I've stayed at this hotel many times, but not sure I will be back. It has become very dated and needs help. From the revolving door that you enter from the street that malfunctioned twice while I was there, to the elevators that took way too long, to my room where you had to move the desk chair to get... I was in NYC for a work conference and added a few extra days and stayed for the weekend. We stayed at the Mariott East Side. It was a nice hotel, nice lobby, lobby bar, door men etc. Good location, easy 10-15 minute walk to Time Square and the sites around midtown. Minor things in the room made it look... More

We had the worst experience at this hotel. We just stayed one night, but one staff opened our door directly around 8 am. When we sent the feedback to the front desk, she replied us it's the room service. We felt so bad and scared of the service. Please be careful to the personal security and their bad service. And... I have a very short stay for a quick meeting. The location was perfect for my needs and it is walking distance to many places even if you are on leisure. Upon my arrival late at night I was never greeted by a doorman, who was busy chatting with a taxi driver, the front desk agent said hello, but it... More

Stayed here recently as a Marriott Gold Member...no Marriott welcome or thanks on check-in, no concierge on weekend (no meal voucher like many other Marriott's) "we do nt do that".........no double beds as they were all pre-booked (yet I arrived at 1120) ....parking expensive (65/day?).....good location....sundry shop is expensive even by NYC standards ($2.5 for a small bag of Lays).......stayed... This hotel is located a few blocks east of Rockefeller Plaza. Our room with two double beds was one of the largest I've been in in Manhattan. The room was clean and comfortable and the beds had quality firm mattresses. The bathroom had a tub shower and was also clean and well maintained. The Lobby and lobby bar area were... More

Very good location. This hotel is the excellent place to stay. Great service! Room was wonderful, not facing the outside wall. Good for local transportation. Good location for walking and taking the bus line. Great location to walk to the shows, restaurants, etc. You need to stay here!

The hotel has a number of restaurants and bars within a couple of blocks so is a great base for exploring around the area. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful with checkin and directions. The room was large by NY standards although my room lacked much of a view, other than some nearby room tops and neighboring walls. The... More

Great location close to all that NYC has to offer. Friendly staff and concierge service which offered great selections for dinner and things to do around the city. Prepaid for my trip to guarantee rate and had my room ready upon arrival. Biggest complaint is my room faced other buildings with very little natural light. Not sure if that was... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
