Superb mid-town location is killer for this hotel, you're in the middle of Manhattan, close to the subway, Rockerfeller Centre, Radio City Music Hall, MoMa, and loads of other things, too. The lobby is a very impressive gateway into the hotel and certainly sets the scene for the grand opening into the hotel. Unfortunately, some of the reception staff feel... more

I am a frequent business traveler to New York and I must tell you that this is by far the worse hotel that I have ever stayed in New York. First of all the rooms are the size of a shoe box and the bathroooms are even smaller than that. The decore is old and the tv's are from 10... more

The Intercontinental Barclay is a beautiful old hotel in an excellent location but for over $400 per night you do not get what you pay for it. We were charged $13 for internet service that only worked the first time we used it. I contacted the hotel who could not trouble shoot the problem. We had to use the free... more

We were in NYC on business, for a weekend of events to attend; we're not tourists, and we've stayed here before, years ago, before Barclay was added to Intercontinental. We parked 5 or 6 blocks east, for cheaper parking, and walked to 48th St. and Lexington. We arrived very wet from a torrential rainstorm, and were looking forward to a... more

Well, after the stay in Milwaukee and now the Intercontinental Barclay in NYC, I'm starting to notice the corporate strategy. Buy a property, renovate the lobby, restaurants and public spaces, but simply move new furniture into an old dated room. The rooms were old, the carpet spotty and the bathroom dated and no bigger than the passenger seat in my... more

I stay frequently in business hotels in New York with clients and colleagues. The Barclay Intercontinental delivers on the services required by a business traveler, i.e business center, room service, etc. but feels quite dated. The rooms feel old, especially the bathrooms. There are better alternatives in this price range in midtown Manhattan. more

Month of stay - March 2009 Reviewer - 105584345 The hotel is conveniently located to move to any part of NY city. It's on a busy street so you can walk out and hail a cab or choose to walk to the place you want to go to. The rooms are very comfortable and cozy with enough space to work... more

Had to make a quick trip to NYC on a Biz trip. Booked the Barclay due to the great rate negotiated by my company, a major NY financial institution. I have stayed here before, without incident and liked the location, close to many hedge funds and corp offices. I hated this stay at the Barclay. It seems the hotel's yield... more

Stayed for two nights for a business trip. The room was a handicapped accessible king so it was fairly roomy. Linens were nice and the bed was very comfortable. Walls were poorly insulated and there was pretty distinct noise from the adjacent room. Another minus was the lack of hot water in the shower. When I called the front desk... more
