Hotel has a great location, that is the best that can be said of it. The rooms are outdated with old, dirty carpeting. My room was on the front of the hotel and extremely noisy even though I was on a higher floor. The bathroom was small, but had good water pressure and hot water. What really stunned me is... More

The Marriott East Side is a gem of a hotel centrally located in Manhattan's Midtown district, just one block from Park Avenue, 2 blocks from Madison Avenue and 3 blocks from the sights and shopping of Fifth Avenue. It is across the street from the famed Waldorf Astoria. There are shops and restaurants just steps from the hotel and it... More

Spent one night here to celebrate my mom's 70th birthday. Great, central location. Easily walked to Bloomingdales and dinner. Hotel was in good shape. Not super fancy, but clean and nice. All the employees were really welcoming. The front desk worker upgraded us to a larger room and sent up a bottle of Prosecco for my mom's birthday. Bar in... More

My boyfriend and I stayed for one night and the stay was good not great. The location is perfect! Central Park and 5th Ave are walking distance! Sam checked me in at the front desk and he was kind to meet my requests when I asked for a high floor, check in was a breeze. My room was spacious and... More

Marriott is a worldwide brand one can count on---ideal location. A nice walk to Radio City Music Hall tonight and located near Central Park which is ideal for that perfect morning run! We have a room on the 16th floor with a very comfortable bed, the air conditioner works perfectly and is keeping the room very cool like we prefer.... More

The Marriott East Side is a nice vintage NYC hotel. The hotel was built in the 1920s but has certainly had numerous renovations over the years and is charming yet still provides contemporary amenities. The rooms are small by not tiny like some NYC hotels, but this is typical of older hotels in the city. The midtown location is great... More

Stayed here for the first time last week. Very quick and easy check-in. I was on the 28th floor, so the room was very quiet. The room was also very clean and everything was provided. The hotel is in easy walking distance to everything you need in NY. Also, the Concierge was very helpful. The only issue I had (and... More

As a very frequent business traveler to NYC, I am constantly searching for the hotel that provides the perfect combination of midtown convenience, a decent size room, one that is well appointed and updated, and has minimal noise...which I understand is hard in the city so I cut all hotels a lot of slack for sirens. Cost needs to be... More

We were visiting my daughter who attends college in NY and she wanted to get away from the dorm and stay with us. Visit was lovely. The room was very comfortable and we could not hear others in the building which I am grateful for. Great location. We'd definitely stay again! Always be sure though to check your bill before... The Marriott East Side is located Lex & 49th/48th. This Marriott is a fine choice for a mid-town visit & business. It is a stone's throw from 2 other Marriott group hotels, so be sure to book into the correct one. The service was friendly and the room was spacious and thoroughly clean. The elevators are slow, as another review... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
