Great location and good breakfast (23$) but that's about the only thing positive about this hotel. Don't be tricked by the NH brand name. The rooms are not nice (dirty carpet and old furniture) This is nothing like the European hotel branch. I had a horrible stay with security issues (people could enter my room with their key, reception gave... More

Still have yet to talk to the front desk, since an African American woman who claimed to work there started standing in the hallways and accussed me of being noisy for seeing what was standing outside of my room. After a horrible night of no peace due to noise due to another's a.c.. I went to the desk 3 times... More

I booked the deluxe room for one night for my boyfriends birthday just to get away. I was place on the 17th floor. With a "supposed" view of the city. I saw a couple buildings that was Eh. The hotel was very nice kind of small. Food around was great, Jackson hole is not too far and delivers as well... More

The hotel location is fantastic within short walking distance from some really iconic landmarks(Empire State building is round the corner). Was very clean but room was tiny, ok for our short stay and we were not in it much. Bed was comfy and big. Breakfast was ace, buffet style continental but hot food was cooked to order. Our heating gave... More

Spent 3 nights here last week and although not luxury (you get what you pay for) was comfortable enough. Yes the rooms are small, a bit dated with old furnishings and TVs (ours didn't work very well, but not end of world) but the location of hotel and fact its reasonably priced for NYC kind of makes up for this... After reading the reviews on here we were worried, but found everything to be great. Friendly & helpful staff, clean & comfortable bed, modern bathroom with working facilities & a view of the Empire State Building as requested. Lovely & warm even when the temperature outside was -15! Thank you to all the staff.

Pros: Fabulous location on 38th and Madison. Walkable to public library, grand central, times square, the Rockefeller and empire state. Pleasant, hard working staff. Very clean. Keys checked at lifts so very safe. Felt very comfortable walking around area solo at night. Cons: old, worn decor. Old heating system. Blow heater so too loud to have on at night. Only... More

The Hotel has a good location. We had a Deluxe Room, it was ok. The carpet was very dirty, with some spots. Looked very used! The rest of the room was ok, the bathroom looks clean. The Wifi is free of charge, when you an member of the NH Rewards program. It is very fast. For few nights in New... More

nice hotel. pretty small reception area, but cosy.. and room was nice, and the toilet nicely renovated, although it seemed like they only renovated the toilets and not the rooms as the room felt considerably older, and very helpful receptionists who were always on hand to answer questions. the lifts felt rather old, though, and the view from the hotel... very good located hotel. Pretty close to the various attractions in Manhatten. Nice, clean, silent and comfortable room. Multilanguage speaking reception. Good breakfast. Ideal for a good stay in Manhattan.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
