I stayed at the Riverside in August for 3 nights(?). My room was microscopic. My bathroom was smaller than that. My shower was the size of a phone booth. The hallways are dark and narrow. Everything about this hotel is a claustrophobes nightmare. I was on the 13th floor. The elevator-if you have space issues as I do you're out... More

I'm hesitant to post a review, but that's only because I want a room to be available at this property should I need a place on the UWS again. As with most other reviewers, the two best positives are location and price. The property is located in a GREAT, quiet, residential neighborhood where you might even see famous(ish) actors you... In a City were you can drop a small fortune on a nights stay this place located in a wonderful area can not be beat, unless you think you should be pampered. My two 20 something sons and I shared a suite for two nights, enjoyed the City, nearby is Broadway and Central Park, lots of nice restaurants, etc. It... More

Is the third time I stay at this hotel, but there is no maintenance and is much worse lately. Once there was a room used as a living room. Now is no longer available. There are no common areas. Therefore very uncomfortable.

My sister-in-law and I stayed here 4 years ago and really liked it then. The 14th floor, where we stayed this year, has been "updated" with paint, new TVs, and new tile in the bathrooms. Still a great value if you want a good bed to sleep in, nice staff, close to restaurants , the subway, Central Park and Riverside... More

Stayed here for 4 nights 26th-30th of October, and it is just what you need in a city like New York where you will want to be out and about all the time. Standard basic room and clean. Good location, very near to the subway and some restaurants and shops. Also just a short walk from the Museum of Natural... More

This is an old college dorm with tiny elevators. We booked a "suite" which turned out to be two dorm rooms connected with a Jack and Jill bath. Each room had a twin bed with a trundle bed underneath. There was a microwave and fridge. The rooms looked like they had been painted every year during their service as a... More

We stayed for one night and fully expected a small, un-fancy room due to the price. However, when we pulled back the bedspread, there were (many) hairs. Not sure how adequate the housekeeping is. The elevators were somewhat scary. On the positive side, though, the location is ideal. Easy to get in and out using the West Side Highway and... More

As an experienced world traveler, whenever I plan a budget-minded trip I am wise enough to keep my expectations low when it comes to hotels and services. At the end of the day, that is what gets me through the odds and frustrations that can easily be characteristic of this type of travel. However, my stay at the Riverside Tower... More

For the price this really good located hotel is absolutely okay. The room was small but structured and the bath was nice and tidy. The only thing to moan about is that the window in our room let a really cold breeze in. At the last night they probably realized that and put the heater on the highest level to... More
