I stayed in herald square hotel for only one night. The location is quite good regarding to the fact that it's seating on 5 avenue. The lobby does seem old and not inviting but the room was a nice surprise. It's was quite big and convenient and of course very clean. I will definitely cone back

The first thing I noticed when I walked into my room was it's size in comparison to other NYC hotels. I booked the renovated queen room and it was spacious enough for two people with luggage and had a large bed that could fit three fairly comfortably. Bath products are Aveeno, which is a bonus if that's your brand. My... More

We spent 3 days in NYC during our roundtrip through USA, this hotel is great value for the money you spend. It has all we needed. The rooms were clean, I have to say spotless. Some reviews mentioned size of the rooms as an issue. I personally find the size very satisfactory considering this is NYC. Staff very friendly. 24/7... More

The outer skin of this older building belies nothing of the inside. While checking in is a process involving a thick piece of glass separating you from the personnel; a slip of paper pushed into the little depression and out to you to sign disconcerting, the hallways at odd angles and not too clean; I was reluctant to use my... We stayed here two nights, and if it was not for the location, we would not have chosen this hotel. The bullet proof glass was very strange for a hotel. There is only one key? We have never had a hotel in which you get only one key. The room we had, 220 was VERY DARK, and the A/C was... More

Very close to Madison Square Garden. We had a bigger room compared to other rooms. It's was wonderful other than no mirrors other than the bathroom mirror. The wifi wasn't that great either. Our room was very cool. We kept the air on all the time on low setting. It's was nice coming back to a chilled room. Hallways were... More

I stayed at the Herald Square Hotel for 2 nights in July. Check in is 3pm, but the website states there is bag storage for early arrivals. I arrived at 11:30 am and was able to check into my room! Fabulous! The room was quiet, clean, and renovated. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel is in a great location,... More

It is a fair hotel considering its price and the location. However, there are some issues. First of all, you might have some bug issues. I stayed for four nights, and on the third night, I was freaked out when I found the biggest roach I have ever seen in my life crawling in the bathtub. They changed--actually upgraded--my room;... The Herald Square Hotel is located in 31st Street between 5th Avenue and Broadway. It's not a 5 stars hotel however it's clean, comfy, the staff is friendly but two things that make this hotel the best option if you are traveling in a budget this hotel has UNBEATABLE prices and UNBEATABLE location. One block away from Broadway, three away... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
