I stayed for a week with mum and sister in January 2015. We had a great time. No breakfast ois included but they offer different types of coffee/chocolate and hot water (and several types of tea), there is also chocolate bars available in the morning and in the afternoon, we loved it! The hotel is very charming. The guy that... More

I was there for 2 nights. The room had zero day light, one plug, very dated bathroom with almost clogged sink tub and toilets., tiny tv, dirty towels. The receptionists and other personnel are very rude and not accommodating at all. Not nice people at all. Just terrible and bad experience. For the same level/boutique style, the St James is... Me and my girlfriend stayed here for 5 nights in April and for the price we paid we was pleasantly surprised. The receptionist was friendly and very helpful and the room was very big with a big bathroom which i have not seen in a lot of hotels of late. In an ideal location on 31st it is a quick... More

We stayed here for short break. If booked early enough you can pay fairly little. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Hotel itself is in good location. Times square in 10 minutes walk away and empire state building is about 5 minutes away. Hotel could to with a little update but it's clean and reasonable size rooms. If hotel is... More

Boutique hotel just a short walk from the Empire State Building - reasonably priced for NYC. The front desk workers were very nice. We arrived early and they very quickly gave us access to lockers on site to stow our luggage until check in. Check in was quick and easy. We were on the first floor of this 7 floor... More

The radiators do make noise and reception is behind the cells as mentioned in other reviews. However, the room was warm dry and the bed was comfy. The bathroom does all you need. It is in a great location and I slept perfectly well. Seems odd to pay twice the price to stay in a hotel with a name, save... More

The Herald Square Hotel is a no frills clean and friendly place in a great Manhatten location. It's a couple blocks from the Empire State build and walking distance to the theatr district. No refrigerator, no restaurant, no microwave, no room service -- just a clean large room with friendly staff. The place is popular with foreign tourists. In the... More

Anyone who has read my reviews knows I am a little overly concerned about cleanliness in hotels. At first sight the lobby is older and so are the hallways as many other reviewers have noted - but once in our room (110) it was like a B&B. Wood floors, white linens, clean bathroom. I did not have to use the... More

I doubted staying here at first but upon reading some good reviews on location, I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. How I wished I had stayed a few more days. loved its location. Extremely convenient and the subway was just next door on 34th Street. Macy and other major shopping area were also 3 streets away. Saved a... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
