I have been staying here for the last several years on my trips to NYC. It has an excellent location and the rooms we have had are always clean and nice. The price is amazing for NYC. It's small, cute and no frills. What else do you need?

Great location for lots of NY attractions. It's very clean and has very comfy beds. They provide free coffee, tea and oatmeal all day which was a nice surprise. However the bathroom is pretty dated and the shower temperature was very variable. The plug sockets are at weird heights in the room and the lights are very dim. It's great... More

My husband & I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. We found the room to be clean & perfect for what we needed. The bed was amazingly comfortable! Definitely needed after very long days walking & sight seeing. Great location & affordable. A disappointment we had, was the water pressure in the shower was non existent, terrible in fact,... More

We spent a week in Herald Square Hotel, it was a very nice stay though very small rooms. The hotel is very very clean, the location is superb close to all transportation, serving coffee and tea and light snacks is good. Most of the staff was nice and helpful. The only drawback was that rooms don't have mini fridges, no... More

We stayed at the herald sq for 5 nights in March 2015. Having been to New York several times, we knew exactly the area we wanted to stay. The herald sq is perfect for most attractions as it is pretty central to everything. It's just sort of behind Macy's. Our room was a large room with 2 double beds. The... More

I stayed for a week with mum and sister in January 2015. We had a great time. No breakfast ois included but they offer different types of coffee/chocolate and hot water (and several types of tea), there is also chocolate bars available in the morning and in the afternoon, we loved it! The hotel is very charming. The guy that... More

I was there for 2 nights. The room had zero day light, one plug, very dated bathroom with almost clogged sink tub and toilets., tiny tv, dirty towels. The receptionists and other personnel are very rude and not accommodating at all. Not nice people at all. Just terrible and bad experience. For the same level/boutique style, the St James is... Me and my girlfriend stayed here for 5 nights in April and for the price we paid we was pleasantly surprised. The receptionist was friendly and very helpful and the room was very big with a big bathroom which i have not seen in a lot of hotels of late. In an ideal location on 31st it is a quick... More

We stayed here for short break. If booked early enough you can pay fairly little. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Hotel itself is in good location. Times square in 10 minutes walk away and empire state building is about 5 minutes away. Hotel could to with a little update but it's clean and reasonable size rooms. If hotel is... More

Staying in Midtown

Neighborhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit - spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's paradise where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
