Rooms in the suit were very small, old and worn out. Musty and stale air in the rooms and halls (windows didn't open and no AC). Bed and bedding appeared clean but lots of dust in in room corners and edges. No chains on doors and door locks seemed ancient and weak. We put chair under door knob at night.... More

The staff here were very friendly and helpful. The accommodation itself is certainly basic, so you have to be happy to accept that. We had a "suite" - two rooms with an interconnecting bathroom. The door to the double room opened against the bed, so we all went in and out through the other room, which had a single bed... More

The room was a bit small, but it was comfortable. Good location. It seemed to be a bit updated from the last time I had stayed there. My only complaint was the hallway could be a bit noisy, but other than that it was ok.

Not the greatest place to stay but as it has already been said the location is great and you get a private bathroom. Bed seemed clean but not too sure about corners of rooms, I didn't look too closely. It did the job for us as we only used the room to sleep and shower and enjoyed all that New... More

Fantastic location, safe upmarket area with quiet streets and great access to the parks (Central & Riverside), and only two blocks from the Metro 1 Line. However, the hotel in itself needs a compete make over or be knocked down. The whole place is claustrophobic, from the coffin like elevators, the hallways, the rooms themselves and even the shower. Great location. Small but clean rooms. Friendly staff. Several good restaurants close by. Subway only two blocks away. Interior a little worn, but what can you expect at that price in NYC? I will come back next time I go to New York. Have stayed in other low-priced hotels in Manhattan, and Riverside is the one that I would prerfer.

I stayed here for three nights in late September and loved the location! Directly across the street from Riverside Park and the Hudson River, I was able to run each morning along the Hudson amidst the bike-riding morning commuters. This hotel is an easy 3-minute walk from the metro station at Broadway and W 79th, so getting every where was... More

With the room rate at about $100 a night below any other decent NYC hotel, this is a real value. Yes, the rooms are very small, but they are clean, the front staff is friendly and helpful, the beds are quite comfortable (with feather, not foam pillows), the shower is fine, and the location is very good. Restaurants are nearby... More

If you are looking for a room with no amenities this is your place. When I say no frills, I mean no frills. They didn't even spring for a chain lock for the door. I booked a double bed, at least this is what I thought, but I booked a double room. This meant that I booked a room for... More

Our family of 2 adults and 2 kids stayed here for 6 nights. We booked what amounted to two rooms with an interconnecting shower/toilet in between. The furnishings are dated, the air-con was pretty noisy and space was limited but on the positive side they manage to squeeze in a fridge and microwave, small dining table with two chairs, one...
