Bar/ Lobby felt weird, almost like a bus depot. Perhaps it was because of the construction going on. Rooms were clean and spacious enough. Street noise was very loud, and I was on 8th floor. Parking downstairs was convenient.

We picked this hotel based on price and location. Location wise, it is a comfortable walk to most of mid town and Central Park. We walked to and from Times Square and the theatre district. We walked to The Metropolitan Museum of Art and to Grand Central. It's right beside a subway station although we took taxis whenever we didn't... More

The rooms are lovely (like all Hiltons)... however it's the fantastic location that is the best part. You can easily walk to Central Park, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Bloomingdales, the MOMA, Rockefeller Centre, Times Square, and so much more. Staff is friendly and they have a good fitness centre. And there are many nice restaurants nearby. (Only small negative... More

Strangely, this hotel has han an abrupt fall on its quality. Staff is not as friendly as it once used to be. No concierge available in the evening. Lobby under construction. They put me in a small noisy room. After my complains, they changed me to another bad tiny room. In the evening, when I asked for advice on the... More

This was my third trip to New York. I try and stay at someplace different every time. I traveled here with a party of 5 this time and booked 2 rooms. One being a King room and the other a double double. I requested an early check-in knowing full well that it may not be possible. Check-in is guaranteed by... More

We stayed as a group of 13 and had a wonderful time. The location is fabulous, only a 5 minute walk to the wonderful shopping strip on 5th and 10 minutes to Central Park. The rooms were of a high spec and cleaned well daily. My only complaint is the extortionate rate of $16 per day for wifi in your... More

We spent a weekend at the Doubletree Metropolitan last week, and were glad we picked that hotel. It is well located a few blocks south of Central Park, 2 blocks from Rockefeller Centre and near Broadway & 5th Avenue for shopping. We had a king room that was well furnished and clean with a good bed. Just outside the front... More

I have stayed at this hotel a number of times and I was shocked to hear that when I tried to store my bags I was told it would cost $2. The person trying to "help" me said that it was only $2 and everyone pays it. I said I thought that it was wrong to charge me to store... More

I stayed here Boxing Day 2014 until New Years Day with my husband and 14 year old son. It was a lovely clean hotel. The staff were helpful and friendly. It is a perfect location for sightseeing. The rooms are clean and well kept. I would definitely stay here again !

I spent a few days at the Doubletree this past weekend and, while I can handle the fact that they're going through a renovation in their lobby, there are a few issues I couldn't ignore. One being they only had a restaurant that served breakfast and lunch. When you come in at night and want dinner or a small bite,... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
