Excellent Experience during our stay. We were able to get a very good price for the area we wanted to stay. Staff, room, restaurant were all very good. During your stay you must go to the Rooftop....fantastic view and good service.

The hotel gave mixed impressions, as the entrance lobby was modern and fresh, but when stepping up to the room floors it was clear the building is a bit old. At the same time, the rooms interior, especially furniture and bathroom, felt modern and new. Our room was small, but we got a full king size bed and to be... More

Let me start with the good stuff: Great location, near Times Square, Empire State Building and Rockefeller center. Very friendly and helpful front desk. Great bed, good sound isolation from a loud and busy NY street, comfortable and spacey room. Now with the problems: Not as clean as one would expect for a hotel in this price range. Room windows... This is the second time I stayed at the Shelburne hotel and, again, it was wonderful. The rooms are extremely quiet, very clean and most of all the hotel staff is terrific. They were so helpful in every way AND with a smile on their face. I will definitely stay there again.

Stayed the first weekend of December with my mother, who hadn't been to NYC in 25 years. The staff, especially the front desk (I think her name was Michelle) were incredible and very accommodating of our early check in needs, even when we just asked to store our luggage until check in time. It was my first time staying, and... More

We had a very good stay at this hotel. Our stay kicked off with an early check-in that was very welcomed after a long flight. The bedroom was really big and confortable, great furniture and the bathroom was so spacious! Loved it! I would say this hotel is similar to Dumont NYC, also by Affinia, where we stayed 2 years... Really nice hotel. Large rooms, small refrigerator in room, rooftop bar with beautiful views of the Empire State Building and the city and a complimentary wine social in the early evenings. Staff is very helpful and hospitable. The hotel is in the Murry Hill area of the city, within walking distance to many attractions.

excellent location, friendly staff and nice rooms, very clean and in good conditions The only complain is that at arrival no one was present to take care of the luggages. The internet was excellent and the staff very gentle and warm.

A friend and I chose the Shelburne based on others' reviews and location. We were not disappointed. The room was clean and nicely appointed. The bathroom had a fabulous shower and delightfully scented body pump shower gel/shampoo/ conditioner. The location is excellent...just a few blocks from Grand Central Station. Penelope and Bloom's deli nearby are excellent choices for breakfast. The... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
