This is by far one of the best values in a mid price hotel in Manhattan. It is very clean and comfortable. The entire staff from the doormen to the reception staff are magnificent. The manager, Jada Mcgill is a superb individual, very friendly and always willing to offer her assistance. She is a true professional. I have stayed in... More

The Shelburne exceeded our expectations in every way. Our room was huge with a kitchen, living area with tv, king size bed and bathroom. We had a great view from the 15th floor (Empire State Bldg) and the staff was amazing. We went during the holiday season and expected delays/issues, but there were none. The front desk was friendly and... More

i'm not sure where to begin. i can tell you this, due to my bad & regretful experience at this place it prompted me to create this account just to write this. can't call down to the front desk anymore, there's no more complaining that can be done. it was my mistake. we didn't follow the golden rule, it just... Here is was I like about the Shelburne hotel -- like other Affinia hotels your room includes a kitchen and sitting room. The staff was also very nice. I like the Murray Hill neighborhood, it's very walkable and has a number of good "local" restaurants. Unfortunately, we did not care for our room. The furniture was tattered and worn, the... More

This was a very pleasant suprise. Near Grand Central Station it is located near subways. It's clean, friendly with a nice Restarant attached. Our room was large by any standards - I've stayed in some NYC hotels where you can barely get out of the side of the bed. Very happy to have found this gem.

I stayed at this hotel with my family for a night in July and we had a great time! The rooms were clean, updated and had nice views of nearby rooftop gardens. The room had two queen beds, but didn't feel tight at all. There was plenty of room! The bathroom was also very nicely updated and extremely clean. The... More

Great location for a first time visitor. 2 blocks from Grand Central station, 20 minute walk to Times Square touristy area. Just minutes from 5th ave & Madison ave shops! Clean basic rooms, but that's all I needed since I was out all day! Would stay her again for sure!

This was our 4th trip to NYC and the hotel was lovely, modern, clean rooms and we enjoyed the free wine hour each night. We stayed here for 9 nights over Christmas and new year but we felt the staff were unpleasant. Two main things that stood out for us - When we checked in nobody gave us directions to... More

We thoroughly enjoyed an eight night stay at the Affinia Shelburne. I booked online in advance following a recommendation and my request for a higher floor room with a view was fabulously met - we were on the 14th floor looking straight out at the Empire State Building. A great start to our first visit to NYC. Check in was... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
