I'll begin by saying that my friend booked this room for this trip, if I had known there was no room service - I NEVER would've stayed there. I'm an avid coffee drinker and whenever I travel I order coffee from the hotel via room service. The rooms are very small and the lobby is equally small. The shower was... More

We paid extra $$$$ for the upgrade to a corner room suite. Unfortunately the room was so disappointing that we will never do it again. We did asked to be moved but they were unable to accommodate us so we overpaid again and again for a room that was not worth the price. While the view was great the bathroom... More

I was in town for a couple of days of business meetings and chose the Eastside because of its central location in midtown. It offers good access via subway, cab or even walking to many attractions in the area, along with the businesses I visited. The standard room was adequate, but quite small and it was clean. The hotel staff... More

Near/next to several high end hotels on east side and just south of central park. Can walk to Times Square but is away from the hustle/bustle of the noise of Times Square. Went during xmas and was close walking to all of the high end stores that have the xmas scenes in the windows. No room service in hotel. There... More

I am here with my family for some theater, dance and opera. Thought this would be a great choice given the location. Mistake!! We are life time platinum members. Stayed in seemingly countless Marriott throughout the world for the last 35 years. Thought this was a full service Marriott. Wrong!!. The Lounge last night had frozen empanadas, a salad they... This hotel is superb in terms of location, service and amenities, however some updating would not be a bad idea. Located very near Rockefeller Center and Grand Central Station so the location could not be better. The bar prices, even for NYC are a bit too high, we paid $60 for a bottle of wine that I just purchased locally... More

We needed to stay here for business reasons, it was closest to our meetings. That being said, I wish we'd opted for something a bit different. The hotel was clean, but very old, and the lobby is miniscule, even by New York standards. The elevators were small and weren't always working well. The room was clean, but small, which is... More

Nice stay at Marriott. Within walking distance of Times Square, Central Park, etc. If you have trouble walking I would recommend staying at the Marriott in Times Square. Take in a broadway play if you can and don't forget about the off-broadway shows... We have seen some fabulous ones! As far as Marriotts go it was nice but not superior.... More

I will shop for another option when returning to Manhattan. The room felt old but comfortable. In NYC and Boston you can expect a lot of downtown hotel rooms to be somewhat small and feel like what they are...pretty old hotels that have been remodeled multiple times. This Marriott is no exception. It had a low, popcorn ceiling and 2... More

The location of the hotel was good but the ambiance left a lot to be desired. The lobby area was always crowded with either people from the streets or from large groups checking in and out. The elevators were extremely slow and also always crowded. I am a faithful, Gold Elite Member, and was very disappointed in the hotel overall... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
