Went there after a disastrous stay at it's sister hotel, the Renaissance New York Hotel 57 (a word of advice, avoid that property). We stayed there for a night. Staff was excellent, the executive lounge seems to be great (we arrived on a Friday and the lounge was already closed, but we were able to sneak in and take a... More

My family and I stayed here for 4 nights. Ideal location. Not too-hectic [in NYC standards] yet close to everything.. 15 minute walk to times square, 10 minutes Bloomingdale and Rock center. Footsteps to subway. Breakfast not included, but there r many places to go to around the corner[s] Drawback: I booked a room w 2 double beds but they... More

This building is old and cold, matching the Gotham City style of its location in Manhattan. Its effectiveness comes from the fact that you come in, you sleep and then you go out, i.e. you do not really want to spend time in it. The overall services match its style as well, i.e. you ask and you obtain within the... More

This is a good property to stay at in your doing business in Midtown that's walkable from Grand Central, Times Square, or other midtown locations. It's certainly quieter than the chaos over at Times Square, so that's a big plus, while still close to almost everything. It's a bit aging and needs to be refreshed a bit. My upgraded room... More

Stayed in a standard king size room. The hotel overall was very nice, the room was particularly spacious and up to date by New York standards and with a decent bathroom! The bed was incredibly comfortable and the staff I spoke to in reception were very genuine and approachable. Location is great - walking distance to tourist areas and lots... More

The new lobby is great -- flows into a nice bar & lounge/work area with nice big tables (great for the business prep meetings!). The staff were all very friendly -- from the doorman, bell, front, restaurant - I really appreciated that! Location (for me) was great -- I wanted to be close to Times Square/Theater, but not too close.... More

Excellent stay. We stayed for the U2 concert and they serve us very well. It was cery centric. 3 blocks from time square, plenty of places to hang out at night. We use the city bike service for $20 daily an we run almost the entire city in just 3 days.

It was the best decision to stayb. The location is awesome. Subway a couple of blocks. You can walk to the Rockefeller Center. The National restaurant one block to your right is a very good option for breakfast. Rooms are quite small, but understandable for a big city.

This is the second time I've visited this hotel and will more than likely be the last. I love the location of the hotel, it's convenient for lots of activities, Central Park, Times Square, Grand Central, 5th Avenue shopping are all within walking distance (and as an added bonus, Ess a Bagel is just round the corner but I'll do... We got a good corner standard room for the price, comfortable and pleasant and a great view of the Chrysler Building. Service was good and quick, location great in mid-town Manhattan. No breakfast included but there are many other options outside. Wifi was good, though it was charged. Would certainly stay here again.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
