We'll be honest...we booked the hotel because the rate was so good and the hotel is located in midtown, right where we wanted to be. We had stayed here years ago, and while we didn't remember having any problems then, it didn't stand out in our memory as an outstanding stay. Well, this time was different. The hotel is much... Check in was fabulous and expedited. I was excited that I was awarded my upgrade request... When I arrived in the room though I was very irritated that the extra money I spent for a high floor was facing a brick wall. Who would pay extra for that?? I should have gotten a discount! I didn't request any services. There... More

I was surprised to meet a resort fee of about $25 when I checked in. When I asked the manger what the fee was she said to me that it was on their website etc; and on expedia. I explained to her that I didn't see the fee until after I had received the booking confirmation. She (Denise) further explained... More

A very nice hotel. Stayed there since it was in walking distance to the theatre that was showing The River starring Hugh Jackman. Even though it was raining coming back to the Park Central was very enjoyable. We had diner and drinks before retiring for the evening. A great sleep.

We traveled here for a quick Christmas getaway. The location was perfect. Nice short walk to Central Park, FAO Schwartz, and Rockefeller Center. We also used the concierge to help set up a tour. ( the timing of the concierge was not the best, could have been better. Was out to lunch both times we went to the desk and... More

This hotel located in a great location with a subway station ( N, Q, R trains ) right beside the hotel. The hotel is only a few blocks from Rockefeller Center, Times Square, Radio City Music Hall, and Central Park. Carnegie Hall is right across the street. Queen beds were very comfortable.

Stayed four nights at the Park Central from 19/12 to 23/12. The hotel is located in midtown in one of the best possible areas, between Central Park and Times Square (slightly closer to the park). Times Square is 5 mins walk away and the Rockerfeller is 6/7 mins away. 59th street Subway is right below the hotel and there are... More

I needed a centrally located hotel for one night and the Park Central fitted the bill. The hotel was renovated recently and my room was a decent size and nicely appointed. Check in was efficient and friendly. The room was impeccably clean, the bed comfortable. By New York standards, the price was reasonable. A slight irritation was when I asked... More

Spent a couple of nites here on a business trip and got a great rate through the party we were visiting ($159/nite) though it looks less good when the $25/nite "facilities fee' is added. This hotel is beautifully decorated. The rooms are large though the design could be improved to add space to the very small bathrooms. The room has... More

I am actually fine with this hotel, except for one thing. I got the reservation off the discount web-site, Hotels Tonight. I paid around $200, plus an additional facilities fee at the hotel. So this is a bargain for Manhattan, and it is very conveniently located close to Columbus Circle. This place is huge. It occupies an entire city block,... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
