I was a bit weary of the hotel judging some of the reviews on trip advisor. So I emailed the hotel and Tim got straight back to me and reassured me. Lobby looks great no problems with the elevators our room was spot on big bed and Tv,... More

Location was good but that is the only positive thing I have to say about this place. There was a smell of urine in the bathroom, the tv didn't work, and it was obvious the floor behind the headboard had not been cleaned recently. We were only there two nights and were on a very tight schedule so we didn't... More

We enjoyed our stay here. Great location. Room included on the go pastries fruit and beverage which worked well for us. We particularly want to thank John P from housekeeping. We coincidentally met him one day in Queens when we were looking for directions to a museum and then found him working at this Hotel later that evening. He went... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
