We had a great internet (prepay) rate of $155/night, so I was pretty excited about that, having stayed at the hotel 4 years prior. The room was great, hotel facilities and staff wonderful, but the bathroom was horrid. Some things needed simple fixing--toilet seat with multiple chips, inadequate hairdryer; but the bathroom overall was horribly outdated, lots of caulk in... more

I stay frequently in business hotels in New York with clients and colleagues. The Barclay Intercontinental delivers on the services required by a business traveler, i.e business center, room service, etc. but feels quite dated. The rooms feel old, especially the bathrooms. There are better alternatives in this price range in midtown Manhattan. more

Just returned from a 5 night stay at the Barclay. Got a great deal on priceline of $110.00 per night. While the price was right, I don't think I would return to this hotel again. The walls are so thin that you can hear the toilet flush in the surrounding rooms. Most New York hotels will double pain their windows... more

We came up for the 4th of July from DC taking the Bolt Bus. I got the room using ICH reward points so it was a freebie. I reserved a deluxe king. I can't say I felt it was deluxe because the bathroom was about as small as you could get and still be usable by my 6'7" husband. It... more

Too bad the descriptions in the title don't reflect the staff at all. Still a good hotel nonetheless, however let down by the service of the staff, especially at the front desk. However, I'm sure that this was a one off occurrence and we were unlucky. The hotel is conveniently located between Lexington and Park and only around 10 minutes... more

I'd booked this hotel due to its low price and good location. The room has clean at all times and the bed was comfy. However the front staff were not exactly rude but not exactly welcoming either. No hello, no thanks for staying here, etc. like you usually find in good hotels/b&bs. The bathrooms were also a bit tired. The... more

Aged furniture, very old hotel, needs renovation. Equals to a 2 star hotel in Europe. Don't go there if you have a choice. Hotel staff very unhelpful, they lie to you about things. Front desk staff opened into my room with their key cards without any warning. They speak to you in words you wouldn't say to your dog. Front... more

We scored this hotel on Priceline.com for $125 per night and were in room 1102 which was a great size - especially for New York. We fell in love with the king size bed and pillows because they were so comfortable. The room was quiet and I liked the block out curtains so we had great sleeps. I loved being... more
