I love this location! It's away from the chaos of Time Square, so the rooms are quiet, yet still a quick walk to all the sights. The rooms are larger than many in NY, though their decor is outdated and could use a makeover. Aesthetics aside, the beds are comfy, the place is clean, and the staff is incredibly friendly... More

We had a great experience at the New York Marriott East Side. Our check-in was fast, the staff was friendly and responsive, and the rooms were what I expected from a Marriott. I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the rooms given other NYC hotels that I have stayed in. I am pregnant, as was a friend of mine... More

I stayed here recently for a work trip, and fortunately enough I will be staying there again soon. From the minute I walked in until I left, the staff was unfailingly friendly and helpful - from those at the front desk to the housekeeping staff to one specific engineer/maintenance man. I had a major problem to begin with in that... More

Stayed here numerous times due to location is very convenient. Rooms small but consistent Concierge level is very good but only accessible to certain levels of rewards guests. Dining area never busy. Reasonable price for overall quality.

Not sure why the mediocre reviews. I have stayed in 5 star and 2 star locations in New York City several times and trust me this place is not that bad. The location is prime and off the beaten path so you are not overrun by tourists like in Times Square. This location sits near UN building and close to... More

A slightly dated hotel but adequate for 3 days over New Year. The lifts are very slow and very small so always a wait to get to your room. The hotel bar is ridiculously expensive for poor service $6 for a glass of soda water! The concierge service was excellent offering great advice on where to go and how best... More

I was in town for a wedding and stayed in a junior suite for two nights. Ended up extending the trip by a day and moved to a standard king bed for the last night. The junior suite cost twice as much, but it was still a good deal and it was nice to have the extra space. The bed... More

It's nicely located on Lexington Ave- close to grand central terminal and close to Central Park. The ground floor lobby is very noisy not good for meetings- the bar is ok - service could be better. Rooms are nice size - don't stay in lower floors - 16th rooms are nice.

Tiny room. Needs updating. No room service.Location is good but the hotel leaves much to be desired. Hard to believe its a full scale Marriott (as opposed to a Courtyard, or Spring Hill Suites). Have stayed there twice in past 2 months and won't go again. Many other options in the area. Choose wisely.

My first trip to New York and this hotel was in a great location. Patrick at Bell desk gave us great tips for getting around and he was extraordinarily helpful. Kendra and Margaret in Club lounge were extremely helpful too. Got us money-off vouchers for shows etc. Reception staff weren't quite so friendly; perhaps they didn't enjoy their jobs as... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
