First the great: the location! The hotel is in walking distance to the Empire State building, Grand Central Terminal and Times Square. The rooms (standard/ superior) are clean, have nice marble bathrooms but are very dated (old TV). The staff said the whole hotel is due to be renovated in 2016. Beds were great and comfy. The aircon works fine,... More

The customer service was just the worse! The staff was rude to every guest, the guest would complain together in the elevators! They were the same to me. Just very unprofessional. Plus, the staff told me different ways the parking would be handled – it seemed like no one really knew what and why I was asking that question. They... More

I actually stayed in May 2013 but I've only got round to creating a trip adviser account. This hotel is perfectly located. It's only few blocks south of Grand Central, North of ESB and east of Times Square. Plenty of subway options but we walked everywhere. Staff are very friendly. We had a standard room which is small but this... More

Long weekend in NY with my daughter. Hotel is central in between everything you would want to see in NY. Great location. Reception not very friendly but that depends who is working that day. The beds are terrible. The trafic didn't bother us on the 11th floor. Room was clean 👍......airconditioning makes a lot of noise....and you can't adjust the... More

Could not have asked for a better location. 10 min walk to Grand Central. 5 minute walk to Bryant Park (and subways). 15 minute or less to all the theatres and Times Square. Staff couldn't be nicer. Anthony took care of me when I walked into a VERY small uncomfortable room on the 4th floor and asked to be moved.... More

We stayed at the Madison hotel as part of our bucket list of places we wanted to go and to our surprise we were not disappointed the entrance and foyer was Art Deco which was really nice, our room was all we required and down stairs there was a nice cafe where you could get a breakfast that was quite... Came to this Hotel May 2015. Nice standard hotel great location for all the touristy things you are in New York for. Hotel and rooms were clean and bed linen and towels are changed daily. You don't get any tea or coffee making facilities here and Wifi if you need it isn't included. Rooms are pretty small but with a... More

Don't let beautiful exterior fool you. The place looks like it hasn't been remodeled since the 80's. Rooms are dingy. Carpets are old and worn. Bed had a thin blanket. I have literally been to hotels in the side of the road that are in much nicer shape. Motel 6 would reject this place.

Hi All We stayed here for 4 nights and the room stank of smoke, we were situated near the road and could hear every vehicle go by and could hardly sleep because of this. The TV is one of the old tube ones and the picture was so hazed that we did not even bother trying to watch it. This... More

If I had spent more time looking for hotels, I think I would have found a better place to stay at the same rates (~$300/night depending on day of the week). On the plus side, it's in a very convenient location - easy walk from Grand Central, about a 15 minute walk from Penn Station, near the Empire State Building... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
