Having not stayed at a Doubletree during conferences, I was sort-of bummed-out that a jazz event I was attending moved, and the Doubletree Metropolitan New York was the lowest-priced and nearest hotel to my meetings. The disappointment was short-lived, though. It has all the things one wants from a "boutique" European-style hotel: good bar/restaurant, convenient location, courteous, out-reaching and knowledgeable... More

I wouldn't stay at this hotel again. The room obviously had water damage somewhere because the floor was wet all day and our entire stay. To make up for the room they had the nerve to offer us complimentary breakfast which was only cold cereal.

The location of this hotel is EXCELLENT! though there are only 02 tread mills for ALL the guests : / and no wifi on rooms only in the lobby. Besides of that, room service is good, the hotel is always crowdy Good experience!

This was my 4th time staying at this hotel. I have stayed here because of its great location and Hilton brand. However, something has happened over the last year to make this hotel slide in quality. The room amenities are not up to Hilton quality. The heating system (during this awful northeast winter weather) worked okay with only a few... More

Booked a room for a night for my Girlfriends birthday. We had a very pleasant stay. We got a king delux room and the bed was very comfy and huge. Great price for the room also. My only complaint is there was either no mini fridge in the room and it was hidden because we couldn't find it. Otherwise I... More

I recently did a last minute booking at the Doubletree Metropolitan in Midtown Manhattan this weekend. The going rate for a Saturday night was $119 ($150 with taxes). This seemed pretty amazing for a last minute Nyc hotel. I don't know much about NYC, so I wasn't really sure about the location. Well, the location was great! Tons of restaurants... More

We just came back from 3 nights at this hotel (2/26/2015-3/1/2015). As a Hilton Diamond, we have stayed in a lot of Doubletree hotels. We needed a hotel near the E train. This one is right next door. Huge plus! The lobby was a typical NYC hotel lobby. The room was the smallest one we've had in NYC, but was... More

Room very acceptable with huge comfortable bed, had problem with window blocked open a couple of inches which not advisable in December. Reception sorted fault quickly while we were out site seeing. A bit noises at night even though on a higher floor due to traffic noise and sirens from emergency vehicles passing below. Reception organised return transport to JFK... More

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night, Saturday 2-28. We arrived alot earlier than the 3 pm check in and we inquired at the desk if a room was ready. Even though it was only 12:30 we were able to check in and thaw out. The room was on the 9th floor with no view but it was clean... More

So outdated and dirty- rooms are tiny and bathrooms even smaller. Staff is rude and could care less about your stay. Lobby small and not conducive to business. Only positive is location. I never experienced such arrogance from a hotel staff.

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
