the most beautiful place is its rooftop!! u can enjoy a wonderful panorama:::city lights and Manhattan skyscrapers. in other words, a refined, original, intimate place in NYC. Our room was not wide, but the shower stall huge.

First of all, most hotels in NY fall down in one area or another but I thought The Sanctuary was first class on almost every count. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Well presented rooms and public areas, lovely and warm on a cold day, good breakfasts and positioned absolutely perfectly between Times Square and Radio City on 5th. I would... More

We spent a week here in January just before the Juno blizzard luckily our flight back to the UK was one of the ones not cancelled. The staff make this hotel they are welcoming and extremely polite and helpful. The hotel's decor is very nice although it might be a tad dark for some peoples tastes. Room was a tad... More

We stayed here for my wife's birthday weekend and couldn't have picked a better spot. The moment we stepped inside we were greeted with the friendliest staff we've ever met. Everybody was very knowledgeable about the surrounding area and really went out of their way to make you feel at home. The hotel was located perfectly between central park and... More

I've traveled to New York in the past and generally speaking have always had "good" service. In this particular case, I can tell you that the feeling of "being taken care of" from the staff all the way from the bellman, desk, lobby attendants and restaurant staff was noticeable. The hand towels as you check in were an added bonus.... More

My husband treated me to a stay at The Sanctuary for my Birthday last weekend. We left a pile of snow behind in New Jersey and relaxed with a few libations amongst the palm trees and Moroccan decor on the rooftop restaurant and bar, Haven. Felt like we were a million miles away! Can't say enough about the staff from... More

Beautiful little boutique hotel just off Times Square. Super friendly staff and fast check in. The rooms are a bit on the small side but the nice decorations make up for it. One night we had dinner in tender restaurant - absolutely worth it. We will come again.

We loved our stay at The Sanctuary. The staff really worked as a team. They were all welcoming and truly wanted to be helpful. One key amenity was the included continental breakfast and wonderful coffee. It's time American hotels start offering this as a standard part of the experience, like every other place in the world. The rooms are updated... More

We felt welcomed the second we arrived. Who would think a hotel would still have Doormen, Bellhops, friendly smiles and just about anything else they could do for you to make you feel welcome, just does not happen anymore. Please Sanctuary Hotel stay the way you are and I certainly will return. Hey when your concierge looks like Paul Newman... More

For my wedding in NYC nearly two weeks ago, we had the extreme good fortune to choose Sanctuary Hotel as our family's lodging. To step into their world of Asian serenity, dark, soothing colors, and genuine, personalized service was a wonderful antidote to the craziness of wedding events set in the heart of always frenzied New York. The accommodations and... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
