This is my fourth stay here: the location is excellent, the rooms decent (bathrooms not great) and the staff good. We got my sister to switch to this hotel after years at another, and I've recommended it to several people. But I've been much less pleased this stay: our bathtub won't drain, keycards won't work (have been reprogrammed twice now,... More

I had not been on the East side for quite sometime. I forgot how nice the location can be. The hotel was a typical large chain building- nice welcoming lobby and large lobby bar. We were on the 12th floor in a king room. The colors were welcoming - warm browns and the bedding good quality. We could however hear... More

Excellent Location! Small rooms, but clean and recently renovated. Service is not the best, just ok. A good deal for a place to crash after a long day of shopping, you can walk almost everywhere from the hotel. Few blocks from Broadway and the Park. Many metro stations just across the street.

I've never written a review on a hotel before, but i wished that i'd known the following before spending upwards of £230 for two nights at the Doubletree Hilton (Lexington Avenue, New York): From leaving our bags at the hotel as we arrived earlier than the 3pm check in and no room was available (we were charged to leave the... Ideal location - only 10 mins walk (if that) to Grand Central train station. staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was upgraded on arrival to a lovely king size bedroom which was very clean and with plenty of room. There was no noise from any A/C units or traffic so a good sleep every night. The added benefit was... More

The hotel is close to the Subway 6 line so it's easy to get around. It is right in mid-town near lots of attractions. We took the Supershuttle from Kennedy airport ($18 per person + tip each way). It took 40 minutes to get to the hotel, but it took 1:30 to get back to the airport due to traffic.... More

Overall, in the context of our stay (we booked fairly late for Thanksgiving week) we were very pleased with the Doubletree Metropolitan. It's within walking distance to Times Square, St. Patrick's, Rock Center, and Radio City Music Hall. The farthest of those is about 5 blocks (Lexington Ave. to 7th Avenue). We took a taxi twice (for example, back from... More

We stayed at the Doubletree Metropolitan over Thanksgiving weekend. We were able to walk a few blocks to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Many other tourist sites are within walking distance, for example, MOMA. There are also many large department stores and restaurants in the area. We were able to easily get to other parts of the city using the... More

Having requested an assessable room I expected to at the very least have the room ready on time, and one reasonably close to the elevator (I use a cain, not a wheelchair). The room was not read until 3:45 pm. The room was much too hot and there was no way to lower the heat to less than 75 degrees... More

The location is excellent, you can walk to times square and additional there is a metro station near from the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, the staff was nice. I would stay in this hotel again.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
