We like to stay in different neighborhoods when we visit New York City so we chose the Shelburne for location on our most recent visit. As we pulled up to the hotel, we were disappointed to see it surrounded by scaffolding, which indicated it was being renovated. So, during our stay, there was the dust and noise of the work.... more

Just so you know this Hotel is being renovated at the moment and it looks like it is going to be fabulous. The hotel itself is old in style but so clean it is unbelieveable. We got an UNBELIEVABLE deal on a room at the Shelburne through Hotels.ca...I think I was at the right place at the right time - but only paid $127 a night!! I agree with the other reviewers. This hotel has so many things going for it - the size of the rooms - the kitchenette, cleanliness and location.
