We were delighted to find this hotel in a central, yet quasi residential area on the upper east side. My husband and I go to NYC at least once a year and we have tried many places. Affinia Gardens is the largest hotel; each room was once an apartment, so there is a full kitchen, should you choose to cook,... More

I stayed here for a night because I was attending a nearby event and needed a convenient and quiet place to sleep. I was quite pleased with everything. I requested a quiet room and got one on a top floor away from the elevators. I was also unexpectedly given a free upgrade to a suite, so my room was enormous.... More

having stayed at the Affinia Gardens several times over the past 12 years but not for at leaest 5 years, I was very pleasantly surprised at the really great updates--it feels like a completely new hotel in many ways. for NYC, the Junior Suite was larger than most people's apartments and had all the amenities of such (perhaps because it... I had to be in NYC for surgery. Who knew I had to leave Boston to find "the best". I booked at the Affinia because of its close proximity to Lennox Hill and because my husband is a homebody and it looked (and sounded) like a good place where he could get out and explore without feeling overwhelmed by city... My family and I really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It was a perfect fit for all 6 of us (3 adults,2 kids and infant). The room was clean and spacious (1 bedroom suite w/2 queen beds), the convenience of the kitchen made it easier to accommodate the kids. The staff was very helpful.. Caprice, Nigel and Kris, see... We chose the Affinia Gardens because of its proximity to the Loeb Boathouse in Central Park (wedding) and the Upper East Side art museums and because the room included a kitchenette. Although the facilities did look appealing on-line, the room far exceeded our expectations - amazingly clean, comfortable and commodious. There is complimentary coffee and tea in the lobby as... From the moment we stepped into the lobby of the Affinia we were happy, the concierge was so efficient and the place was stylishly cosy on that cold Monday afternoon. Not a reception for those looking for grandiose. The staff at reception were so friendly and helpful. We stayed in two one bedroom apartments which were perfect. They were not... More

Outstanding property, extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff. Kris and Nigel were the best...recommending local eating establishments that didn't disappoint; handling our taxi arrangements; smiling faces no matter what. The room was beyond our expectations....clean, bright, modern, spacious and well appointed. The mattress and bedding were luxurious. Kitchenette well stocked. The garden patio was a terrific and an unexpected plus.... More

After reading some reviews, I was a little concerned. After staying here I was wondering if I stayed in the same hotel that some of the people were talking about. The hotel was beautiful and the room was huge. Nino at the front desk was amazing. He was so friendly. We were there to go to Kleinfeld's for my daughters... More

Staying in Upper East Side

Neighborhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighborhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighborhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.
