I am not 100% clear why there are so many negative reviews for this hotel? I stay in hotels over 100+ nights a year so I have stayed in all types of hotels!.My experience here was terrific. Yes it is an older hotel so it has an older feel and older décor BUT absolutely nothing wrong with it in my... More

We have stayed at Murray Hill East several times. Really like the residential neighborhood feel of this area - it seems to be quieter and not as hectic as other places we have stayed at in Manhattan. We had a studio room which is very spacious for two people. It actually was an apartment or condo once upon a time... More

A perfect hotel for you if: • You like really cheap sheets and towels and have an aversion to anything with natural fibers like cotton • Love the sound of a busy NYC street at night — the windows on the street side do not provide any meaningful sound protection. I actually thought the windows were open — they weren't.... More

We chose this hotel for the location (we like the Murray Hill area) and price. I admit that the complaints I read on Trip Advisor about the old mattresses and noisy rooms facing the street gave me concern, but, happily, our suite had a new mattress and we asked for and got a room facing the courtyard. Very quiet and... More

I stayed here with my husband on a business trip and to be fair did not pay for the hotel myself. Still I have to voice my opinion. This is just SO outdated it is almost funny.if we moved In the bed the matress would rock like a boat. The furniture are scraped and the towels felt like paper.if you... More

I stayed for one night in this hotel and was thankful that it was for only one night. Everyone was very helpful and nice - concierge, front desk. However, this hotel is old, run down and needs renovations in a bad way. I would not recommend this hotel to people and would not stay there again. I would pay a... More

I will start with the good: great location, big rooms, clean, good price (booked online w online blind pricing). The bad: as with other reviews, our bed was more hammock like than a bed. It was so bad we tried the pull out sofa bed - they were equally bad. Although we requested a non-smoking room I could still smell... More

Lots of space to spread out in a quiet suite. Location was just right, walking distance to the theatre district and access to public transportation to museums to the north. Lots of neighborhood places to eat and little grocery stores to pick up supplies for your complete kitchenette. Also, reasonably priced!

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
