No problems and no complaints. Check in was easy - nice cold water in the lobby too. Elevators were reasonable. Room was roomy - quite large for NYC, clean, great beds and linens. Clean and new bathroom. I appreciated the little kitchenette area and the refridgerator that made ice. It was quiet, nice, everything worked and again - clean and... More

Ahh.. What can I say about the Shelburne... First of all, it was a very cute classy NYC style boutique hotel right in Midtown. Close to Times Square, Central Park, and 5th Ave, this hotel really was a good match for our budget and needs. We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed complimentary wine at every night before we left... We stayed for 4 nights in August in a one bedroom suite whilst on a short vacation from the UK. Plenty of space in the suite even with the sofa bed made up in the second room which was great for 2 adults and a teenager. Kitchen area was stocked with tea/coffee making facilities and a selection of confectionary and... More

I loved to stay in this hotel, the attitude of all the staff is awesome and you will be very close to the main transportation routes, you can just walk out of the building and get to grand central in a 5 minute walk.

We had the standard queen room. It was spacious and clean and bright. The front desk was extremely friendly and helpful. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Even though our room was next to the elevator, we didn't have any problems with noise. The location was quite good - we were able to walk or hop on the train to... More

The rooftop view is really nice. Breakfast in this hotel is just alright, given the price is quite high. The bed and pillow ( they have a pillow menu) are awesome, very comfortable. The room size is the biggest among my 10+ times stay in NYC. Frontdesk is very efficient. Definitely will be back this dec for my next business... More

The Affinia is a slightly funky left-field choice (an image one feels is entirely planned) and makes a nice change from the homogenous offerings of the big chains. Check-in was fast and efficient, and the room spotless. The room facilities included a well stocked mini bar, complimentary WiFi, fully adjustable air conditioning, a TV with a seemingly infinite number of... More

This is a fantastic hotel. Staff was incredibly nice and helpful. Room was better than expected. Bathroom was big. Room has plenty of mirrors. There's also a bar at the rooftop which is nice, spacious. I would def. return back to this hotel. However, a bit far from time square.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
