Stayed for a Friday and Saturday night last month when the concierge lounge was closed. Expecting a free breakfast in the hotel restaurant in lieu, as the rules have been for many years, we discovered that this is one of the 15 Marriott Hotels World wide that have excluded themselves from the free weekend breakfast for elite MR members. In... More

The rooms are close to being worn and frumpy. I moved my room twice because of noise- first because of some people the management could not persuade to be quiet, and then once more due to an air conditioning unit that created noise that would drown out a jack hammer. I ended up on the 33rd floor, requiring transfer to... More

Good Evening, Thank you for choosing the Marriott East Side for your NYC trip. I apologize that we had multiple issues trying to find you a quiet and comfortable room during your short visit. The AC unit noise is something we are consistantly working on along with the elevator system. I can understand the frustration of being upgraded to a... More

The hotel is located in a very nice area. It's close to Times Square, Central Park and great restaurants. Very nicely maintained older building with character. The concierge lounge is excellent, Kendra Caniglia works tirelessly to help and assist both business travelers and vacationers with planning, she is very pleasant and always smiling!

I really like the location away from Times Square and close to really excellent local restaurants. The building is older, but the rooms are large and comfortable. Concierge room on 2nd floor is large and has much better than typical Marriott food for breakfast and evening. It is closed on the weekend. Staff is well trained, professional and polite on... More

Good location, clean hotel. Not a lot of street noise from the room (you will still hear sirens and horns but no shouting or car noise). Walking distance to theater district and tourist stuff. Close to a subway station as well. Hotel bar/restaurant is pricey (also adds a "service" charge fyi, I was told by my friend after that it... More

The hotel is certainly in a good location - close to 5th ave, a short walk to 53rd street subway station, Grand Central Terminal, Rockefeller Plaza and Times Square to name a few locations. I had booked a single room for two nights but the nights were split apart by two weeks (start and end of a holiday) and on... More

I only stayed a couple of nights but I really enjoyed this hotel. Definitely get the wonderful Marriott bed but I also got a very large room. Lots of windows, good desk space for business plus a seating area. Bathroom space was sufficient also. The lobby is gorgeous and the elevators are vintage but work well. Best part was the... More

The hotel is bustling and very clean. The beds and linens were terrific. There was more space in the room than I expected from a NYC hotel. The valet parking was very convenient but of course expensive. Overall a great stay.

This is a pleasant hotel, easy to use a base for exploring New York. Rooms are fine, seemed to be a mix of old and newer furnishings. We had a room with a small frig. Did not use concierge or other hotel services. This hotel is a couple of blocks from the subway, and a 10-15 minute walk from Times... More

Excellent location when in the city to see a show, Safe, clean, great service provided by all. Only down side is the elevators, take FOREVER to get up and down. Plan to leave your room a bit earlier than you normally would.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
